Wow, you are actually the first person I have ever seen take up for Hillary Clinton. I'm writing this down in my diary!
-
You misunderstood the tone or something. Try reading it with a slightly sarcastic rising inflection. Then if you have any further problems PM me and I'll explain further. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
-
That is probably because the only thing you ever say on this forum about the US is negative. If I continually ridicule someone or some organization most people will eventually start to believe that I dislike them. Ultimately, we are responsible for the security of our nation, not the rest of the world. The French, Germans, and Russians did a good job of selling an economically motivated opposition to a war as a moral opposition. We didn't fight the propoganda war as well. That is the major problem. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

I think that would be the UK. Read between the lines on what is going on between the US and China not on what is being said by the diplomats. They are trying their best to become a world power. They realize that they need to get along with us, at least nominally, until they are able to achieve that status. Once they get there we're going to have problems. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

I didn't say it I copied it from United States Code ie Federal Law. Militia consists of the organized militia ie the National Guard, and the unorganized militia ie every other male US citizen between certain ages that owns a weapon. If you need it broken down any further you'll need to hire a lawyer.
-
Well, it was there but it wasn't called the National Guard. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
-
And you too. Wouldn't want to leave you out. This is a popularity contest isn't it? "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

Done plenty of reading. Studied the evolution of the modern US Army extensively in college (it was part of my curriculum). The NG is the modern day equivalent of the old militia. They have the same mission it is just more organized today. Try this: Quote is taken from here http://www.sgaus.org/ Also check out this: Point taken? Of course I am not talking about these "New World Order" freaks running around the woods of Virginia claiming the Jews are running the world. They call themselves militias too.
-
Thanks but we already have plenty of countries in line begging for our help. You'll have to wait your turn. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

I personally think it's hilarious. Who was going to protect them while they worked on the contract? They are not willing to send any troops. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

A couple of beers and a shot of taquila and you should be all better! "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

The militia and the current NG are considered to be the same thing. They are both composed of citizen soldiers whose main mission is to defend the borders of the country. The NG is just the modernized and, supposedly, better trained version of the old militia necessitated by the increasing complexity of the modern battlefield. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

Always the positive one.
-
While I agree with what you are saying I would change it to "Because we don't want a war with China". China is basically already our enemy. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
-
It's not as clear cut as you're trying to make it. There were people saying there was evidence to support it and people saying the evidence was incorrect. Here is one story about the situation: http://www.townhall.com/columnists/robertnovak/rn20030714.shtml "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

You're reaching. A lot of people are making the accusation but it is all a political game aimed at tarnishing his reputation. I've still not seen anything conclusive including these links you just posted. Quick examples from your links: Those aren't stating that he lied. They are trying to state, with no facts, that he was incorrect but not that he lied. A person lies when they make a statement of fact that they know is false at the time that they make it. Just because they are later proven wrong does not make them a liar. It makes them incorrect. To me that is a big difference. If we were called a liar everytime we were incorrect then no one could claim to have any integrity. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

I'll assume you are just being cynical. My father was a politician for 16 years. I saw the crap he had to put up with from the general public. It's amazing anyone even wants those jobs. They are completely thankless. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
-
I'm asking you to give proof that he lied. You said he lied didn't you? Is this based on any proof or just a gut feeling? Before I call someone a liar I try to have my facts straight. Seems to me this might be a politically based accusation rather than a factual one. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
-
Please do. There is a difference between lying and being wrong. It still is not conclusive that he was wrong though. I think you are assuming that he gave incorrect information knowingly. Do you have any conclusive proof of this? "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

Too ra Loo ra? "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

Rounders is close but not baseball. Baseball is an evolution of rounders. Bottom line is it wasn't invented in Canada or by a Canadian. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
-
Is this in Bizzaro World? Baseball was invented in the US. See this http://www.hickoksports.com/history/baseba02.shtml Actually, it was invented by a Canadian in the US, Springfield, Mass to be more exact. Velcro is a Swiss invention. http://www.engology.com/eng5mestral.htm Penicillin was discovered by Sir Andrew Flemming from Scotland. The phone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell who was born in Scotland, moved to Ontario, then to the US where he invented the telephone. A Canadian discovered Insulin, he didn't invent it. LOL, we'll ignore the impressment of US sailors onto British ships to fight in the war between Britain and France, the attack on the USS Chespeake in 1810 by the British which the US let slide, and the interference of trade between the US and France at the time. Canadians have a lot of things to be proud of but their research skills isn't one of them. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

LOL, I agree and I am a cop (with a gun). As for as non-lethal alternatives, there are no 100% effective non-lethal alternatives. Submission holds are outlawed by lots of forces because they have killed, batons have killed, bean bags have killed, tazers are very inaccurate and have a short range, OC spray doesn't work on some people, very nasty farts only incapacitate momentarily. Study up before you start expecting the impossible (not talking to you Jimbo). Police forces don't have unlimited budgets, unlimited space in their vehicles or on their gun belts, or unlimited training time. They pick a few tools that are the most effective and use them. They are not going to pay for a very expensive, untested weapon, that only works on some people. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

I would think you would be worried about a 350 man kicking your ass, grabbing your gun, and shooting you until you stopped bleeding. The cops had to arrest the guy. It's there job and, based on his condition and state of mind, he was a threat to others. They are authorized to use the required force to make that arrest. All of their strikes were in non-lethal locations. They weren't trying to kill him. If I were placed in the same situation I probably would have shot the guy. I don't know for sure though because I wasn't there. He was big enough to cause death or serious injury to me and he was trying to cause death or serious injury. The requirements for the use of force, in my department, are "the officer has probable cause to believe that the person poses an imminent threat of death or serious injury to the officer or others". I really don't think the officers were concerned with past history in the middle of this fight. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

I'm saving them for you Rick. I'll bring it to the dropzone next weekend. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin
