  1. I think linkedin shows why user rating wont work. Nobody posts negative stuff, or the subjects remove it, or the studentsget bad coaching but write good reviews for favours or just because they dont know better. In the end, the image people build for themselves with good coaching/instruction wil be the best listing they can come up with. This list wil most likely also only be partial, and 'indepenant' hardly...its also a company promoting its product. Indepenant would be a seperate website, with only the coaches. No branding, rentals or product promotion. Good initiative, but it doesnt sound like a realistic concept JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. I dont. Outdated or even non present knowledge and flying skills should never be 'better than nothing'. Rather send them to someone else who IS a good coach, instead of the 'least worse' Whats the point if such a list is not 100% validated, good, current coaches? If people look up a coach for safety reasons, make sure they all are safe and not coaches rated over a beer or their ego/years in the sport. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. FYB refers people directly via email to coaches, and doesnt post a public listing, from what I got. PF always has the most recent/up to date listing on the website (which should be back up shortly, that aside
  4. PF and FYB both have an up to date listing for coaches. Both companies are 'neutral' in that aspect, and only advocate a teaching method, not what brand to be used for the actual training. Unless a listing also includes currency (in flying and training) and up to date teaching methods its about as random as any list of names of BMIs from back in 2003 who havent touched a wingsuit since than. USPA coach equevalent: few countries have one. Most dont.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. I think scary rolls can just be called linked backfly transitions when they are this much in control... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Its been a busy few weeks, but Im almost done plowing through all the video from various events, a new PF film, several other short bits, many FFCs etc. I finished the first video in a batch of videos about the hit the net, showing some of the best bits from the Competition in Gap. Check it out My compliments to all teams, especially the Spanish flyers (Micky & Paula) who showcased some amazing flying and picture perfecting docking of a level we had never seen before in the sport. Enjoy! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. Sorry, I ment backloop...never do a dive before those? A simple short push seems to be all I need? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Did them this weekend. I think you were missing one step ... I was only talking about a normal frontloop (without altitude loss) not the backfly transition via a frontloop...that involves some asymetry in legs/arms as well Id guess (havent tried that intentionaly yet) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Ill also try and factor in some time to update the document with some of the latest wingsuit features/info in the coming weeks. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Its the long lost art of bad humor....post removed.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. STFU? Stealing Thieves Flock U? I dont get it....this thread is confusing... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Awesome! Now get it in the air and beat it into submission! Remember to fly it on yoyr belly as well for deployments JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Push with your chest and armwings (agressive) tuck knees to chest, bend legs. Hold it untill you're almost completely through, open op again. Harder to do without altitude loss than frontloops. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Jeb is usually seen wearing black wingsuits. Those seem to work best JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Actually I was the only one that didnt name brands discussing the flying aspects of flaring. Unlike the thread title, and the comments when somebody (me) questioned the results. It always seems to be the easy way out, instead of discussing the actual flying or (as in other threads) improvement of skills... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. In conlusion, 2 cases so far 'may' have had wingsuit fly up (after diving speeds far exceeding what we saw in the OPs link), if GPS fluctustions can be interpreted as 100% accurate. Agreed people shouldnt immiately yell 'brand/hate' when someone doesnt agree with the gospel sung JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. I hope people see that these videos are not instructional flight manuals. They are videos of people doing (in this case) planned flights, within their (huge) experience levels. Much like other videos of extreme close flybys, arials in base, XRW, wingsuits buzzing treetops or cutting grass, exits with little altitude, people jumping huge suits, etc etc Its experience that matters. Had this video been you or me...damn right we'd got some serious talking to do! Related to deployments and flying in the deployment cone. Its an absolute no-no if you jump with people who may unexpectedly pull. students, flockers.. With trained athletes flying a dedicated plan, its more likely that the pull wont be a rushed/unexpected thing like some students/flockers would/might. Again..these are not instructional flocking videos... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Its not zoomed in, just shot with a very narrow lens/FOV. The footage Ludo shot was only cropped to Cinemascope while the original footage is normal widescreen. So the sides of the screen are the original edges of the image (-2% or so for some stabilizing) and you miss a small portion on the top/bottom ( I liked the more focussed/narrow image. The last few PF videos all used this wider screen dimension. Feels more cinematic.. End of next week I hope to finish the full trailer, and after that we're heading to Croatia/Italy/Slovenia to shoot some interviews with Robi, Ludo, JNO etc for the full documantary we're working on.. If people have certain questions/things they want to know about PF, planning, flying etc send me a PM and we'll try and work it into the interview! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. I may be missing something, but the tracks show exactly what was stated. A 'maybe' positive lift for a mere second. There had been (browse dz.com) cases of one or so seconds of climb reported by Visa before. The arguement was not about that being possible, but moreso about Matts claim (aside from the jagged GPS track showing few waypoints) not showing the same speeds/agressive dive as those PPC tracks, yet a mere optical illusion of climbing thats visable in quite a few videos. As you say...the coming years may show such progress (climbing, low above ground) but even your writing suggests you may have changed oppinions on whay whas 100% fact in your first post. I LIVE progress, but do think fact and fiction should stay seperated when it comes to celebrating achievements. Its a great video... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Finaly a video plays at the original speed...and than we get this thing.... All jokes aside, really such a shame to see such nice video not take center-stage just by itself...it doesnt need all that additional hoopla.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. No it isnt...flying BEHIND someones trail before deployment is stupid, when its NOT planned. Robert watches for Ludo and vice-versa before they deploy. They do this same move on several jumps. But glad you could find something negative in something positive JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. From what I get, Ludo jumps without a wide-angle lens during this one. But Ill ask him... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. I just put the first teaser online for a new series of edits about to be released by Phoenix-Fly. http://www.vimeo.com/28298377 In about 2 weeks, we will post a longer trailer showing a lot of the awesome jumps JeanNoel, Robert, Ludo, Arnaud and Edo have been making the past months. The last two days it's been a joy to sit in front of my (rather large) computer screen and watch all of the rough footage. Even a trailer cut of a few minutes doesnt do the footage justice, which is why we're working on an actual longer docu where several of the N4S teammembers such as Robert, JNO and Ludo wil talk about the jumps they did. The preperation, the suits they fly and how the jumps where filmed, planned etc. with a lot of longer segments showing a lot of the jumps from start to end in multiple viewpoints. For now...enjoy this new PF short! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. p.s. Only now noticed the file-name of the picture (see the link I posted) fuck_yea.jpg Congrats guys! Great results! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. I was curious to hear if the software Tom wrote was used during the event for briefings/debriefing. And how it worked for you? The pictures with the circles overlayed nicely show the actual tollerance every flyer had from his/her slot..:) http://ruexp.ru/blg/Ruexp/1221.php JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
