  1. I'm unemployed right now and "dealing with it" (as in looking for work). I just got another rejection following an interview today. It's tough out there, but no, I'm trying to control my whining, even though I will run out of money sometime this year if I don't get something soon. And I haven't done a skydive since late October of last year (which sucks a lot). And I have a pet.
  2. Did you see THIS? Now I have. Not bad, but mine is more explicit and I think funnier.
  3. OK, from reading the article, I voted: Outrageous, but agree with Vinnie about it being "fair". When I say fair, I say that as a corporate entity, B of A should be able to do what it wants here - and they ARE providing a way to access the money with a single withdraw - which is exactly what I would do. Now, why then did I vote Outrageous? Because it is slimy, exploitative and just a stupid business decision that will cost them any reputation they may still have. I have always felt that B of A had horrible customer service and this is just another case of reinforcing it. Of course, it also rather stupid of the state to do this by giving the only option of dealing with B of A. I just chalk it up to another stupid decision by a bank, similar to selling sub-prime mortgages, except the biggest risk here is "reputation".
  4. I see - multiple issues around the country. Still, the thread topic may be too broad...unless no one here has anything to discuss.
  5. You should have titled the thread with the same as the name of the CNN article, but oh well. I think it would have gotten people's attention better. Anyways, pretty horrible of these judges. Glad that they were caught.
  6. Not bad, but I liked this one better: http://docs.google.com/TeamPresent?docid=ddp4zq7n_0cdjsr4fn&skipauth=true&pli=1&ncl=true
  7. 12. Adrenaline Air, Santa Rosa, CA (defunct since 2005)
  8. It won't interfere with the plane, but is against FCC regulations because the phones can reach too many cells using the same frequencies/time slots/etc. In practice it works up to a few thousand feet. I'd be willing to call someone from under canopy...if I could rig some lanyard attachment to the phone to prevent losing it.
  9. I think that it is a yes for both Byron and Davis. I've seen some small Jets at Byron (Gareth was trying to get the Perris DC-9 for the Byron Boogie a while back) and the Patriots fly there (MIG style jets). Davis has an L-51 jet fly around at times.
  10. He started when he was 12 or 13, trained by his dad. I met him at a DZ near my parent's, when he and his dad was visiting. He had just turned 14 then.
  11. ...and I'm interested in checking out that re-opening operation if it happens. But I need to get a job first. My reserve expires in two days....and I think I have jumped the rig twice during the current repack cycle. How depressing. Just suck it up and drive to Byron or Davis. The drive isn't bad and the recent Hwy 4 improvements have made it much better to go to Byron.
  12. Some friends of mine have a sign on their refrigerator that says, "Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part." I kinda have mixed feelings about it. I agree with the sentiment, but is seems an excuse to be inflexible to deal with situations that may come up. But if the sentiment can be spread to those that may not be prepared, such that they can be better prepared in the future, then I guess it is a good thing.
  13. I think you're on the thank you list as Orly. Squeakers never could spell well. Yeah what she said, Steve and Guppie, sorry to leave you 2 off of the list it was nice to meet you both. Spence i didn't mean to make you angry mate, sorry for missing you. Yeah, I was suspcious of that . That's why I always say Olé w/o the accent. Good to meet you and Mrs. Squeak.
  14. I thought I would be more to the right on both - especially Economic. I guess when I see these questions, I nearly always think of the exceptions such that I'm not adamant against/for in most of the questions posed.
  15. 2004? That's nothing. I sometimes see stickers from the 90's elections still around. See the comments about Carter....
  16. He could have just turned it around on the pranksters and said that he loves being a happy person.
  17. Go for it and add me: Your political compass Economic Left/Right: -2.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.56
  18. Me too Mrs. Squeak was a very lovely lady! g Me three! And I even gave them a ride back to their hotel after dinner! (Just teasing....not an issue.)
  19. Nm - I just found walkthrough on youtube. So far it has pointed out a couple of totally obvious things, but that is it.
  20. I don't know what to do next. I have the wooden figure, the corkscrew, the note that says newsense, the wine glass, the car jack crank (sort of like a screwdriver) and what looks like a screw attachment. What next? I see the numbers in teh shaps, buttons on that compass in the drawer, buttons on the clock on the wall, but don't know what to do.
  21. This thing is hard...I have six items and I'm stuck - can I have a hint?
  22. Hi, I'm trying to change my cookie settings in Firefox and the Privacy tab doesn't show up. I click on it and nothing happens. Is there a file somewhere that I need to change and can I right-click and change something in about:config? This is my home personal pc, so I don't know why this has happened. Maybe due to something I've downloaded recently. Thanks.
  23. Manteca, CA. If you live there: yeah, I live in lard.
