  1. I read a story in Parachutist 3-4 years ago about a guy (don't remember his name) that did something like 68 static line jumps before doing his first freefall (bear with me I wasn't a static line student so I don't know the progression) but the point is, every instructor told him he wasn't cut out for this sport and he should quit. But he didn't give up and he's a top notch skydiver today with 1000's of jumps. So if you really want to be a skydiver, hang in there and it will happen. Rhonda
  2. Skydive Orange and Skydive Virginia are in the Northern VA area. There is also Hartwood Parachute center but I don't know much about that one. Skydive Orange has a pretty big freefly community so I hear. And I think Skydive Virginia has a Casa. I actually moved away from that area 4 years ago so I haven't been to either in a while but they both have websites. http://www.skydive-virginia.com/ http://www.skydiveorange.com/ Rhonda
  3. The film is also featured at the Sundance Film Festival. Rhonda
  4. Live in Sunny Bellevue, WA (just outside of Seattle). Oh wait you guys aren't fall for that sunny stuff are you? DZ: Kapowsin Other DZ: Perris Actually, I haven't jumped in a long time due to injuries but still hang out at the DZ's with all my friends. Rhonda
  5. Wah wah wah. Try living in the Northwest. It rains here all the stinking time. RB
  6. Hey James, aka FreeflyGuy, aka C--- M---- (you fill in the blanks), when are you going down? I'm outta Seattle on Thursday evening coming back on Tuesday. Rhonda B.
  7. Maybe Chuck can point out which ones are him. I wish I knew who they all are although I do recognize about 50% of them. Rhonda
  8. Well the purpose of that page is mostly so people who were there could be able to purchase prints of the their photos. Those people should be able to pick themselves out. I have no idea who everyone is either and I seriously doubt if Craig knows them all by name. The only reason I posted anything about it in the first place was that there were few people asking about how to purchase prints. Rhonda
  9. Photos prints are now available for purchase on the Teamfirestarter web site. I know some of you have been asking about them. There are hundreds of photos to add so if you don't see yours there yet, check back. I am adding them as quickly as I can. To order, you will need to call or email Craig directly with the image name which you can get by clicking on the thumbnail. Craig can give you a price at that time. The phone number and email address are on the page. http://www.teamfirestarter.com/swoop.htm Thanks. Rhonda

  11. I haven't heard anything from him but I can check when I see him today. Well, I"m off to the airport soon. Can't wait to get back to sunny CA. Rhonda
  12. Cool. I'm glad to hear the sites are getting hits. Especially Firestarter since it's so new. Tanya and Craig will be happy to hear that. Bonehead always gets tons of hits and Flyboyz does pretty well also. Have you joined the Flyboyz mailing list yet? I send out periodic updates about what's new and dates and information for events they sponsor or are attending. If you haven't joined and you would like, I will add you. Doing all the websites is a way for me to stay "active" in the sport since I haven't jumped since an injury 2 years ago. Rhonda
  13. Thanks Marc. I'm sorry I sounded so negative earlier. You would be amazed at the remarks I get from people (mostly on rec.skydiving) sometimes about me doing the things I do for my friends. It puts me on the defensive. Check out www.teamfirestarter.com and www.boneheadcomposites.com Those are two of my other sites although I've just started Firestarter so it still needs a lot of work. Rhonda
  14. Well, in that case. None of them posted it. I posted it in their behalf. But it's ok. As their webmistress(webmaster whatever) it's just one of the many things I do for them. Rhonda
  15. The Film Festival is always a blast. Well, except when asswhole terrorists decide to fly our own planes into large buildings and kill thousands or American people but we won't go there. Rhonda
  16. Is anyone planning on being there this weekend? I will be there bright and early Thursday morning doing registration. Even if you aren't planning on participating in the Film Festival, stop by and say hello. Rhonda

They did it a few months ago at Eloy. I know Omar Alhegelan was in on it and several others. Rhonda
  18. His name is Frankie and I believe he broke his back. A few years later he participated in this Skydive/bike across America thing where he and a few others rode bikes all the way from Kapowsin Air Sports near Seattle to Skydive Deland and stopped at all the DZ's that were on their route along the way. Kapowsin is my home DZ and I vaguely remember him talking about the incident.
  19. Wow posted it twice and still can't get it typed right. That obviously should be "Freefall for Freedom" Gee, I think I left my brain in bed this morning or at the very least my fingers. Rhonda
  20. Anyone know anything about this other than what has been posted on the Perriscam website? Call your DZ to see if they are participating. http://www.perriscam.com/fff.htm Rhonda

  22. The Flyboyz Film Festival has been rescheduled for Nov 7 - 11. The Firewalk has been rescheduled for Friday, November, 9. The films will be viewed on a 12x15 foot screen. (If you haven’t seen skydiving video on a screen that big, then you haven’t really seen skydiving video!) There will also be packing, tracking and swoop contests in addition to great organized jumps. There will be discounted jump prices each day for registered participants. And as if that isn't enough, registered participants will also receive a long sleeve t-shirt (I've seen them, they are very cool) and admittance to the each evening's festivities. Each night there will be a viewing of films, starting with the winning films from previous years and ending with the awards for the films submitted this year in four categories including the brand new “Innovation” category, music, dancing, parties and who knows what else will be planned between now and then. I'll be there doing registration so I hope to see you all there. Rhonda http://www.flyboyz.com
