It is my understanding that either card is acceptable. Both cards are still available on the USPA website. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Have you ever had a true out of body experience?
jlmiracle replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
I sure hope not because I have the most bizarre dreams. I don't want to deal with godzilla in my next life. and no I don't believe I have had an OBE. Muenkel - get better soon. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. -
but does it count if its the same person to repost? Too many safety meetings for skydivemonkey maybe. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

You use the word skydiver like its a title that goes along with CEO, CFO, President, etc. I don't like titles. I see too many people obsessed about titles and go through life very very unhappy searching for the perfect title. As far as DZ.com. I look at talk back because I can always find something to make me laugh. I look at the incidents to make sure I don't miss sending someone I know flowers, or learn from someone else's misfortune. I look at General Skydiving because some people ask questions and sometimes I have an opinion to share, same with Safety and Training. People that don't have considerable experience skydiving really shouldn't be giving advice on skydiving unless it is a first hand experience someone else can learn from but I see no reason for 1 jump skydivers and students and wannabe's not to join us in talk back and lurk the other forums. I think economics is a big reason most people that want to continue skydiving don't. Maybe some day they will be able to continue so I have no intention of snubbing them now. "If its been said once...." or "Ivan the Terrible"
jlmiracle replied to RippedCord's topic in The Bonfire
I think he usually gets off in his bedroom, or maybe the bathroom, or was it the kitchen table... Ivan, where do you get off? Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. -
I used to weld. I made the racks for for the back of 3-wheelers and trailer hitch thing for snowmobiles, have not do it in about 17 years. I can't read a blue print to save my life but I can weld. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

What did you expect, they are the French. I wonder if they can still play dodge ball though.... Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

That is really sad. We didn't call it dodge ball when we played as children, we (including the teachers) referred to it as killer ball. Have you ever been hit in the face with a rubber ball when its 0 degrees outside? I miss killer ball. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

I've been watching the post and well this is what I have to say about it. First off, why don't you have a D license if you have 250ish jumps and your motorcycle accident was July? You have time to get that in before the deadline. Where is your 170 Sabre? Do you have your own gear? Did you honestly think you can show up at any dropzone with no logbook, no nothing, and just expect them to bow down to your demands? Had you showed up at our dz with NO logbook, nothing, you would have been put through a refresher course to make sure you really know what you are doing and you would be on student gear. Had you given us grief about being put in the harness or a refresher, you would not have jumped. Why didn't you spiral down? I know it was asked several times, but I didn't see a response from you as to why. Like so many others said, what are they suppose to do shut the dz down and have EVERYONE go look for you. I hope you can change your attitude about RECURRENCY and what is expected of EVERY dropzone when it comes to situations like yours. Excuses excuses... and I was just telling them where to go check the story. I had no intention of making a clicky cause it takes me forever to look it up on how to do it and finally do it correctly. But a greenie not making a clicky is well, inexcusable, don't ya think. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Snopes has the story and its not really true. Its more a misunderstanding than anything. Target is my most favorite non-skydiving store. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Tennesse Skydiving Center -- Aircraft
jlmiracle replied to quade's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Both Adventure Sky Diving and Adventure Skydiving Center are listed as a Ceramic & Equipment. Both have had complaints but appear to be resolved. I wonder why they would resolve those complaints but not all the ones listed under Atlanta Skydiving Center. Now, Alabama Skydiving is listed an actual parachuting center. I suggested to the GM committee that if a dz has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB they should be either dropped as a GM dz or penalized in some way (membership suspended) and was told it would take to long. I went through every state and just typed in skydive, skydiving, and parachute and went through every dz listed on bbb in about 1 hour. Things that make you go hummmmm... Don't you want to ask who held a gun to their heads and poured the alcohol down their throats. This post, as I understood it, is about being responsible for your own actions, to drink responsibily and to NOT DRINK AND DRIVE. Unfortunately it takes horrible incidents such as this to make people see the light, not look to blame someone else. Vibes to you Daisy. The Better Business Bureau has an unsatisfactory rating on ASC, or at least last time I checked. The BBB is not a regulatory agency. All the BBB will do is keep their rating unsatisfactory until the complaints are satisfied. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. -

I thought we were all cool just because we skydive. I've asked wuffo's what they thought of the dz and the people after they visit and most of what I get is, why do they wear that wierd clothes. Never ever let your impression of "cool" compromise your safety. You will definately not be cool on crouches, in a wheel chair, or laid up in bed, or worse dead. Blues skies and soft landings. Maybe they figured if it never came back, that was just as well because they could never get any luck with the closing loop and pin. ROFLA. I guess it isn't that odd, I landed out on my first solo (under a manta) I pulled around 6000 feet because I got serious ground rush and didnt' trust my altimeter. Anyway, it took me 2 hours to walk back - because I couldn't find a place to get over the barbwire fence that would have taken me back to the dz quicker and no one saw me land off or knew I was missing. The person working manifest apologized over and over for not watching, but it all worked out fine. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
