    Thanks for all the hugs and well wishes. I leave in the morning for North Carolina to attend to the funeral and executrix duties. Some things in life just suck. A coworker this week said, "Welcome to the club that everyone eventually joins and no one wants to." Ain't that the truth! But to put a bright spin on the situation, it's amazing at the kindness of people. Everyone, without exception, has asked how they could help. My lawn care provider even mowed my grass for free.     It's a great maneuver and I do them all the time--quite often at 400 ft. or lower, but many jumpers have never even seen that and think I'm nuts for stalling my canopy that low. I've done it as low as about 200 ft. It hasn't happened until you post a video on Skydivingmovies for us to see...     The attendance and skill level was up nearly 100% on last year. How many were there? It was an awesome experience for me. I went there with 16 solo Prodigy jumps and was allowed to get out last from the airplane and chase the formations. I even caught up to a 20-way once. I might have even made it into a picture or two.

Last week the SEC came to our office for a surprise audit. They had me performing like a trained seal in their quest for records, but I was thrown fish and applause in return.     ***If you used shortening and flour to prepare the pan, don't wait until the cake cools to take it out of the pan. The shortening will solidify again and make the cake stick In the future, if you let the cakes cool in the pan, and they are stuck to the solidified shortening, there is a cure... Just put the cake pan back into the oven for about a minute. The heat will melt the shortening again allowing the cake to slide out easily.     Another way to tell if the cake is done is to look at the sides. When the sides pull away from the pan, it's done. You can pull out the oven rack, cover it with a clean dish towel and place the cake on it.
