  2. so any takers on the bigway tube dive? freefly tube that is:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  3. Cant wait for "THE" boogie. gonna have some great ait power there this year. I have heard that a bi plane, heli, c-130, mike mullins king air, super otters, caravans, and skyvan will all be there for our fun and enjoyment. I am looking to also organize a bige way tube jump with as many freefly tubes as possible, so whoever has a freefly tube and will be there please send me a little message and look me up on sat of the boogie (you can page me from the manifest tent and yes I do go by YOSHI) cant wait to meet new peeps and get some funky freefly dives in! see you there???? -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  4. I wouldnt say that is unreasonable. hell if they are planning to jump why not pay a deposit to ensure that you will get a slot on what could potentially be a very busy day.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  5. *** Why doesn't the device fire everytime a person comes down without a main chute open? *** To my understanding there have been a few cases where the person may have had a prtial canopy out (which could have slowed the person to the point where the cypress would not fire) but was still fast enough to cause fatal damage. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  6. thanks for the advice. I think trying to get the leg locks while in a side by side was making it more difficult because of the pressure that was already there when we were going for it. Ill have to try that way this weekend... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  7. cool Ill have to try that way. I also heard that initiating a side by side first then kicking your feet backwards in between eachothers legs works well too... Ill jsut have to go up and try it all a few times. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  8. I did some crew this weekend with a borrowed rig taht had a left hand deploy. was really odd even on a hop and pop to pull from that side. didnt really make a difference, but jsut felt odd. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  9. well this past weekend got a 2 stach a side by side and a down plane (for a second before the pressure pulled us apart). any good tips on how to hold a down plane solid? we tried facing eachother once in a side by side and wrapping our legs around eachothers bodies and as we pulled those toggles to force the downplane we got pulled apart. had a blast and I can wait to have a crew rig for those pretty puffy cloud days:):) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  10. way cool. that would be so fun to watch. so how would a birdman suit compare to one of these rigid wings? -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  11. heres a question though... if someone has a car and is tresspassing wont they inpound it? a motorcycle? a scooter? lets say someone has a snowboard and gets caught doing some tresspassing wont they confinscate the snowboard?? I wouldnt relate a base rig to the clothes on someones back or thier shoes.... it is another object completely that has no "normal" function in everyday practices (to most) dont get me wrong I think its a crock of shit for them to take anyones gear, but I do think it is completely different from the examples given thus far to comare it to. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  12. 2 more minutes and I am out! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  13. glad to see your back... how was the 9x9 cell???? nice pix by the way...kelly told me you did really well.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  14. I have swooped a fury 220 about 30 feet or so. I had low jump numbers at the time and it was a really really really stupid move, thank god something was on my shoulders that day looking over me and I pulled it off fairly well... it can be done with and ram air canopy in my opinion, maybe not 300 feet, but you can definately build speed and swoop it.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  15. with my canopy I dont use and rsl anyways. we did have them disconnected as well as both carrying hook knives. the drag plane looked pretty sweet. I dont think at this time I would attempt anything like that.. I stick to kicking pilot chutes, 2 stacks, and walking on eachothers canopies ***SQUISHHHHHHHY*** -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  16. That is exactly why I usually dont dock. I always jump barefoot or with tevas also so I jsut like to fly in formation and bump eachother... we didnt really plan to dock, but for me to fly in formation with him to look like we had the 2 stack. when I stayed there for a good 10 sec without sliding around he thought it would be nice to take the dock and well fortunately this time it worked out perfect. I like the idea of crew, but I like the idea of high performance crew better... I think it would be fun to get a bunch of canopies similar to mine with dacron lines and build something... as for now though Ill jsut stick to playing with only one other person under canopy. I mostly like to do it to see what kind of range i can get with my canopy. it proved to be fairly difficult when I was creeping up on him from behind in full brakes to stay up with him and flying mostly with harness input. as for me...you prob wont see me with my legs wraped in micro lines... I bet the offsets are even more difficlut... I tried after we had the 2 stack to fly with just my left foot standing on his right end cell and that was hard as hell.... but it was pretty fun walking back and forth on the topskin of his saphire:):):) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  17. so I buitle my first 2 stack this weekend. on a crosscountry dive my buddy flying a saphire 169 loaded at about 1.1 or 1.2 and me undr my crossfire 2 111 loades at 1.85 I managed to fly right up under him and jsut very softly lay my canopy against the back of his legs.... after sitting there for about 10 seconds without sliding around or anyting he looked down and very easily slid his sneakers into my lines.... I was very suprized about the range I was able to acheive with my crossfire... I stayed up with him and didnt have too much of a problem poping up with a combination of front, rear risers and toggles. once docked I let up on my toggles and sped us up quite a bit... we held it for a total of about 1.5 minutes and when he released I backed away as smooth as when I approached him to dock in the first place. was a grand old time... cant wait for more high performance crew:):):) (yes we did have some basic canopy relative work training from a couple crew dogs at our dz prior to attempting anything as well as working with eachother under canopy without docking in the past. fell free to flame, but this was done safely given the circumstances) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  18. I dont always carry my hook knife... I would if it were part of my contaciner, but I jsut strap in on to the chest strap when I am doing crosscountry dives and things with other people close to me under canopy. It wouldnt hurt anything to have it attached and I think I am going to get it sewn into the leg strap soon... ya never know when ya might need it.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  19. I usually take baout 5 min to psyco pack mine. I have done it in 4.5 min very sloppy, but dont all that often... especially with a psycho pack the lines can burn the fabric easily if you dont mind it (speaking from experience on my last canopy) if I packed in less than 3 min I prob wouldnt jump it, but who knows...I guess it depends on what kind of mood I am in... I sure as hell wouldnt pull low though:) -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
  20. whew! I am glad we cleared that one up... and I thought it was my first time jumper static line student 2 weeks ago!!! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
