just got back last night from 5 days of jumping at san marcos and spaceland. had to take a day off to come back and register for summer classes. then back to houston tomorrow for 4 more days. the gravity rats festival kicked ass. special thanks to robert and brian for hosting such a great event. i learned more last weekend at san marcos than i have learned in awhile. most of the dives i did there were the most challenging i have done so far. that bigway was very cool. stevie, trent, jed, eric, zak and i did a 6-way version of that bigway at spaceland tuesday. the exit went perfect. also stevie, trent, jed and i have been working one of the 4-ways and a few variations of it all week. lot of excitement for some bigways at spaceland the week of the 14th thru 16th. there will be 2 casas and 3 otters. and also some 120-ways goin on. since it hasn't been posted yet. here's the results of the freefly competiton (names and home dz) and the bigway participants (unofficial state record) 1st place: kimmie and paul sdsm 2nd place: john and brandon sdd 3rd place: goat and scott sdd 4th place: rodger and kyle sdh 5th place: ramon and levin sdsl bigway: brian, robert, goat, john, brandon, kimmie, paul, raymond and levin. outside video by ramon who's going to skydive houston and spaceland for the casas and bigways? levin gr40 hey ann...where's that video?

ever since i got my suit i've wondered if it would hold you in place with out the leg straps and/or chest strap. i guess now i know. i can't see how somebody could not know there legstraps were not on, even in a bird-man suit.

sometimes after a reserve deployment you might not have time to do anything but get ready to land. but in that case your stuff (or at least your freebag) should be close by.

ann a temporary membership is only $8. you should not have left. i put myself on that load to jump with you. i took you off when you obviously weren't going to make it so that you didn't get charged for it. i would have bought your temp membership and jump had i known what was going on before you left. andree was disappointed that you left. i'm sure you could have gotten the temp membership and paid him back the $8 later. no reason to leave.

i have to disagree with this statement. i have a little 109 reserve to match my little main. i certainly wouldn't want to be upside down or flipping head over heels when it deployed.

in that track contest i did 79 and trey did 77. that was on the skydiver air speed setting on the pro-track not true air speed. the dz is at sea level. i'm wondering how slow i can go in my birdsuit. will have to borrow a pro-track and find out.

from my experience in the past working in the pro-shop at spaceland these helmets fit best on people with wider heads. they are comfortable but a little heavier than most other helmets on the market. the low neck in the back may make them a poor choice for videoing tandems.
