Its ok..we're flying big suits...we'll stay aloft.. We do suck at distance flying or anything related to performance ofcourse as we've never seen a rock up close.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I finaly recieved a DVD copy of the item that was playing for a while at all Dutch McDonalds restaurants, and ofcourse it only took a few minutes to convert it to websized vid and upload I was kind enough to translate all the info bubbles to English for all you non-dutch speaking people (still think it should be the next world-language!) Enjoy! http://flylikebrick.com/movies/wingsuits_at_mcdonalds_eng.wmv Tomorrow we're on Dutch TV with a special flyby stunt we did. That'll also make its way online asap ofcourse JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Thats not what Im saying...its the low jumpnumbers and little experience Im talking about...and then using the fact that you practice another branch of the sport as compensation for that, while putting down anyone who's not playing your game JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

the 'maybe hard' truth is that most guys in the big suits are outflying a lot of 'formaly believed to be better' suits... There's definately a HUGE amount of flyers buying the bigger stuff to compensate for certain physical features, but trying to claim it flies like poopoo is definately ignoring reality for a big part.. And no matter how cool the videos are someone puts online of skimming some rocks, or how many hours he studies aerodynamics.. Backing off a little, working on overcoming his insecurities towards anyone not doing 100% like he does, understanding that 'being a rebel' is fun, but saying it every time you open your mouth doesnt buy you a lot of credit, and studying some social interaction and developing a personality seems like a better way to spend his time... And looking down on flocking...most distance flying contests these days seem to be won by those same 'mere flockers' after which a dozen or so ecuses follow why the basers performed so sub-optimal... The whole close proximity flying thing aside...when it comes to performance flying..air is air...and people with 200 times or more the practice (in terms of airtime) are quite likely to be able to fly towards the max of the performance envelope of their wingsuit then someone with less. Base is amazing..you guys do stuff I can only dream off...and in terms of dangers its a whole different ballgame then skydiving....but MAN do some need to get their ego's back in line... My 0 cents....(as Im cheep, and not giving away pennies to anyone who doesnt deserve em) Lots of kisses to Baskjall from the man who likes flying with clogs in his huge scary balloonsuit! For some people, thats the only reason they keep upgrading to higher and higher megapixel cameras, as actually learning to flying closer is something you cant buy in the store JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Ever since the baseforum has been gone, these guys have too much time on their hands...so please be gentle...we dont like seeing crying basejumpers.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

And small addition... Seeing (smelling) the incredibly stinking pieces of mud some people jump, taking the wingsuit off for an accasional bath or wash also wouldnt hurt But agreed...saying you never take the suit off the rig sounds incribly cool JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I detach my suit after every day of jumping, to just put it away more economically. When I put my rig in my gearbag with the wingsuit on, it takes up a lot more space then when I neatly fold the wingsuit and put it away separately. As then, I have more space in my (tandem)gearbag for my helmets, camera, extra sweater, tent, sleepingbag, air-matras, clothes, kite and laptop etc that I usually also carry around when going to the DZ JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I have one of those geeky rubber keyboards that you can easely roll up and wipe clean with a wet towel..
-
Too bad, as there are a lot of skills to be gained in RW and freefly that set wingsuit flyers who have this background appart, skillwise (in a verry positive way) from the rest of the flock who went into wingsuits (seemingly) straight from AFF JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

How to avoid NTSC to PAL conversion "jerking"?
mccordia replied to mircan's topic in Photography and Video
Small handy/funny addition to the often prescribed NTSC>PAL conversion.. (just for freefall portion) Have premiere interprite the NTSC 29,95 fps clip as a 25 fps clip in your source window. This way it wil actually become a few seconds longer, and you'll get a (slight) smooth slowmo 'for free', with no frames added or lost in the 'translation' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

No worries..lots of stuff (mostly loads and loads of text) on the big RW related stuff also coming this way soon.. And even though the 'freefly-ish' style 2 way stuff may sound different, people working more on developing individual flying skills, and working on flyint in smaller tight groups is the BASIS for a lot of the bigger stuff we're always ATTEMPTING.. The compulseries wil be made up out of the following docks/grips/moves - 2 way hand dock, both belly to earth - 2 way hand dock, one belly to earth, one backflying - 2 way hand dock, both backflying - 2 way ankle dock, one flyer docking on the ankle of the other flyer. So 99% of what the teams have to do is there already: But we'll also be adding the complete dives to the site this coming week We want all the teams to have equal oppertunity to practice, so we can really have a contest where everyone is flying to the max, also so we can show 'the outside world' we can do more then one wobbly grip and zooming past eachother a dozen times during one dive.. Some teams may ofcourse get 500 practicejumps in, in the coming few months, others only 5 or maybe even none. Thats why we included a training/practice day also at the start of the contest, for ad-hoc teams that have never met (and to get to know the DZ in terms of navigation) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

Contact them if youre interested in also joining in on the fun! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
folding wasnt the issue... Just when you look at a wing starting at the crotch, and sewn from there to the back of the legs, this puts the legwing at a slight upward angle.. Unless you're going for a wing attached to the back of the leg, but to heels. Kinda like the GS1 had. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

We'll show you what this flying euro-trash brick team is capable off hehehe Though Loic and the Soulflyers are looking into the dates for coming (depends on filming dates for other projects etc), and a certain James B is also looking for teammembers. So it'll definitely be a real contest, and no milk runs for anyone..! The new scoring system also means it will stay exciting till the very last round (read more about that on the website) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

It sounds like the same legwing we had on the prototype Blades we jumped in Spain. The only problem we had with the legwing of the back was that it was a it harder to put on the power when you really wanted to fly it hard. You had to almost overstretch your legs to get the legwing to form a straight wing. And even then the end of the legwing would always point upward a little, bleeding air out of the back. Which is why we suggested changing that. But the legs hanging beneath the wing did definately make it the most stable suit we've flown in a long time.. Real curious to see more R&D in that department.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Dude..if you really need 10 minutes to sew up two wings on a 'classic' style suit, I suggest you get some thumbs and fingers attached to your hands? 3 or so minutes is all it takes...granted the zipper system saves time..but 10 minutes? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
