Weight is part of the problem, the single attachment point (snag) the 2nd part of the problem. Ive witnessed a few to many malfunction like this (almost every DZ has one or more examples, bridle catching the hackeyball, entangling behind the single attachment point). Next to freefly puds being much more secure for aerobatics, high speed exits etc. when it comes to relative wind, peoples hands etc catching/sliding across. But any alternative works, as long as its light and doesnt have a single attachment point, but a more secure double one, that doesnt create an obvious snag point for the bridle to catch. Would also like to add that wintertime is the perfect time to get that gear upgraded and replace (if present) hackey-balls on pilotchutes, by PVC plastic tubing or a (more secure) freefly pud. There have been many malfunctions and even a fatality related to heavy hackey balls and pilot-chute handles with single-attachment points 'grabbing' the bridle that it doesnt make sense to jump such a setup. Some motorcycle stores also offer battery heated thin liners, you can wear underneath your normal gloves to provide extra heat (for the colder regions where its really needed). Do note Audible & Logger are two different things. That aside,, Ive used a protrack for many jumps, and never had issues. Most jumps logged the full 119 seconds. Being consistent in your fallrate is the biggest key. Its massive changes in fallrate that usually cause registered deployments. Not slow speeds in general. Using an AltiTrack (it also registers canopy flight) or other devices with similar function, enables you to asses the correct deployment altitude afterward via software such as Paralog. Seeing your correct freefall time. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I cant speak from the experience of flying either suit in a base enviroment. But I have flown them both extensivly in the skydiving arena, and prefer the shadow due to flying style the suit allows. I think performance-wise the shadow is probably capable of 1-5% less than the P2 (the armwings are a little bit smaller, missing the grippers, and the legwing is also scaled back an inch to compensate for the change in ballance). But the noticable difference is so small, its neglectable for most, and flying style and personal preference would be the deciding factor. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Roughly the same as the suits you see on a DZ. Some prefer A...some prefer B JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

based on your experience with a classic Id recommend a Phoenix-Fly "Shadow" or a S-fly "Expert". Both suits have a similar 'no gripper' arm position you are already comfortable with, and both allow easy access of the BOC for pulling (not possible to get fabric in between hackey and hand) Both suits also allow for a large performance range that will suit you well in both flocking and base/performance flying arena, while still not going into the 'extreme experience necessary' arena that's linked to bigger wingsuit models. There is a DZ close to my house. The plane sucks (no windows), each jump takes an hour due to the dropzone being 10 km from the airfield, each jump costs me 29 euros, the landingzone is a muddy mess, and I get shit most times I fly a wingsuit. Still, its close to my house, and I like flying there for the views, the people I jump with, and several other reasons. All not related to dz management, rules, airplane, logistics etc. But because its my 'home' dz. As much as your couch sucks, your TV doesnt work properly, your toilet doesnt flush, and your carpet is dirty. But as much as the place sucks, its still your home, and it really sucks when somebody tells you you cant hang with friends on your couch, drink beers and watch TV anymore.... You may be used to a jacuzzi, flatscreen tv and full fridge. But to someone who doesnt have all that stuff closeby, that shitty old couch and stinky livingroom means a lot... Always a joy to watch your videos Elias Hope to see much more of you and your team soon! And see you saterday for more fun in the sky! Lets try that backflying again! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Same here. Though the unexpected chance hits you unexpected. The other one is more like an obvious "Duuuhh" AADs on bigways are always a good habbit. Seperation and approach collisions have happened (in any dicipline) and have saves lives, and at worst will make the outcome of a fatal collision less gruesome to deal with for the ones left behind. That aside, for me anyting over 4 in a group is already a 'big'way... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Its not the accidental ones you can't avoid in the air that worry me. Its the ones you could have avoided at boardingtime that scare me the most... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

