I think he is talking figuratively. When he refers to veterans he means those who might have missing limbs, burns etc. That they have received while serving the interests of the country. So the opposite of a "beautiful, beautiful person". His wounds are those inflicted by Dems. and the corrupt courts. Much money has been spent prepping his base to accept felonies as badges of honor for republicans. Preparing his base to look at all the convictions of his followers as unjust. In 1984 a famous author coined the term "doublethink" also known as "groupthink". To explain the GOP base today.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers

The NYT has a good current polling standings article today. In the swing states it doesn't look good for Biden. Trump may make even more outrageous statements as the election comes closer. His several stalled legal matters make it very important for him to win. -

Sure he lost votes for this convictions. Just like he lost votes for "grabbing pussy", fraud, etc.. But there is enough undecided voters that get distracted, don't care, want low taxes, etc. -

Unfortunately there is nothing to change this because "but with this court there's no recourse." -
People here need to keep in mind that many, many similarly inclined Americans think the same way as Brent. Brent poorly chooses his arguments and seems to delight in debasing higher ideals. This is a good example. The expanding use of coal by poor countries arises out of necessity for cheap power. When better alternatives are not available. Only two countries are expanding coal use at scale, China and India. While 84 countries have pledged to phase it out entirely. Nuances like this are not discussed in conservative circles. The circles of thought which Brent likes to frequent.

The latest extension of this pork also had GOP support. They don't sell it as “saving the planet”.

The Trump co-conspirators who have been sentenced to jail with more to come. -
Many Trump followers and fanboys missed out on the opportunity to attend Trump-U. There are about 600,000 individual investors in DJT Media. Soon they will each receive a masters degree in investment diligence.

Correct. and also correct. The political leadership on the right isn't leading the agenda its following what the base wants. An aggregate wave of the "failure to respect christian values is responsible for everything wrong with America". Is the narrative that appeals.

Stop scratching your head because you'll be completely bald soon. A Rubik's cube is more logical than the gyrations necessary to follow the USSC gun rulings.
-
There are all kinds of analogies referenced here. None of which are relevant. For the USSC if you can pass the confirmation process be it bribes, gifts, conflicts of interests. You are your own demi-god. Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. recently stated at a SC "gala" that the US needs to return to a place of "godliness". He was " secretly recorded at an annual black-tie event for the Supreme Court Historical Society, a charity aimed at preserving the court’s history and educating the public about the role of the court ." He never mentioned how Clarence Thomas was living up to those ideals.

EV's / hybrids as a hedge against natual disasters

Don't be so harsh. He's half way to admitting he was wrong about something. -
EV's / hybrids as a hedge against natual disasters
Phil1111 replied to billvon's topic in Speakers Corner
Isn't the real hedge against disasters. Solar panels, storage and inverters? They can continue to run long past the empty gas stations become shooting galleries of survivalists looking for the last drop of fuel. -
IMO even the appearance of a conflict of interest is corrosive to the public trust.

All power corrupts, absolute power....

Although you're a pretty smart guy, its still funny.

The Menendez trial is continuing. Real sleaze so corruption is not limited to republicans.Just more proof that trump lies about a weaponized justice system. Just feeds the ignorant mind. -
Thats why we keep you around here. IMO what the Ukraine war has shown is what a paper tiger Russia is. Its laughable how poorly the S-400 and S-300 systems are. Useful for shooting down airliners at 38,000' but not much more. The overlooked conflict that altered the nature of war in the 21st century showed what was to come in modern wars and that was four years ago. Today a armed drone costs Ukraine an average of $500.

The NYT has a article today about a St. Petersburg neighborhood that has experienced multiple floods. Some homeowners are stuck because they can't afford to elevate their homes. Most insurers have walked away. Global warming is an abstract idea until it isn't.

Thats the rub. Canada is ahead of America in immigration legislation. It signed a treaty with the US a couple years ago where immigrants can't enter from the US if they enter another "safe" country first, i.e. the US. Thanks America.
-
Biden is now ordering the US, Mexico border to be closed for immigration when it passes 2500 a day. With certain small exceptions for unaccompanied minors etc. I think its a good idea. But hiring more immigration judges, lawyers etc. Should be a part of it. i.e Speed up the entire immigration process and introduce better legislation. Isn't this hypocrisy given its part of the FOX, Trump, republican core values?

Well there is this relevant point: US produces more Oil than ANY country Ever! for your first comparason. For the last six years in a row it led the world. Oh well, It does have permitless open carry.

Keep in mind that Maternal Deaths per 100,000 live births will never be a topic on FOX news. Because FOX viewers will see it as some sort of sub rosa argument for universal health care. Nah, only Trump's lawyers and educated acolytes concealing truth or facts would know.

I just happened to pick Norway because it was the best example from the originating post. Now I know Norway is a soft point for conservatives. I.E. trump, immigrants from "shithole countries" v Norwegian immigrants....
