    Is anyone....?

I'm at work, on lunch break. Hopefully this afternoon I'll have something to do other than lurk here though, it gets boring pretty quick. I got nuthin
  3. 2500 min, but I'd like 3500. I've been doing a lot of hop-n-pops lately for financial reasons, and I'm trying to get my swoop dialed in, and twice last weekend I had to shake my risers to get the canopy out of the cigar roll. I've started rolling the tail a little less I got nuthin
  4. It's against my religion to leave the DZ with my rig packed. If I'm on my way out I'd rather sit back and have a beer then pack. I usually pack Thursday nights and hit the DZ Friday. I got nuthin
  5. When I laid my canopy down for the cigar roll, I used to 'milk' excess line under the tail. I had a chop due to tension knots and was told by a master rigger that it was very possible that this was the cause. Now I'm just a little more carefull about getting the lines straight and orderly before I lay it down, and a little less picky about the line stows looking perfect. I got nuthin

    I can't stop!!!!!

The vacuum is good, and isn't a factor here b/c we're seeing the problem when the car is off ie: No power assist. I'll take it to one of those places first thing Monday, but it just ain't an option until then. I got nuthin

    I can't stop!!!!!

Ok, I can stop, but it takes too long for my liking. My brakes are starting to go on my Sprint. The pedal is real spongy, and it doesn't seem to be grabbing untill it's damb near to the floor. We bled them, no change. Yesterday we changed the master cylinder, then bled them again with a suction gun. I'm seriously amazed at how long we spent on each wheel before we were consistently getting clean fluid and no air. But after about 6 hours of messing with it, it ain't much better than when we started. We know we've got a good MC, and the lines from the MC down are good. I'm not real mechanical, but a couple of friends of mine who know their shit are baffled. Any mechanical types got some suggestions? I got nuthin
  8. :5:1 5 jumps including first CReW. Did a 3-stack on Sat. Was fun as hell. If I had the cash I'd have a Lightning on the way. I got nuthin
  9. I'm fairly certain that as I'm posting this there is a Twin Otter en Route to Canadian Skydive Centre. It'll be a nice change from 182s for the weekend. Unfortunately, my poor ass can't afford to spend the weekend there, cause I know I'm gonna piss away $500minimum that I just don't have right now. Dah well, I'll go down for a jump or two tonight, then Edmonton Skydive for the weekend, and pack all the Mantas that ain't bein packed cause all the packers are jumping the Otter. And as I'm sure not too many people on here give a rat's ass I apoligize for this, but I needed to vent. Thanks for listenin
  10. Usually I have some nerves. I find it strange that every once in a while I get kinda freaked on the way to altitude, but I always make myself jump anyways (some people say that feeling is a sign something will go wrong, but I have horrible intuition anyways). I always have a split second of fear right when I let go of my PC. Only twice in 293 jumps has my PC failed to get me a canopy without me helping it a little. I got nuthin
  11. You said the 'F' wordBEEEEEERRRR!!!!! Seriously, glad to hear you're OK man. And seriously, you owe beer I got nuthin
  12. At the DZ I learned at they use ripcord deployed mains for FF and S/L. As far as line twists on S/L go, I don't think I've done a jump without them, including jumps as a dummy student long after I was off the dope rope. As well, in the 90 some jumps I put on Mantas before I could afford my own rig, I've seen a spring-loaded PC over the nose many times. Never caused me a problem, other than being a little strange to look at. I got nuthin
  13. I hooked up my first rig from www.actionair.com. They were really helpful and easy to deal with. I don't know too much about his operation, but try doing a search on 'Call Ralph'. He's another used dealer. Good luck

    Clear hackey

I don't want it to be heavy, I want it filled with sand for the sake of it being filled with sand from back home. If you read my last post I was actually trying to think of a way to decrease the weight. I got nuthin
  15. Assuming everything besides the danger factor was still the same, I'd keep on jumping. One downside I could see would be the types of people who'd start getting into it. All of the ignorant people who will never ever jump because they once read about somebody dieing might start showing up at the DZ. Personally, I think the threat of danger keeps many people away that we want to stay away. Just my $.02 And remember, 'It's not a real sport unless you can die from massive internal trauma' I got nuthin

    Clear hackey

If you say it'd be too heavy, I'll take your word as golden. What would you think about a ping-pong ball or something similar in the middle, surrounded by sand. I jump a Reflex (I promise my next rig will be Vector), and the spandex BOC mouth is fairly tight. I got nuthin

    Clear hackey

How long it lasts is my main concern. It'd suck the day I go for the pull and there's nothing but nylon to grab hold of. I got nuthin

    Clear hackey

I'm trying to figure out if there's a way I can get a clear hackey made, and filled with sand from the ocean at my home town. I emailed my rigger, and he's open to trying something but has no idea how to go about it. Any thoughts? I got nuthin
  19. First off, I don't mean this as advertising in the forums, so I hope nobody gets pissed off thinking that's what I'm trying to do. My Cypres fired about a month ago. I was sure I was in the saddle (under reserve after a spinner) by 1500'. The good folks at Airtec, however, beg to differ. Anyways, my Cypres was made 12 years ago next March, which means it is good untill the end of next June, just about a year from now. For the $108 to get a new set of cutters, plus shipping up here I don't see it as being worth getting back in comission. If for some reason anybody here does see a benifit to this, you're more than welcome to it. It's an expert 1-pin. If you'd like it, PM me. I'd just hate to see it go to waste, and figure some newbie piecing together their first rig might be needing one cheap to get started. I got nuthin
  20. 1:1:0 Shitty weather all weekend. We made it to 3500 Friday night before the ceiling really moved in. I got nuthin

  22. Jump #170, night jump when it was wayyyyy too dark. After the plane spun for a good 5000' out of control, he got it flying again and I decided it was time to leave. Too dark to see the ground, too stupid to go half brakes. Hit the ground full flight, broke a tooth, got concussed pretty good and scratched the shit out of my face. Got some other minor injuries, usually due to things equally as stupid. I got nuthin
