We've flown 3 rodeos together about two years back at teuge (johan, saskia and me being the flyers if I recall) Two got together. The third one had a bit of a tumble on exit and lost quite a lot of altitude. But its definately not impossible. Steve and Duncan did a 2 way in spain, with 2 chicks on the back and flew within a meter of eachother all the way.. If people nail the exit, the actual flying of a 2, 3 or even 4 way would not be completely impossible. Trying to chase another rodeo, as a rodeo flyer, just feels like youre driving a big truck...not completely responsive to all your imputs..but roughly doing what you want it to. Texel changed their plans for loadorganising, number of people coming, altitude jumped etc so frequently that nobody really knew what was going on. Up to the last point, we got told to come to texel, and then again stay home because they cancelled the boogie. etc etc. In the end, everyone (I think) decided on the safe option...which is not going... Too bad, as the weather was incredible. But when a DZ organises a boogie, some basic info on if its actually happening is always nice if you expect people to show up JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Though a helmet with a bracket is cheeper, then the fully enclosed FF2, you'll be saving a lot of money in the long run. As camera-life is definately a lot shorter when mounted 'outside' unprotected. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Leave your wingsuit partner out of it for a few jumps...just relax, and dont ad the 'stressy' factor of letting your buddy film you, warning him when to roll, trying to fly relative to him etc. Do a couple of jumps just trying the barrelroll...videi is great for debrief, but just getting 'the feeling' is most important. Just relax..do some solos trying this...and worry about the camera again later... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I never ditched you...we where flocking and all of a sudden you where with the freefly boys...we dont tollerate that kind of unfaithfull behaviour Anyways...Spa..its going to be good! And we'll try and get everyone to fly a slot, and fly it tight! And good parties and video every night! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

It seems to mostly be your recovery... If you look at your roll, you're doing fine up untill 3/4 into your roll. You come out a little headlow, which is not that big a problem, but (like pierre says) you then start to push to hard on the wings. And as a result even completely collaps the armwings. Make your roll, and then, open up fully, and keep the armwings open. No matter what happens. Quite often the last part of our fly-like-brick videos says 'dont forget to smile', which is just a silly way of saying...relax.. Being too tense can quite often cause these rolls to not go completely as you want. When you're flying...take a nice deep breath...relax....and then slowly do your barrelroll. Dont try to forcefully push yourself over quickly...just let it all happen slowly. And as soon as you start coming out..open your armwings...and let it fly...dont start to emmidiately counter and correct moves that havent happened yet. Just like an airplane, it takes one or two seconds for your actions to actually happen. So dont overcorrect...when you are back belly to earth, coming out of your rotation (or just before) go back to your normal flying posture/position...and let it fly for a few seconds before you start to respond to any moves/twists etc. A standard reaction to instability is usualy collapsing (or pushing) on the armwings...which is quite often excactly whats causing the headlow drop that follows... And even though we 'make it look easy', remember that we also learnt to do those with a lot weird turns and 'stylistic' manouvres before they went right. All the info about 'what not to do' in thos videos is firsthand experience in doing it wrong...more then once JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Outlandings happen, but they shouldnt happen any more often then on 'normal' jumps (without a wingsuit) If playing with other people in the sky prevents someone from finding his/her way back to the dropzone, some more solos, training on learning to fly a patern is definately needed. But then again..being able to safely fly a 2 way, tight, from exit to breakoff, and slowly working your way up to bigger formations, is also whats needed skillwise before you go on a 20/40/60 way, and thats also still not really catching on... Check the classifieds on dropzone.com or the 2nd hand section at flylikebrick.com or contact rolf brombach at rolf.brombach@freenet.de and email him your sizes (he helps link people up with suits for sale/looking for suits) Posting your sizes in cm/kg also helps for those who live in europe JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Just buying an 'old' GTi, S3 or something else you can pick up for a few bucks and learning to fly it wel would be a great option. Though some people have unlimited funds, a cheep used suit, and spending the rest of the money on jumps is what Id recommend. Suits keep their vallue pretty good. So after a while, you'll be able to sell your starter-suit and fet something new with an informed mind (as you wil probably have tried a few different suits by them) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Aero-Engineering Moves Closer to Us Wing Suit Pilots
mccordia replied to ScottGray's topic in Wing Suit Flying
the stuff we fly has a 'distorted' wing-area...not a modifyable.. We can only go from barely flying to not flying at all by changing the shape...those (model) planes have 10 times better glide then we have JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
Official boogie organising, and Jari and/or Andy Ford may also be there (Texel is working out details on that as we speak) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

ok, just got off the phone with texel. I told them people are coming there for the extra altitude, so they agreed to keep it high altitude (normal altitude is 12.5 K here) The altitude will be 15.000 ft all weekend, and they will aim for a few 'special' higher loads on top of that. Alejandro (FlyLikeBrick.com) will be doing loadorganising for fri/sat/sunday (arriving thursday) I'll also try and get an extra Blade demo with him for people willing to try. You can stay at www.hoteldekievit.nl (give em a call, tell em you're a skydiver) or Karin (aka Kaat) also found a nice cheap place to stay, maybe post some info on that here? The aim for the weekend is small group and good tight technical flying. If you're coming to texel, please send an email to flylikebrick@gmail.com, so we have a bit of an idea what to expect. if you're interested in a first flight course, let us know, and we'll work on getting your sorted! 500 jumps is a rough guideline...just as its possible to have 1000 jumps in 1 year just swooping, and not actually having freefall experience...too many variables.. There is also such a thing a common sense... Sadly, low experience (remembering myself) usually means a less honest and true view on your own actual skills and awareness.. Low jumpnumbers...low experience....wingsuits....(especialy without proper instruction...stupid! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think most people prefer "OMFG this suit is so f*ckin fast" data over actual numbers JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Just a reminder.. This boogie is only a month away (last few days of august, first few days in Sept), and a nice alternative (or addition to your wingsuit-boogie scedule) for people who are not going to texel (me..*sigh*) We will be at Spa, as part of the ToraTora fly free boogie, doing organising and 1 on 1 coaching. Nice flocking jumps with a lot of time spent on briefing and debriefing, and in addition, some hybrid jumps with the atmonauti crew may be done as wel for those interested! High speed exits from the Casa are also an option for those wanting try and surf above the plane for a first time! For more info on Skydive Spa, check out there website.. http://www.skydivecenterspa.be/main.asp?visitor=pro&l=en Its only a short distance from German border, France border, and yes..even doable from Holland... Nighly partying and big extensive video of the day and Boogie DVD are part of this (almost) weeklong boogie! For those willing to give it a try, we will be bringen demo Blades! Be there or be square!
