  1. OK I got a 3MB pdf file of the article in our magazine this month. Let me know if anyone wants it! ciel bleu, Saskia
  2. AFF student, huh? ciel bleu, Saskia
  3. Sure.... http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=guestpass&id=fxh0n http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2410285;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread ciel bleu, Saskia
  4. Reference please? Where/when/etc? Ask Henny (ParaShoot here) about that one..... ciel bleu, Saskia
  5. Although tracking skills are certainly invaluable when wanting to wingsuit (and in general too LOL), if you only jump a tracking suit, and mostly solo at that, you're going to miss a lot of other basic skills you'll need for wingsuiting, like diving to a formation, taking docks, etc. You wouldn't be the first to have to figure out when to brake etc while closing in on a wingsuit formation high speed. Not safe... My sugestion would be to stick with belly flying for the next couple hundred jumps, learn the basics that way. Sort of the same why you shouldn't go straight to freeflying, IMO. The tracking suit is fun and you will learn a lot, but you'l be much safer with solid RW skills. Save the tracksuit for sunset tracking jumps ciel bleu, Saskia
  6. Well the video will definately not be finished before next weekend. Got >15 tapes to sort through.... Awesome footage in there, a lot of it filmed from the 25 meters high crane, or from in the water, got all the water landings, ....
  7. If you searched like you said, you must have seen that Canon is not recommended Only Sony ciel bleu, Saskia
  8. That's what I said, F111/ZP/hybrid. Never heard the term 'PS' before?!? Nor the term 'demo Lightning'. Of course you can do CRW with all F111 Lightnings, some of the bigger ones that we have are F111 and they get used regularly. The L143 comes only in hybrid or ZP and the smaller canopies are ZP only. So any L126/L113 is ZP. The (extra) reinforcement is a separate option AFAIK. ciel bleu, Saskia
  9. OTOH, actually learning to shoot video and/or stills before you start flying them, makes for better video and you'll probably be somewhat more relaxed as you are pretty sure you set the camera right.... I know a few camera flyers that have NO clue about videoing/photography they just use the same settings always because it works. However if you KNOW what you're doing you'll get better shots because you can adapt and be creative. Just a personal gripe from someone who helps putting a skydiving mag together and edits other peeps video a lot ciel bleu, Saskia
  10. Hmm Jurgen is not American bro ciel bleu, Saskia
  11. Ok... so I'm a total newb when it comes to CRW so would someone please explain what the difference is between rotation and sequential trim is? Rotation trim is steeper than sequential trim. ciel bleu, Saskia
  12. Feet on your butt, arch like hell, arms stretched forward, look UP not down. You'll get it But why are your own instructors not helping you with this? ciel bleu, Saskia
  13. Owkay. So, yeah, all Lightnings are PD?!? The questions to ask would be, is it rotation trim or sequential, fabric reinforcement on top or not, tailpocket or not, ZP/F111/hybrid fabric (well all L126's are ZP anyway), ... ciel bleu, Saskia
  14. What do you mean by "PS"? ciel bleu, Saskia
  15. For which is better, and the costs, try searching here for staticline vs AFF..... But in your case, I think RAPS/SL might be best, as it gets you used to lower exit altitudes, which will stand you in good stead considering UK weather.... Esp near the end of the season. Also, you can start now It would be best if you can continue jumping through the winter, if you can't (because the DZ closes or something), then you might be better off waiting for next season anyway... If you can only do a small number of jumps now you'd have to re-learn a lot of stuff next year... ciel bleu, Saskia

  17. They send you a money order. You send them your gear. You discover that the money order is bogus. They now have your gear, and can sell it for profit. You lost your gear, and got nothing. AFAIK most of these scammers don't even WANT your gear anymore. They will send you a check that's over the amount asked. They pick faily high-priced items for this not just skydiving gear, but boats, cars, etc too) THEY will arrange shipping. You then get a nice story about WHY the check is over the amount, and why you should send them the difference. THEN you find out the check is bogus, AFTER you sent them a couple hundred/thousand dollars. Although, I personally think that if you fall for a story like that, well........ ciel bleu, Saskia
  18. Well I've had one for sale for ages..... Hybrid Tri 120, so it has the dacron lines and the other crw mods. I need to get rid of it pronto ciel bleu, Saskia
  19. Depends on which one, if you're already low and your reserve handle is missing, you then have to go look for the wing cutaways first, in freefall, then control the legwing so you don't go headdown, then locate the reserve handle and pull. Might become hairy.... Or if you have a spinning mal, looking for 2 extra handles is not really a welcome distraction ... Lots of incidents start out with a minor issue like that ciel bleu, Saskia
  20. I've seen it happen on the ground though... Very exp wingsuit jumper, his own rig and his own S3. Cutaway handle disappeared inside suit after moving around in it for a while. One tab difference... ciel bleu, Saskia

  25. Not true, I know of at least 3 cases of a cypres fire during a swoop BEFORE Adrian's accident. One was at a swoop competition where some competitors were trying to get out of the AAD rule, afraid of a fire. They were only allowed to turn their AAD off after a fire during that competition. ciel bleu, Saskia
