To my understanding that is why it is called: Richmond "THE" Boogie. and also why richmond aka Skydive Wayne County is now the coolest DZ around. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

funny how lots of wuffos dont realize there is a reserve chute. and cant believe we can steer parachutes. or move around in freefall. and they all think they whole way down you get the same feeling you get from a rollercoaster. or when you say "chop" they think you have an axe or pair of scissors up there and actually "cut" it away. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

New Skydiver's Question...About Reserve Chute
Yoshi replied to Kramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
cant remeber if I did this already 483:1 side step through... prob could have landed it, but didnt want to. jump # 69...I packed it *opps* -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent. -
I have an oddessey and the only way I pack it is gromet up. I have had no issues with it and when its packed it still looks good (pending you like my choice of patterns and colors) Im with skygod on this one... I think it is more logical (especially if you stow your lines correctly) to pack it with the line stows facing the back pad/ grommet on pilot chute facing the pin... -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I load mine at 1.417. I would prob be hurt if I was unconsious...but then again if I was unconsioud I would prob already be hurt... I could land it in a tight spot...as long as I could find a tight one to get to I would... Knock on wood...3 taps... but hopefully Ill never have to use it.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

I hear you there... My friend Jonny back home does 90-270 snaps like a bat out of hell... that is a really good way to scare spectators.. and when he did a 1080 (yes that is 3 full revolutions) he scared the crap out of the skydivers... it was sure fun to watch though...even better from his perspective on video.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

yup... I am now at spaceland, and nothing against spaceland at all its a great place, but no DZ will ever live up to richmond. the people there are like family the min you walk in the door, and well it does have a reputation for the sex...and sex...and well of course all the sex that happens there. not to mention (which is probably why there is so much sex) the parties are damn amazing... cant wait to come home and visit ya SWC! -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

the carves I definately get further swoops.. I snap from time to time jsut for the rush... my carves are fairly steep though.. I fly a crossfire 2 loaded at 1.85 and I start in double fronts then let up on my right riser to get my heading and then go back into double fronts for altitude before slowly releasing and going into rears.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

ok thought I would chime in... I personally like 180's.. then again I dont have an exuberant amount of experience compared to some. earlier it was stated that on a 270 there are more outs... the only reason for that is because you are going a further distance around. I feel with a controlled 180 I can get out at any time, just as I do when doing a 270. just because I do 180s doesnt mean I have to snap turn them or dive at the gound like a snap turn or hook.. I can take my 180 just as slow and controlled as a 270...it just doesnt last as long, and possibly costs me a little speed in the end, but I am working on accuracy right now with my 180s and the slow controlled approach is just as easy-in my opinion- to ditch out of as a 270 carver. once my accuracy is down, then Ill play more with the 270s to try to get more accurate with those... dont get me wrong, though, I do snap hook from time to time and I feel that a slow carving turn (weather it be a 180, 270, 90, 720) is safer than the snap. just thought I would throw that in... please offer any comments on anything I may be incorrect in saying.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.

What's the farthest you know you have swooped?
Yoshi replied to Spizzzarko's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I beleive ya:) hell I swooped a s88 manta at .6 wing load about 20 feet... and on my crossfire...well I dont know exactly...maybe somewhere around 200...maybe further, but I havent swooped too many courses, so I dont really have anything other than sight to judge it off of.. -yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent. -
I took the s/l progression and did 6 s/l before doing my "clear and pull" which was about a 15-20 second delay (from 5500 feet). I did my first jump s/l and took a year off to travel europe, then when I came back I started the s/l program which included 5 s/l...the first 2 were "normal" and the next 3 were drcp's (dummy ripcord pulls) or sometimes call prcp's (practice ripcord pulls). yoshi _________________________________________ this space for rent.
