  1. Hey Cindy! I've been great. how you been? i think i moved right before you got there. i'll be back there in a few weeks t jump. i just started back ths weekend. it's been 17 weeks. u going to spaceland this weekend? i was thinking about letting scotty give me my scr. i have been avoiding it forever. and everbody just assumes that i already did it. but between next mon. and tues. i have 3 test and a eng. paper due, so i'm not sure if i'll be there or not. :0( if not i'll cya in dallas in a few weeks.
  2. how do you know? did yall make all yalls jumps together? do yall jump at the same place? I know for a fact that for the last 6 months he's been jumping a spaceland and you haven't made one jump there. the only "....wrong answer" seems to be the one's coming out of your mouth. regarding a dz bashing thread, if you do not know what you are talking about don't post to it. u know i never ask anybody this because i don't care, but in your case i am curious. how many jumps do you have and more importantly, how long have you been in this sport?
  3. no but you implied it. which is basically a cowards way of blaming someone. remember "See a Pattern Yet??" or "Was he put in a position that he should not have been?" or how about no pilot's license or no camera license. what's your real motivation here? getting at steve for nothing he did to you or kissing derrick's ass? just curious
  4. I'm wasn't aware that there was a licensing system for camera flyers. what does anything on this thread have to do with camera flying? this jumper had a mishap under canopy. his accident has nothing to do with cameras. nothing. what do you mean by "was he put in a position he should not have been to begin with??"? are you implying that the DZO put a gun to his head and made him jump with cameras? or, since this is canopy accident are you implying that the DZO made him do a hook turn? also what do you know about their pilots? and what are you trying to imply by "See A Pattern Here Yet?"? well i just checked and it's been over six months since you've been to spaceland. now my question is, if you haven't been there then how can you possibly know what the hell you are talking about? now derrick may or may not have a legitimate rant. but he has room to rant because he knows steve and he worked there almost since day 1. you on the other hand are going on here say and trying to discredit a credible dz for your own personal reasons. or in other words dz bashing. which is especially uncool to do on a public forum when you have nothing more than here say to back your story.
  5. hey ramon, i started back this past weekend. well i made one about 3 weeks ago cuz i couldn't take it any longer. i did a belly jump with jesse and his girlfriend. forgot her name. it was fun. we did like 6 or 7 points. it's been 17 weeks since i jumped (headdown) and 2 yrs since i did a belly dive. i think i was more rusty on my head. but all that rust is brushed off so hurry get back. and if you can bring me a turben (arab hat) for a souvenier. i'll pay ya back for it..
  6. during the freefly festival at spaceland last year they had the lee mcmillan tracking contest. at least that's what i think it wa called. anyway i entered it. thing was i could only track good on my back. so fo 30min before the contest i went in the proshop and watched cloud's edge. they have alot of tracking dives. after studying the video i went out and did 79mph. trey went just a far and did 77mph. derek (hooknswoop) tracked clear across hwy288. oh ya we started out a 1/2 mile on the other side of the hanger. or supposedly a 1/2 mile. it was fun.
  7. i still haven't even broken 200. my best is only 195mph in jeans and t-shirt, feet together and hands on my sides.
  8. it was the only pro-track on the jump and i'm not sure if it was on the inside of the hemet or the outside. my comfort zone while headdown is 145-160mph. i feel like the pro-track was probably pretty close. i even floated for just a sec. i agree thay they are not totally realiable or accurate, but right now that is all that is available. or at least that i know of.
  9. Joe Nichols layed a 160mph base for us on a small hybrid dive saturday at spaceland. no weights and pro-track verified.

    Helmet Choice?

hey dave, here's my.02 cents based on my time spent working in the proshop at spaceland. there is no all around fits all helmet. everybody's head is different. every manufacturers line of helmets fits different. i recommend you go to the proshop at spaceland. last i checked steve had more than a showcase full of helmets.some of the brands he stocks include bonehead, hawkeye, sky systems, parasport italia, and protec. and in the case that, like most people, you are going to get one without trying any on, i recommend getting a bonehead.
  11. [The sturdiest suits I've seen out there are FireFly suits. They are the bomb.] diddo on that. shelly and sherry are the best. they are all about customer service and having the best product. they build customer suits like they are making them for themselves. definetly the sturdiest on the market. i bet my suit will outlast a canopy. and they will build whatever you could imagine. just draw it and send it to them. for those that want a basic suit, firefly's come in 3 colors. and as far as performance goes, they have definetly got their suits dialed in. [I own a pair of freedommeanschoice pants myself. The custom work Karen did for me was great and the pants look ultra-cool. But, the first pair did not fit me and I had to pay extra to have them remade to fit :( It was a bummer to have to pay extra.] if you order a suit from firefly and by some chance (maybe bad measurements) it does not fit send it back. they adjust it for free and if they recieve it early in the week they'll have it back to you by the weekend. shipping on them. the firefly girls are setting the industry standard that the rest of the jumpsuit manufacturers should follow.
  12. [Convince your group that you want to be base for the dive too. It'll make them speed up - they'll appreciate it in the end!] not when they're 5'8" and 130lbs. slower is better. you should get a baggier suit.
  13. [(please note, I'm 6'2" and 250lbs out the door )] for headdown practice i recommend a feet attached drogue equipped with 3 ring cutaway system. ;0)
  14. [(Oh, btw, I was clocked at 218mph today in a sit...)] my fastest pro-tracked clocked speed was 195mph headdown, ankles together and hands on my sides. most of my dives are in the range of a 140- 160mph.
  15. [Another question, for a head down, what's the difference in having the feet in the same plane and having one infront of the other? Is that a different position with a different name, or just nothing?] having one foot in front and one in back is called the daffy position. the advantage is more stability by grabbing air on 4 points. the disadvantage is decreased manueverability as opposed to having legs spread side to side.
  16. i love my power racer. most comfortable rig on the market. racers rule!!! levin

[FYI the way to do the quotes is to put whatever you're quoting between [ quote ]Quoted Text Here.[ /quote ] tags. Just remove the spaces inside the brackets and it will work.] thanks ted
