One day God was looking down at Earth and saw all of the rascally behavior that was going on. So he called one of His angels and sent the angel to Earth for a time. When he returned, he told God, "Yes, it is bad on Earth, 95 percent are misbehaving and only 5 percent are not." God thought for a moment and said, "Maybe I had better send down a second angel to get another opinion." So God called another angel and sent him to Earth for a time too. When the angel returned he went to God and said, "Yes, it's true. The Earth is in decline: 95 percent are misbehaving, but 5 percent are being good." God was not pleased. So He decided to e-mail the 5 percent that were good, because he wanted to encourage them, to give them a little something to help them keep going. Do you know what the e-mail said? No? I did my first tandem on my 52nd birthday. My kids were grown and gone by then. I have friends who took up the sport when they had families and their time at the DZ is limited because of it. I have the freedom to travel to far away DZs and to go jumping any time I'm not working, which is what my life has become. I think I'd be miserable having to limit my time at the DZ because of family obligations. I resented having to go to my son's wedding a few weeks ago on a Saturday. I'm glad that I didn't take it up until after I had an empty nest and could spend all of my money jumping out of perfectly good airplanes. I'm truly addicted. Yeah, those are some awesome shots. You certainly have honed your talent. It must feel great to know that you'll live forever through your artistry. I've got two Tony Hathaways framed on my walls at home. They are the only two skydiving pictures of me that I have bothered to frame. Although I've got a couple of Scary Perrys that are soon to join them.

Congratulations Kathleen! I'm very happy for you! And, I'm not at all jealous that I didn't get to jump this weekend. [cough, cough, looking around nervously for lightening to strike] The friendships we've made in this sport are truly God sent. Maybe we'll get to jump together this summer.
