You can't even get Red Bull here in Canada. But its some good shit. Was up drinking pretty hard almost every night down in AZ, and up early almost every morning for Airspeed camp. Slam a couple Red Bull's and no more hangover. I got nuthin

0:7:1 7 jumps at 2 different DZs. 1 case of beer owed for beer line violation. I didn't know the rules, I was just following everybody else. Except everybody else on that load has 1000+ jumps at least, they're allowed to land there I got nuthin

The boss just told me there may be an opportunity coming up in New Iberia Louisiana. I don't think I'm going to get the transfer to Texas I've been hoping for, and this may be the closest thing. Anybody have any knowledge of this area? What kind of DZs in the area, what's there for towns? I got nuthin

I'm no expert by any means, but I think 1.13 is pushing it more than I'd like to see somebody with 27 jumps. Again, I'm not an expert, and there are other things to consider besides wing-loading. Talk to your instructors, experienced jumpers on the DZ, the DZO and S&TA. See what they have to say. I got nuthin

Are you responsible for your customer's gear choices?

Out of curiosity, how often to you refuse somebody? Do they generally take advice from you and go bigger, or do they hang up in a huff? I got nuthin -
My only chop to date was tension knots. Before I had it, I'd stuff the slack on the lines into the cigar roll while packing, so that my line stows would be cleaner. I tried to shake it out with the risers, but it started turning right as I was shaking the left, so I said byebye. In retrospect, popping the brakes may have cleared it, but it's too late for that now. I got nuthin

I havn't heard 'Picked a fine time to fail me' in sooooo long. I only know the chorus, but it's my fav to sing in the plane (when there's no students of course). Some guys at the home DZ wrote 'Friends in high places' to the tune of Garth Brooks, 'Friends in low places'. It's a great fire song. I got nuthin

It isn't fair to say it only does one thing. If you're going to simplify it so, then at least say it does two things. 1: the function of monitoring altitude and vertical speed and possibly activating the cutter. 2: There is another microprocessor in there that's constantly running diagnostics And where a $1200 computer is likely to lock up every once in a while, Cypres is (hopefully) much more reliable to do it's 'one thing' when it is needed. Just did a search on Blade Runner here and found this post. Thought I'd throw in my .02. I got my 150 about 20 jumps ago and I love it. I'm loading at about 1.3. Very fun canopy. I hear you on the off-heading openings though. Edit: Chute shop website - http://hopputrustning.com/chuteshop/ Second edit: I'm a retard. Didn't even clue in that Canuck is Pete. The 150 he and I speak of are one in the same I got nuthin

Unfortunately for the vast majority of Canadian skydivers, we're confined to small Cesnas for the most part, and gear checks with seatbelts on ain't gonna happen. Often it's enough of a challenge just to get enough room to check your handles. OTOH, most of the Canadian DZs I've been to are either small municipal airports, or grass strips used solely for jump planes, so air traffic is a very small issue. I got nuthin

Because the door was open? I do really trust that pilot, and if he'd said the spot was good I would've trusted him. He was open about being just as lost as the rest of us though I got nuthin

So we're getting ready to exit on Sunday, 3-way RW and trying to find the DZ through a little 'industrial haze'. We're all looking for the DZ without too much luck, and the pilot is saying he has to descend right away, so this is jump run. So we're blind, trying to figure out where the hell the DZ is at, when all of a sudden it's spotted...WAYYYYYYY the fuck west of us. So much for the 3-way, we're going trackin'. I was last out, watched the other guys disappear through the clouds (which were above 9 grand) and just start tracking westward. We get out of the clouds and I immediately spot Andrew, far enough away that it's not a worry at this point. So now, my head's on a swivel for Dave. Where is he, where is he, oh shit that's a pilot chute, I'm dumping. I did flare out a bit, but I still had enough momentum that letting go of the PC was instant pain. I'm pretty sure my ribs are bruised, and my arms and legs are sore as hell too. And that's my story of stupidity from this weekend. I'm too sore to do much else right now, so I thought I'd share this with ya. I got nuthin

1: I was very new to town, some people from school had a trip going, seemed like a good way to meet people. 2: Three years, seven days and 268 jumps 3: The people. Almost every person I've met in this sport, in some small way, makes my alcoholism seem less raging
