I would like to see the swoop contest and other "speciality landings" (Lugi's) organized better and take place when they say they are going to. I sat around waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting to watch when I could have still been jumping. I had a great time but I stayed in a hotel so I didn't have a problem when things got too loud - I just left. I liked the band they had on the last Saturday and thought they played some great music. Portapoties - I've been to dz's with much much worse so no complaints there. I wasn't expecting the Ritz. The weather could have been a little warmer and less cloudy. I would have liked to see more vendors there. I would guess alot didn't come because they would get a week behind then have to deal with another bunch of whiney skydivers. It wasn't necessarily a stunt but I saw a few people driving themselves around in the golf carts running over their own canopy. When we tried to tell one guy he just shrugged his shoulders. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Well, it appeared you asked about the history - you did not clarify history on what. The "rumors" have been around for years and Roger did do time, along with many others in our sport, not necessarily related to Roger's incident. Now whether or not SDC was funded by said drug money will probably never be proven, but its a good story. It really sucks for Missy and Rook to have to deal with these really stupid people and we all know the media doesn't get much right nowadays. Paul gave us the bad news at the WFFC. He was in pretty good spirits for amount of destruction said now they can build it they way they want it. I have not had the pleasure of jumping there YET, but we are planning a trip down in the winter - building or no building. So...he gets screwed and doesn't get organized jumps or other freefliers get screwed and don't get organized jumps. Someone was going to get screwed either way. You listed 3 freefly organizers and only 1 RW organizer has been listed in this thread. I think 1 organized jump with the guy wouldn't have hurt ALL the freefly jumps you got to make with Rook, Missy, and Amy. It should have been handled differently. Our guys get tipped once in a while, but this one TM and Video guy got the mother (mama) load. The lady comes out with her 2 sons that are doing a tandem (she was about 60). When I went in the room after they watched the video the boys said "Mama wants to jump too". I said "no problem." Well, mama had a nice beehive hairdo. She does her tandem, loves her video and sends the video guy an antique watch with appraisal papers and the TM a gold nugget bracelet with appraisal papers. Why? We have, when needed, pulled a freeflyer (and I'm not taking joe shmo freeflyer) to "organize" a RW load or just make and RW coaching jump. We do what we have to do to make things happen. I recently drove 7 hours to a boogie and guess what, the organizer that was scheduled to be there couldn't make it. Luckily there was no registration fee and we were warned prior to going that it is basically a "team" dz, so bring your own group to jump with. I think we can all learn from experiences like this, those who organize boogies and those that attend. It is important to know what the customers wants, and to be upfront with them on the front end and have a back up plan if people (organizers) cancel. and as far as him not wanting to freefly - not everyone wants to, Some people don't have gear that is freefly friendly, or just doesn't care much for that discipline. How many of these "hillbilly" dz's have you been to RR? Do you have any experience at these so called "hillbilly" dz's? Some people believe in giving back to the sport what was given to them (free coaching), some dont. Chutem - Eloy is a fine place to learn to skydive. I have to agree with you Breezejunky. I don't blame him from being upset. He probably could have stayed has his home DZ and done the same jumps without all the costs of boogie registration and travel. If they advertise organizing at all levels, they should have found the organizers for all levels. I'm sure some of those freeflyers still remember how to fly on their belly well enough to organizes a low to mid-skill load. on a side note, I do expect to find the pop (soda, whatever) that is suppose to be included at the WFFC. I have never ever found it - at any boogie except the ones I help organize. I will bug every person I can find that has ANYTHING to do with convention until I do.
