  1. Thats a pretty positive/sweet item. And lots of cool shots! good stuff! Nicely linked with the new batman movie (which is gonna be sweet btw). Which reminds me to ask Jeff/Tony if the batman suit for that guy doing school-demos is done yet. Was quite interested in seeing that one. But regarding the head-on 2 way wingsuit/canopy pass with smoke. Did I just blink or look away at the wrong time, or isnt it in this item? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Looking cool, talking BS online, and trying to look like the one who invented the dicipline? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Ive been jumping this type of smoke-bracket for quite a while (older version Bo made) and its no issue at all wearing this under a wingsuit bootie. Thats what he actually made the thing for..so no worries there.. The smoke canister itself sticks out nicely to the side, free of fabric. Still turns your white wingsuit a nice shade of orange when you open your canopy and the thing is still happely puffing smoke, but still ;) Jlo is sending me one of his updated mounts next week. 4. I have ex girlfriends say the same thing... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Joe Jennings (highly skilled skydiver) did the same thing with a camera-suit, and ended up 'surfing' behind the plane nicely. Felix Baumgartner (highly..ehm..advertised skydiver) did it, and nearly destroyed a nice WWII bomber in the process of trying. I think Felix went with an attachment to the rings on the harnas (normal riser attachment), and Jennings had a hip or chest attachment (lower on the body). Jennings also had a small plane (C172 if I remember correctly) and did it at slower airspeeds first. Definately lots of room for experimentation if you have a good insurance policy and dont use antique aircraft JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Old thread, but since the smoke question comes up quite often... Based on BO's smoke-bracket, JLO (another team member of our funky bunch) has created a commercialy available bracket. See attached picture. He also has one with a cutaway. PM me for the link to his site (dont want to venture into advertising too deep) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. In the weekend of 13/14 September our wonderful little wingsuit team will be at Skydive Rotterdam (Netherlands). At your service! The craziest dropzone in the whole world. Get on a bus, pas customs, get on a plane, fly over the city, jump with the sea and city of Rotterdam as a backdrop. Land, get on ANOTHER bus (on which we debrief, so time is used wisely) and then finaly arrive back at the club, to grab a bite, brief and go up for the next one. How often do you need a passport and pass through customs to jump. For anyone who wants to try and fly a wingsuit for the first time, for those who want to get some 1 on 1 coaching to work on flocking, backflying or camera-geeking skills, and for those who just want to have a full jump dedicated to having video or pictures taken of him/herself for shameless self-promotion and lovin'! Skydive Rotterdam will pay HALF of the instructors slot, and we are doing our usual free coaching/instruction. Suit rental is also free for this weekend. So for a few extra euro's, you get the full package! We will also have some demo/trackingsuits with us for those not yet ready to fly, or scared of zipping themself up in wings. We will do a FFC briefing on friday and saterday evening, so we dont waste time in the morning, and are ready to fly on load #1. For those coming from far, my house (15 mins away from the DZ) is always open to stay. Bring a nice video and a drink, and you have yourself a bed For more information and questions about the required skill/level, drop us a line at flylikebrick@gmail.com or send me a PM. 8. Look at the scores tristan, robi, james etc set at different competitions all around. Sometimes its not even close to 1.6, other times its close to 3.0 or even over. Comparing results within one competition is possible as long as there are no sudden changes in wind/jumprun etc. But comparing competition results from different locations, with different weather conditions/jumpruns is not really possible. If you want to have compareable results, build a 4 km high, 12 km long enclosed hangar, and have all future competitions there.. If skyjester could do a few less MIG rides per year, maybe he'd be willing to finance JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjojJgErUsk Check this video (4:12 and onward). Some pretty darn sweet flying there.. Also check the other films on http://www.youtube.com/outdoorgamestv Sadly we lost one of our fellow birds at this festival... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Though burbling Mike is probably good fun, wouldnt seperating 'over' the base-flyer be a better plan? Someone in the (lower) back suddenly getting a bunch of spinning Nylon (or parapak these days) in his face sounds like less of a good idea..? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Dude! Thats Awesome!! Works on so many levels! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  13. wingsuit tandem A double wingsuit tandem, jumped at the GoFast wingsuit boogie 2007 (hungary). Due to movement between the passenger and tandemmaster, the heading was 'ever-evolving', and it was the most active chasing Ive ever had to do across the sky. Not the coolest of pictures, but the double wingsuit tandem looks funky.. tandem flyby More a dive-by than a fly-by, but it was a cool stunt for a TV program in Holland. Its always fun showing this picture, and people looking at it like "yea..soo..its a tandem?" only spotting the wingsuit between the lines (roughly 2 meters in front of the canopy) after looking at it again TG an72 Cool people doing cool things.. There is nothing like flying with friends, and trying new things (new to us as a team) and coming down with the biggest smiles ever when it all works as planned or even better ukraine let Cool exit, climbing slighly above the plane after exit. Just one of the coolest things to do beach opening a cool step by step shot of a wingsuit opening, on a beach jump in Holland empuria One of the many cool pix David took over Spain. I could fill 2 walls in my house with wingsuit pictures shot by David. Though odly enough, 1 staticline jump-landing of me under a 280 sq/ft canopy and an IKEA basejump poster is all I have there.. Could probably continue for an hour like this, as one of the best ways to get loads of shots is to not BUY a camera..but spend that money on jumps and FLY in front of other peoples cameras.. Mike could probably teach seminars on that subject.