I can't vote in your poll you did not list all the candidates. Do you work for CNN? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

I'm glad you had a good time! I don't think you ate your share of jell-o though. Maybe next year we can replace all the beer with Red Bull instead? Thanks for coming! Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

I did because I could get a picture of me downloaded at the right size so I went with the Pink Christina Aguelara monster. It seemed like the next best choice. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

That sound great. I don't know when or where this lock on this came about. It showed up at our dz a year or so ago and from what I have seen has cause a more problems than it has helped. I basically tell my students the same as you do with deep breath, wave off and pull. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
-
How many of you teach your students to "lock on" at 6000 ft? I personally have seen a HUGE problem with this. I have been a skydive (I do not teach lock on) and the skydive went perfect til 6000 feet and they "locked on" and stayed "locked on" and missed the wave off, missed the pull signal, and ended up failing for not pulling because they became fixated on their altimeter. Just looking for feed back postive and negative. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

What can we do about Skyride?

*** Was it a small DZ or some place like Eloy or Perris Valley? Big DZ - YES. I know someone that regularly jumps at one of those big dz's that hasn't renewed in a quite a while. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. -

Ron, you know I would love to see the GM program go away, but it's a ways off if that ever happens. What do you think about an ethics code for individual members? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. -

The DZO's on the USPA BOD shot down the ethics code that was introduced. They don't want to have to have standards either. I completely agree that some type of ethics codes needs to be in place. Also, the USPA, could find many reasons to revoke their individual memberships as well if the BOD would vote FOR an ethics code for GM's. I believe part of the "punishment" could be to revoke the individual memberships of the DZO's. Many times they state they are USPA CERTIFIED. We all know the USPA does not Certify dropzones. Billy it would be great to see you and jump with you again. My frig is now FULL of jell-o shots. I believe 800 in all. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. -
Latex liners have made a world of difference on many jumps, before I had what I consider good stuff, plus constantly busted through them, but they work well in a pinch. Many jumper I know use latex gloves under gloves because they completely block the wind. If you are using latex gloves to keep warm, I don't think moisture isn't a problem because they are not on that long and its cold outside and it your hands are getting sweaty then you probably don't need them. I currently use neuman gloves with silk glove liners (for winter). I am going to look at the UnderArmor Cold weather Receiver gloves. I saw them on their website and am probably going to have to pay $45, but I will pay to be comfortable. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

The Boogie/Party is less than 2 weeks away, my frig is starting to fill up with Jell-o Shots, the raffle prizes are rolling in. Its going to be a great boogie this year. Hope everyone can make it! -
After you clean up a body or 2 - it doesn't seem that harsh, in fact, I don't think its harsh enough. There is NO EXCUSE. If you are an AFF student and lose altitude awareness - YOU FAIL. If you do it as a fun jumper and don't have an AAD - YOU DIE. I know of several DZ's that don't allow hook turns and will ground you or pull your silver handle, when you break the rules. Usually those jumpers just go somewhere else to try to kill themselves. Good for Perris for doing this! I hope more DZ's follow suit. Maybe I am wrong but why would you even want to give the legs out signal if the legs are so far out that you are having to chase the student from behind because they are in a track! Try legs in or legs up you should get a better response. The only time you give legs out is in a back slide position if this is the case you are chasing them down face to face! In your first reply it appeared you stated you were chasing the student down which I assumed you were behind them giving them sticking your tongue out, which wouldn't fix the problem even if they could see you. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
-
If you are behind them (tracking after them), sticking your tongue out isn't going to help either, you will have to catch them, redock and give a hand signal. I wear a full face helmet on AFF and always will. It was a "HOT TIP" by my course director. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Well.. there are different kind of bumps. There are speed bumps, which are bad on runways. You can bump your booty on a butt landing.. there are bumpy brothers.. such as me, mouth, mariposa, chiquita, and many others.. theres that dance from the 50's called The Bump.. And then theres the bump to tell people to get their bumpy booties out to Tullahoma this weekend and jump! I have also heard of a bump being a drink or beer. example: Do you wanna go out for a few bumps? Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. -
Sponsorship And What I Want To Do
jlmiracle replied to Jumpmunki's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Most teams are going to jump a rig that they get the best deal on. Airspeed could jump wonderhogs and still win. What I have experienced with these sponsored teams, is they are pretty unapproachable. In the past I've tried talking to some of these sponosored people but they are doing "team stuff today" maybe tomorrow, but if they aren't training they aren't showing up tomorrow. Good luck. Objectives: To determine whether parachutes are effective in preventing major trauma related to gravitational challenge. I would have to say YES, they are effective. I thought people that were gravitationally challenged were what we refer to as FAB's. This is bizarre. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
