    It will be interesting to see how this plays out for Matt Gaetz. If this turns into the speaker fiasco going on for weeks, does he become a Republican hero or zero? Not MAGA, because they all love the chaos, but real GOPers. I think he may have committed political suicide unintentionally. But who knows in this upside down political era.

    It’s evident that the Republicans don’t even like republicans. Nothing like trying to elect a speaker that asked for a pardon because he knew he participated in illegal election actions.

    The affect on kids sports is really devastating. Every parent thinks their kid is going pro at 8 years old. I grew up playing very competitive hockey and skated in a very minor league like Slapshot only worse. I have coached and refereed hockey since the late 70s. A few years ago we finally had to sit down about 300 parents in our San Diego youth hockey program to set them straight. One of our coaches was a high draft choice in the NHL and never played a game, toiling in the minor leagues for 12 years. He laid it out to them. They STILL thought little Billy should be on line one and make it to the LA Kings! Youth sports has become an entire industry in its own right. It’s crazy. The fun is gone for a lot of kids.

    At some point the few somewhat sane republicans will make sure he doesn’t run. All of them want him gone. They just want to keep his voters. But they know turnout is nothing if Trump isn’t on the ballot and they lose a lot of seats down ballot. And if Trump is on the ballot they lose again to Biden. Rock and a hard place.

    People like you that take great joy in such issues are what is dividing America. You lack the intelligence, empathy and courage to look at all sides of an issue. You think it’s fun that an entire section of America makes fun of a kind, loving, funny young girl. You have zero insight into why a music video with lyrics aimed at denigrating black America is disturbing. And energizing MAGA world. Filmed at the site of a lynching. Because you back the blue, unless they are defending the Capitol from a bunch of white folks you side with. Because those asshats spit on cops and used flags to beat them. I guess that wouldn’t have happened in a small town. so do you love or hate cancel culture? Such a conundrum. It must be painful to live life viewing everything through a left or right magnifying glass.

    The Bill hasn’t passed, nor is on the way to be signed by the president. A LOT of discussion will be held on most of the items listed in this bill in committee. We have seen this movie before, most recently with ATC payment for use by GA aircraft. USPA doesn’t usually discuss what battles they are fighting until they are over. But hey, I still have my BASE rig, so there’s that!

    The QAnon nutter in our family already thinks this was a Biden hit job. He thinks Pizzagate was real. He owns a couple of car dealerships and is a friendly, very wealthy guy. He was at the Capitol Jan. 6 but stayed outside. His kids are worried about him. Well, except for the one that is also Q crazy. It’s so sad to watch. Q is really wrecking families.