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. a ferk...what Im really saying is Kriz and Yuri should quit crying about performance, and watch my tail as I cruise off into the sunset (better?) Dang what you have to do these days to get a bit of a rebelious image... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Do you numbers guys ever get any actual fun out of jumps, or is it all just advanced math and bitching about the crotch of a suit being 3 cm's too short and badly designed inlets causing bad inflation (due to being covered by a loosely worn rig/cheststrap) Not really a direct reply to this post, but more one for 'the numbers folks' in general... The feeling you land with, the feeling you have when you think about your last jump, and the dreams that last jump (or I should say 'flight') gives you at night is a 1000 times more important then the exel sheet with numbers that rolls out of your GPS.. If your last jump feels like the best jump you made in your whole life, than thats 100% what it was....even though there's no doubt always a a bigger fish that somebody else caught, and within 5 posts, somebody will be able to fly circles around you in his birthday-suit while flying on his back with 2 fingers up his nose while reading a book A lot of people doing their first flight dont do all that well in terms of performance. But when they come down screaming about how awesome the feeling of flying was...should my answer be "Dude..rrrrright..that wasnt even close to a 1.5 glideratio, and my grandmother does better on a bad wednesday while flying into a headwind"? As that is sometimes the feeling some of these posts tend to air.. As the flight of the concords sayd it beautifully...be more constructive with your critisism JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. Id be more interested in a ground-speed race...actually using the wingsuit JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Dude...looks like the crewbirds are going to sue you for logo-stealing http://www.crewbirds.com/images/crewbirds_logo_web.gif JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Isnt every list here just a group of people hoping to be there...where in the end a whole other group of people shows up and actually has fun A large group of germans/french etc doesnt post/use the net as much as 'we' do. If you really want to know, shoot Rolf an email, and he should be able to tell you the # of registered birds from the boogie organisers list.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Thats way damn sweet guys..!! Awesomeness! Id even go as far as calling this the current bigway record! Even distances all throughout the formation, everyone in their slot, nobody out, and nicely stretched legs! Way to go! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. You do know you need to have friends to fly with to make it fun JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Forgot to credit those..though they are listed with the video on skydivingmovies.com and flylikebrick.com where you watch/download the video. But yea...Im not being 100% correct on using copyrighted music for these things anyways...so a big booboo on my behalf... Feel free to play this or any other video on your DZ. Thats why we slap it online on our website in the first place... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Heyhey, The weather didnt coperate the last few weeks, but I finaly made the first few jumps on my Storm(150) the past weekend. The openings are nice and crisp, not taking as long as the Spectre. For those that prefer slighly quicker/snappy-er openings (though definately not hard) it rocks. But the same on-heading performance you're used to from the previous PD 7 cell. I loved how it flies. Really light toggle pressure, really quick on the turns and dives, much more swoopable in general. Though the real swoop fanatics will of course favour a 'true' swooping canopy. But compared to the spectre, a bit and fun step up. The slighly deeper flare you need to land took me a bit of getting used to, but all in all..I like it a lot, and this is what Ill be flying for many, many wingsuit jumps to come. But here's what the stack looks like after removing the top order form Keep those hands above the cutting table man and seriously..great work guys...wish all other manufacturers would be as 'on the ball' as you guys are when it comes to production-time) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. 100% agreed...you tell them to get coaching in their flying, untill they reach the skilllevel where they can safely fly HD, with full awereness of whats happening around them.. Just like I tell someone with barerly any skydiving experience at all to get some more jumps and/or coaching...just not in a wingsuit yet... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Ive just finished the video from the Empuria Flocking event from past May. We had fun, and I think the video shows it. Everyone that was there, a big thank you for everything. We definately need to repeat this one next year in May! Enjoy! FlyLikeBrick.com - streaming FlyLikeBrick.com - download SkydivingMovies.com - download (available as soon as its approved) For those wondering, my full attention is now on getting the complete 1 hour WS Comp. video out there. But I had some tech/judging thingies I had to look at before I could finish that one. So a bit more patience..but it'll be worth it..promise And within a few days we should also have out first guest-author article online on our site (by Robert aka ROK) so keep an eye on our website, or sign up for our newsletter (monthly news on ws events etc) through flylikebrick@gmail.com p.s. Our FLB server is a cheap one, and every now and again it disconnects when you're downloading/watching streaming videos. If it stops halfway through, just download again and it should work.
