I ran it by our ad guys, who took it to the Adtuition people, and it looks like they fixed something on their end. Those ads are in iFrames, so it was probably something like what's in the link above. That's my best guess right now! J

Same story. Similar format and wording. Previous warnings in existence. ------------------ Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled. -
Good to hear. Thx!

If it's IE, please check here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3432621;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#3476145

I think this is a combination of an IE feature (click when pages load/reload) and our ads. The ads are in things called iframes, and each one of those gets its own click from IE. If I'm right, then this may help. You can turn off the click noise, but still be able to hear the things you want to hear. http://www.techimo.com/forum/general-tech-discussion/185191-how-do-i-turn-off-sound-ie7-when-webpages-refresh.html

Gotcha. Same problem?
-
I'm experiencing the same problem, and only when on this site. Erroll, are you also using IE 6?
-
This is not the end of this, but I do have some news. What I'm hearing is that this looks like a problem between IE 6 and Adtuition. One of the Gossamer folks mentioned that IE 6 is old enough that even Microsoft doesn't support it anymore (it debuted in 2001). I have folks checking with Adtuition to see if there's anything they can do to help, but -- and I don't mean to get all finger pointy here; this is just a suggestion -- it might also be a good idea to upgrade your browser to something more recent.
-
Nope, got some things being worked on today over on Rockclimbing.com, but my pages are loading fine. I've forwarded this on to Gossamer. Hang tight.
-
In the meantime, if you could let me know here what browser you're using, that might help.
-
Interesting. I'm not getting the same problem, but I'll run this by folks in the know and see if they have an answer for it.

Did you see his rocks hit the camera lens hard?

I second this! Third. One of the benefits of living in the woods.

Yeah, I feel pretty much the same, except I don't care for Kurt Warner.

He can still see it as a "guest." He just can't log in.

Hmm... I thought the DZ country list was the master list. This might take a hair longer. Bear with me. J
-
I hope I didn't overstep my self-imposed bounds. I make it a rule not to moderate DZ forums. But I also make it a rule to axe Classified abusers on sight. It was a gray area. BTW, the answer to that venerable question depends entirely on the age of the lion and the length and actual temperature of the fork. In some circumstances, it might set the lion a-purring.

Okay, it's all set. Thanks for the heads up.
-
Ah, gotcha. Let me see what I can do.

You're lying. And, your username has been disabled for selling fake Rolexes in our Classifieds. Go to Hell.

I think I found out the problem. I had hit my 1000-message quota. Can you believe that? You people and your requests for support. Sheesh.

Buyer Scams: Western Union and Certified "Cheques"
j_ung replied to j_ung's topic in Security and Scam Alerts
The fake buyer won't wire you money through Western Union, he'll send you a counterfeit Western Union money order or a fake cheque, which will be made out for far more than the agreed upon price. He will then ask you to wire the excess to a "shipper" or somebody else via Western Union or some other similar service. It's happening in our Classifieds right now, as we speak: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3468417;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread
