A guy at my home DZ uses a home-made N3 connector. A google search gave me this URL..maybe something worth trying? http://www-gt.diff.net/peter/photography/canon_n3_connector_info.shtml JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Actually having thought about it.. Id buy a basic HDV camera, nice helmet, and spend the other 99% of the needed budget on A LOT jumps and maybe a couple of weeks of tunneltime... No matter how good the camera, its nothing short but rediculous when you see someone with a 3K setup on his head, who's doing nothing more but shooting dots in the distance because he doesnt have the skills matching his setup.. get a RED, and then have a nice custum D-Box and/or helmet built (and order 2 extra necks, to replace the current one if it breaks) Or even better..have it side-mounted and have a custom FF2 style enclosed helmet made..Id (almost) pay to see that JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

By the time you're going to fly a camera, you're going to feel bad for owning an old camera, instead of all the cool toys you'll be able to get in the store when you're ready to strap it onto your head.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Extreme FlyWear has been so generous to donate 3 pairs of freefly pants to the winning team. We're working hard with all sponsors to get all prizes x3, so each teammember gets the same thing, and people dont have to bitch and fight over who gets what If you check http://www.wingsuitcompetition.com/prizes.htm you'll see the prizes listed (now also per position/place) More comming soon! And a big thank you to all the sponsors so far..! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

A bit of a side subject, but I dont think any suit you're backflying should be flown 'digging' the wings in. Just out to the side at mild tension is what I've used on a variety of suits, and it always flies just fine. Even on suits that dont have backventing. The only difference in each suit is how far you can open up the legwing without going into a bit of a dive (or huge dive) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

We just have generic ones with an empty space for names. Even just a triangle would work.. But yea...why not? If a 5 year old kid can cut and paste something like that together, a fair percentage of wingsuit flyers should be able to do the same right JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
On our website, in the FlyLikeBrick - Flight Manuals there is a specific video on backflying with some tips and examples. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Its usually not even the 'slowness' of the dive that 'fools' the divece.. Ive had some flights where it just kept logging during +-20 second 21 mph (flare) segments of a jump. As long as the vert. speed decreases slowly, its not an issue (at least not with my protrack unit) Its mostly abrubt drops in speed (no matter if you're flying high or low speeds at that point) that cause the device to think you've initiated an opening.. If the 119 second limit is troubling you, just start exiting lower and work towards 119 again.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

My suggestion would be...practice RW..Freefly...and work on those.. Jumpers that spend the first 100 to 200 jumps tracking solo to get current on 'wingsuit skills' tend to be ok in terms of performance, but have A HUGE lack of skills in flying relative to someone (dare I say 'dangerous') Learning to properly fly your body without a wingsuit DEFINATELY benefits what you'll be doing in a wingsuit lateron. Just have fun..there's a lot of cool things to learn...and when the time is right...get your wings and fly... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Ive been using 3D programs for about 12 years now. And from what Ive seen other people do. Its not real easy to learn the programs unless you really spend a lot of hours on em. The best advice is to get a simple program like POSER or something similar and use some of the standard (included) figures to design dives. Although laptops on a DZ for briefing take a lot of time. With FlyLikeBrick, we use something more low-tech, but A LOT easyer in use.. See attached pics.. If people like, we'll throw a printable PDF file on our website this week with these figurines...print, paste on a piece of cardboard and you're done.. Foor boogies, everyone could print one and bring it with their own colour/name on there. We always have a small stack of these in our gearbag when we do loadorganising etc. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

This was made with 3DS MAX, but could have been 99% similar coming from Maya, Blender, Lightwave or any other 3D program. And small note: I made these animated gifs, so they also play on most newer cellphones, for those who want them avaiable when training on a dropzone. If these jumps (and the event) work, next year we'll be using there and some other figures in true random rounds. Doing stuff like dock - frontloops - backloop etc etc. Multiple figures in one jump. But this year, we're keeping things simple, as the backflying stuff already seems to be a headache for quite a few people. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

Any news on older FF2's being able to just get a new wider door and bracket inside to fit a camera of the HC range? Or is the box on the 'old' FF2 too short to be retro-fitted? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

website updates - Ive decided to try the spellcheck function, which gave me roughly 200 corrected typos, so the text should actually be readable now. - I've added 3 more animations to the page with the competition jumps. All rounds now have example animations. - Knowing some flyers favour a certain 'good side' in barrelrolls and backfly transitions, you're free to rotate in whichever way you want. As long as the docks and rolls are made as precribed, the direction in which you make them is up to the flyers to decide. - Just in case someone doesnt understand, the objective for each round is to show the figures as often as possible in the contest altitude (up to breakoff at 4500) - Birdman also granted prizes (x3) for the 1st, 2nd and 3d team - Cypress is sponsoring the event with (free), how could it be any different, PINK T-Shirts, especialy made for the event (special thanx to Kaat aka PinkBird for arranging that) We're also going to try and arrange some special seminars at the event: - Manufacturers talking about development. - Top Flyers talking techniques. But most important: - Everyone present talking about idea's for the future. Be it technique, formations or attitude. Idea's and suggestions are welcome. Lets make this an event for the people, by the people :) And ofcourse we expect everyone to bring any frame of video they can find from past jumps to entertain and/or learn. A big group of people with simular intrestst together, so lets talk! Its a meeting of geeks. Just without the GPS this time (although bringing a GPS on a contest jump is allowed, for those who truly cant jump without one, and would start crying if they did) After the event, we want to continue flocking. But not in the the way we're used to. Ofcourse there will be flocks for people will little experience. But we're more excited about setting up several smaller 'project groups'. Small flocks working on certain jumps. Trying new things. Working together to create some awesome visuals, practicing untill they're flown slotperfect. Anyways...check out the website www.wingsuitcompetition.com JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
We going to Europe next summer. I want to try it then!! Google him, and you'll find he actually wants to start making/selling these suits, and organising stuff like this for 'us' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Most stuff is on the site, but Ill be a good boy.. Yup... Exit altitude will most likely be 13.000 ft, seperation altitude 4.500 ft. Fly better, get more time in for the manouvers/docks All manouvres are docks (barrelroll aside), so thats where you score. They have to be flown stable. Any missed docks or manouvres cost you a point (you dont earn a point, and one gets deducted) so skipping the 'tough' figures to go quicker is not going to actually help. Again..its on the site...try reading you lazy american.. But in short yes...we have an exibition round...but it wont be judged or used. First we want to try and get a normal contest, with a very clear judging system. If this all works, we'll see about free round etc next year. Working on that! Yupyup..we're working on lots of cool stuff..even a chance to win an SM1! As long as its judgeable video, done by you as an outside videoman..sure...why not? You can also wear cameras being a performer in the team, but those cams will not be checked for judging. Look at freefly 2 way contests for comparable formats.. My girlfriend is off limits, but anything you find wondering around is yours to hit on.. The contest is in Belgium, which is less liberal as our proud tulip-loving country, but roadtrips before or after the contest can be arranged Yóu'z welcome! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
