just to let everybody know, the second vSCR was completed at spaceland on saturdays sunset load. we thought it was the first but after we got it we found out that another group accomplished it somewhere else the previous weekend. our vSCR was a nine way with 4 belly flyers, 2 hangers and 3 stingers. the participants were 1.greg bowles (belly) 2.cindy ? (belly) 3.larissa ? (belly) 4.rob ? (belly - 80 jumps. first bigway) 5.jesse hale (hanger - organizer) 6.katrina (hanger) 7.stevie boyd (headdown stinger) 8.trent alkeck (sitfly stinger) 9.levin (headdown stinger) thanks to everybody that went on the dive even if you didn't get in. it kicked ass. thanks to jesse for organizing it. thanks to matt for the outside video. now we are just waiting on our numbers which should be in the teens. in the chance that the previous group that got the first vSCR last week only had 8, then i wonder who on our's will get that last remaining single digit number. have to wait and see. for those that didn't make it in or didn't go maybe we can do it again this weekend so that everybody else can get a number while they are still low. i gave ann the videos from the dive. when she starts feeling better she's gonna put them on the net. also the comp videos from san marcos. get well soon ann! levin grat#40 vSCR#pending

there's that one we did for the dz.com attempt. 2 sitflyers and two headdowners. sit flyers facing each other. headdowners on the sitflyers sides facing each other. headdowners have grips on sitflyers hip rings. usually a very stable formation. levin grat#40

i'll be your partner...that is if trent says it's okay
-
hey trent...i was planning on just helping yall out with the videos, but in case i decide i want to play i have a question about one of the manuevers. i'm pretty sure i can pull the cartwheel out of my ass but since i can't sit and stand i can't do the totem. would a handstand on someone's shoulders be okay? levin grat#40

from a safety standpoint i do not think my statement was too harsh. a vertical freefall collision will kill you just as quick as a bad hook turn. it doesn't matter if she has 10,000 belly jumps. the fact is she corked and caused a collision. it's a mental reflex out of a habit of belly flying. until she overcomes it she is dangerous on anything bigger than a two way. if she is such a competent skydiver then due to this experience she should be able to overcome it by her next jump. and as to the bare bones nature of your post, i should have replied to hookit's instead. he implied fault and i have a slightly varied opinion on that so my reply went off of what he said. sorry if i almost started a flame war. levin grat#40

i didn't see this the first time i read it. i read it but it didn't click for me that she went to her belly. that's totally her fault and yall's fault for putting yourselves in that position in the first place. if she doesn't have enough experience to know not to go to belly under someone then she shouldn't be on anything bigger than a two way.
-
from what you have wrote it was the low girl's fault. however a small amount of fault can be placed on the other jumpers if she was the designated base or if there was no designated base. levin grat#40

everybody should get a firefly freefly suit and if you are unsure about how much drag or what cut you need, then you can feel confident in sherry's advice. she knows what shes doing.

when i first started i thought i was never going to be able to speed up

from what it says it would seem that if you could get inside you might not have any trouble getting to roof. you got a point about the 5 mile sound wave repulsators. i guess sometimes you must make sacrafices for the benefits of new technologies. i wonder if sound wave repulastor tunnels are going to be cheaper than the wind tunnels they will replace.

i just reallized that the tube tops are only 1237.5 feet and it's the pyramid top that is 1449'. now i vote hell no
-
i am concerned with how far the upper wrap around thing extends from the building. if the tubes are 1449 feet, then i would guess that the distance between the top of the tube and the upper horizontal wrap thing would be about 300 feet. it's hard to tell how far the wrap around sticks out. my concern is if that is enough time to clear it. if not then that makes max altitude about 1100 feet. so from the old design to this design we would probably be coming down a bit. i would have to vote no on this one.

hey ann!!!, where are they at? levin grat#40

anybody know what the actually agenda is for the "Spaclenad thing" this weekend? think there will be time to work in a dz.com record and another vscr attempt (maybe somewhere a little less humid and with better visibility) this saturday?

i think you two should go out, face off and just fly your columns in front of each other. if 10 - 15 feet is the distance yall are having trouble closing then face off at that distance and fly your slots all the way down. forget about docking. if you can succesfully do that then do it again from say 8 to 10 feet. then maybe 6 - 8 feet. keep doing it until yall can fly your slots literally in each others face. then the dock will just happen. don't get in a hurry. concentrate on proximity (a pre-determined distance) and fallrate. in case you are accidentally carving or orbiting the person you are wanting to dock (very common) then try doing it on purpose with control. you will likely find this very difficult. and you may also find that by attempting to master something you are doing on accident, may be a quick fix for doing something you are doing unintentionally. i probably didn't word that very weel, but you get the idea. levin grat # 40 rf # (1) forthcoming

clay is correct. only i would change both to #1 since they are of equal importance. i see many people with stability problems that have their elbows to far out. usually even with their sternum or just below their arm pits. typically their wrist are about shoulder level. looks kinda like a waiter carrying two large pizzas. with the arms in that position air spills down the upper and lower arms onto the elbows. people doing this try to fight the instability by blancing with their hands making the problem a little worse. elbows should be even with your lower ribs. wrist should be slightly lower than your elbows. hands slightly in front of you so that you can see them in your peripheal vision. a line drawn from one wrist to the other should go across the front of your stomach. roll your shoulders forward slightly. just enought to straighten your back too much will give you a hump back. likewise tuck your butt in. fly your legs. relax and subconsciously try to think about breathing. take it slow and one thing at a time. good luck. levin grat # 40 rf # (1)forthcoming
