You'll need to be medically certified (FAA Class III?) and it will cost > $500 for the jump.

So, I'm guessing you sleep on a straw-stuffed organic cotton mattress? ...
-
Beer is yummy. I didn't take it as an insult. Just wondering where you got your figure$.
-
Really? So my Tempurpedic label for my 3" topper and for the thicker (about 6+") mattress I've seen at Costco for about $500 is fake. Whatevs... I guess "Novafoam" is somehow some inferior brand....but my topper is a few years old, so don't know now. Again, whatevs... http://www.costco.com/memory-foam-mattress-toppers.html

Don Sterling, racist, billionaire, Democrat.
Elisha replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
Uh...no. The issue has been raised but few if any are listening and the overriding issue has been determined by the press, political movers and shakers and the rest of the usual suspects are his bigoted remarks and for that Sterling is shall we say, "being forced of his own island." Professional sports here in the States have taken on a civic sense of responsibility by endorsing trendy issues determined to be for the common good. Some causes are good etc etc. Additionally, the NBA like the other major sports here do have By-Laws and conditions of ownership which do include public responsibility, keeping up an image etc etc; all to protect the brand. Owners are bound by legal contract to comply. His comments aside, Sterling does not have a history of trying to make his team a winner. He's traded marquee players who could get him a Championship because he didn't want to pay a higher salary. If ya don't have a desire to win, whaadya doin there in the first place? With his comments, he's hosed himself and is a self branded bigot by his own devices. I'm still wondering why with 100 hours of taped conversation without him knowing it, his girlfriend has not been charged with a felony under California law which requires a two party consent. Personal opinion...this is the opening act and far from over. grue, and this is only another in a long list of incidents for Sterling. The NBA (as an entity) doesn't want the bad PR. -
I've had the 3" tempurpedic "topper" for several years now and love it (on top of a regular mattress). It was only like $100 compared to $500 for the full mattress.

This one is quite a good example of the tactic of legitimacy by association. The title and summary make it appear that the EU is considering cracking down on weather manipulation, which makes their cause sound serious. If the EU is considering cracking down on it then they must ackowledge that it's happening, right? Well, when you look a little closer at the article it's obvious that nothing of the sort is happening. Representatives of a bunch of unnamed 'civil groups' (read: conspiracy theorist mailing lists, most likely) had a meeting in Brussels, submitted a petition to the European Parliament (as anyone can) and were roundly ignored. Hehe...

Appreciate it! Yes, I pretty much knew already, but nice to see someone calmly and rationally explain something (especially in SC). And why do you assume I have graduated from High School? (Yes, I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.)

Trying to actually be serious about this (non)topic though, anyone care to talk about this? http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/europeans-pushing-to-expose-global-climate-engineering/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HzyEN5OPF4 http://www.youtube.com/attribution_link?a=6dNWZJ0pVpU&u=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DbSSWnXQsgOU%26feature%3Dshare Just explain to me like I'm some naïve highschooler and I'll be happy.

Whoa... how can any sane person refute THAT?! I have a crazy-lady friend who is a Chemtrails conspiracy theorist. She has a heart of gold, but is a complete space cadet and obvious gullible as can be. I hear she has never held down a job for more than a few weeks. I think her husband just "doesn't go there" for a myriad of her issues, but since she is a faithful loving wife and mother, he can tolerate (or ignore) all her craziness. She posted the "pilot forgot to turn off chemtrails" pic the other day.

My favorite was a site with the "50 best tweets" about Joffrey's death. The best one was: "You could count the number of people that did NOT want Joffrey to die on Jaime's right hand." Booya!

There's a beer bar near me (40 handles...lotsa great stuff) that has a huge Jenga set made from 2 x 4's. But obviously has nothing on that.

That's been my thought since day 3, and certainly since they confiscated the flight simulator from the PIC's home. Ain't it weird how they got mum on that all of a sudden like? Best- Richard The entire affair is weird if you ask me. Something is being concealed. This answers all the questions I ever had about this flight. http://tinyurl.com/qx2aqee Yeah, that must be the answer! Hah!

I don't think they've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it actually went down over the Indian Ocean, but that's just me. No, not just you! I remain skeptical.

I refuse to be extorted. If it isn't complementary (or reasonable market price), I'll drink before or after the flight.

Yes....I set it up so they could buy it (special "transportation" package - funky looking can).

The poor plane got Vadered, didn't it... Vadered? Is that a term for the FAA grounding it? Yes, it was $70 when jumped it just after Christmas in '07 I think it was. Jarrett Martin was on it jumping a wingsuit. Another bird told me when I landed that it took him 20 sec to just get down to the starting altitude due to the groundspeed.

I COULD read the big E, but not really anymore. So, 20/400. Now 20/13.

I think Johnny Weir (the gay figure skater) would disagree. Just watch his interview with Keith Olbermann before the Olympics. Sure, there are problems there, but I think the media inflates them quite a bit.