For sure...but if you want to take bets, on which jump will end up with someones head wedged in between your ribs, the video initialy posted in this thread does show one where the probibility is A LOT higher than on any flock with flyers working within their own (safe) capabilities. An incident or accident can happen. But in some cases its not an incident, but simple something everyone should have seen coming a mile away. If you experience that kind of unstable 'weaving' around a formation. Aim away, and make it a solo from that point on. Work on those skills in a smaller suit, and smaller group (maximum you and a wingman, and at max..an added cameraguy). JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think a lot of differences you describe are more build and pilot skill related. Different suits have different flying styles, and the amount of experience on each suit mostly dictates what one can do with it (on top of how your body proportions and weight relate to the suit you fly). Flying suits with tight wings, regardless of fast, slow, floaty or speedy is a personal preference as well. Some suits (S-fly etc) are built around softer inflation, and tensing wings with the body. Others rely on the inflation more, and allow you to ease up on the arms a lot. Its nice to be able to tweak the amount of inflation, but for sure not a necessity/merit of one design or another. Just personal preference, build, and experience.. All the off-topic stuff aside...congrats on your 2 minute plus flight from 11k. Hope to see you post more amazing distances, times and flock accomplishments in the near and far future! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Someone who has been sold or is a suit that doesnt fit his experience level or skill, doesnt always know it so. If people dont tell him/her what the best method of learning to handle (and fly) bigger wingsuits is, and what skill/experience one should have, than the person is just uninformed, and untrained. Needing (from the look of things) a few hundred more wingsuit jumps in a more appropriate suit before donning that suit again. if than he chooses to nearly collide with other jumpers in flocks, trying to wrestle a suit into submittion....THAN he is an idiot.. Thats aside the usual comment 'train flying skills...dont compensate with fabric' As I see more and more newby flyers opt for the biggest carpets they can find. Be it Xbird, Stealth2 or other similar large surface suits..sadly most of them fly the suits on a level, any trained flyer in a small suit can surpass.. Big suit, doesnt automaticly equal good performance... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Speaking of "SubZero-Baby", when will you guys join us for some cold winter flying in Belgium JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

the answer lies mostly in body position, and letting the inflation do its job. Dont push/pull to much on the fabric, but relax in your max flight position. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Read your own first post back...its a statement, not a question. Based on no reference/data at all, you state 'its floating'. Not in any way informative or constructive in critisism..just attitude aimed at scoring a few cheap laughs over somoene elses acomplishments. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Someone posts a happy personal acomplishment, and you're the only one bitching.... Attitude? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The first 'bird' suits had the older shoulder inlets, and suddenly switched to the ram-air inlets under the armpits after PF introduced those, as well as the longer cell allong the body the V3 had. Regarding wingsize/big wings. If thats a feature one or another brand has a copyright on, do say so... Its quite useless to debate what came from where. If you want to turn it that direction, upsizing the orginal design from P. DeG. the zipper feature of the S-Fly, and the first ram-air inlet on the initial PF suits (I believe the Acro was the first) is all that the dicipline brought us in terms of true innovation. And the rest is copying, upscaling and bitching about who came up with what. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

2 years ago everyone would have pointed to the Stealth2 & V3 as a design influence.... Cool...any video...? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

On most performance competitions, the best times in freefall are scored on the distance rounds. For sure, one can end up practically stalling out a suit, in an effort to 'go for time'. But good long freefall times for sure dont mean you are flying a suit wrong/badly. how do you know he was floating? Did you see some GPS readings and wind data that he didnt see? Sure..I know several who brag about their freefall times and fallrate when doing all out tracking. That aside...the intent of their jump isnt flying far, of flying for a long time. Its turning points. If I set out to make a long jump, and thats what i do...it seems I had the most quality jump I can imagine.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

All wingsuit flying members of the project seem to have active dz.com accounts...dont see why they cant post it themselves? FlyLikeBrick always only has our own videos and (very active) flying. If you're talking about wingsuitnews.com, Just check the site more often before complaining. The XRW video showed up on vimeo 2 weeks ago already, and was posted on wingsuitnews.com a few minutes after it went online. Just as we post ANY other wingsuit video. The XRW vimeo vid got taken offline only a day later, and re-appeared online again a week later. No clue why. But the post on WWWN is still there if you browse back a week or two.. If people want more exposure, just do like most people, and shoot us an email. Or pay someone to post it on dropzone.com JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
