  1. Clicky Not bad.... I like that... Baseball! F*ck Yeah! NFL! F*ck Yeah! Slavery! F*ck Yeah! (Huh???????) Starbucks! F*ck Yeah! Books! F*ck Yeah! (
  2. Step one insert letter. step2 put a stamp on it. step 3 at a minimum write the persons address in the middle of the envelope. if you have enough time put YOUR addy on the top left corner. step 4 Find a mailbox (on of the blue R2D2 looking things) and feed it. Step 2 and 3 can be switched it you want to get crazy. With the warnings post offices show these days about "suspicous mail", I would suggest making YOUR address mandatory instead of optional.
  3. Yep, it's part of why just under a year later I was hanging off the strut of a 182 for the first time. I miss that some...I don't know of any 182's running regularly in NorCal anymore! I guess the closest would be to do a midweek jump in Davis.
  4. That was good...but I think I have better. A little german in it, but the signs in the first just say "vacation ticket" and "Airport". Hilarious Southpark-like animation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PHZGTrE5uw&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R28nObBhlu8&feature=related
  5. Does anyone have experience filing for unemployment in California? Over the past several months I have lost my job twice! The first was back in August when the Mortgage company I worked for died. The second is recently, when this small renewable energy resources company I was working for realized they created a position before they had work for it. Anyways, here is a bit of trickiness to this regarding timelines. My last day on the job for the energy company was 1/3/08. I have a 2+ month contract setup to start on 1/28, but would like to collect for the time in between (I interviewed and got the contract last week). I got a bunch of paperwork from EDD with an "interview" date of 1/22. So, this seems a little awkward in that I have a "temporary" job starting less than a week after the interview. I'm curious as to what I do. My guess is: 1) register at Caljobs 2) fill out first weekly claim form 3) answer the EDD interviewer's questions when (s)he calls on 1/22. Does this sound like it? I guess I would only be collecting for three weeks at the most.
  6. Yup, I know their in Rolla (wherever the heck that is - I think I saw it on a map). No, they seem to have their friends and are not good about calling people unless immediate family or for business....or at least that is what I can figure out.
  7. I usually use my parent's house key.
  8. I sold my 150 to a packer at the Cloverdale (Skydive SF) DZ for his backup. It is mfg 3/91 with probably a little over 1000 jumps - can't get much old of a Sabre. My current main is a Sabre-120...7/95 mfg date, so much newer . I bought it from funjumper101 for $250 (who was selling it on behalf of some rigger who moved out east). It had about 500 jumps on it and is in great condition. I put a new lineset on it around 100 jumps ago (load it @1.3 and have about 140 total now). I watched Timmay (hookit) swoop it nice back in November. I think I'll keep it as a backup after I get something else hopefully early summer. To the Original Poster: Ask your local rigger to sew a pocket on the slider. That should give you some reassurance that you'll have nice snively openings.
  9. Well, If you see Doug/Colin/Jackie/Connie, then tell them Ole says hi! Doug and Mike Souza did my AFF in Santa Rosa. When they moved, I found Byron and love it.
  10. Flaring is important. It can help you not-die or not get injured. Please do it on every jump and at the appropriate moment. Thank you.
  11. Happy B-day! Btw, I was at Byron today and Debs filled me in on the last minute pizza decision.

    Stress.

I've lost that in less time...and gained twice that in about 48 hours....but that was senior in high school while in wrestling. Losing weight sucks and eating is fun.
  13. To a large degree, what's good for the operator is good for the jumper. 5 skydivers with an Otter are very unhappy. but those 5 skydivers with a Pac are having a whole lot of fun. Economics affect us all. _Am I was in an Otter with only 5 people....but it was a hop n' pop and some Russian dude paid for the other slots. Didn't bother me though.
  14. Sabre-120, loaded at 1.3, picked it up for $250. Have put about 140 jumps on it so far. Will probably go to something like a 107 sometime early summer. Have done a jump on a Stilletto-107 and several on EgoMike's Crossfire-99. Both obviously more fun than the Sabre, but probably a bit radical for me yet (especially the Crossfire).
  15. Well, a former coworker of mine would go play basketball or running for 20 min and then come back to the office sans shower. I didn't have to share his office with him though so no real evidence of bad BO to deal with.
  16. We're not all gifted with the tact and diplomacy of those such as yourself. Btw, missed you and the Monkey by not beeing at Eloy this year. Some hugs your way....
  17. Sorry, but most of us don't like fugly looking hippy rigs.
  18. granny, Start with the older, broken-in canopies. Work your way up to those new biatches. I'm reluctant to buy anything with
  19. Eloy is only 1500' elevation, but could be quit a bit different for folks coming from sea level and more windy places. Summer time always makes for fun landing here in AZ, landing in 110 degree zero wind weather is always fun . Byron (NorCal) is sealevel, and it just seemed a little bit speedier to me - nothing traumatic or that I couldn't handle though. I have to agree with LouDiamond - it's the (lack of) landing skill. The few times I've biffed in the past year or so I realize that I just f'ked up.
  20. Never heard of "imperial" gallons. Weird - especially when the blinking light implies that I really only have a little bit of "imperial" gallons and not regular.
  21. uhhhh, 92 jumps? 5 jumps on a Crossfire-99? 1 jump on a DC-9 Jet? I guess those are my big "numbers" this year.
  22. Any of you Prius owners know how to get this? The manual says 11.9 gal (9.9 imp) and everytime I've filled up after seeing the last blinking square, I have filled up around 9 gallons. I want to see a really "miles left" calc though. WTF does the (9.9 imp) mean, implied? What does "implied" mean for gallons of gas? Why two difference? Bill von?
  23. Ditto. Timmae is cool and knows his shit.
