  1. I planted some seeds around a month or so ago. Will I get any flowers before freezing weather comes and kills them? Since it doesn't get that much below freezing here, maybe I can put some plastic over them to prevent it. Thanks.
  2. The DZ was just a bit far away...and too late to drive to. Per my previous post, the beer was already flat just 24 hours later.
  3. I hate the fact that people keep speculating about icing. Ice, for the most part, happens in clouds. This was a VFR flight. Further, according to this article; PLEASE stop speculating. Sorry, but I was NOT speculating. I was asking a general question relating to plane crashes per the thread title, as I am not an aeronautical expert. Icing was brought up by someone else on another thread. I was asking questions relating to that. I don't appreciate being falsely accused. JP, Thanks for the answers.
  4. Well, I have more questions: 1. Someone mentioned that Caravan's glide well. Why would it go into a nose dive? 2. What is icing and why is it bad per se? 3. If icing is bad, then why does it not really affect jet planes which routinely fly way over 20K? Thanks.
  5. The Spaten was almost completely flat when I tried this evening. I had to dump it.
  6. I apologize - I was the only skydiver at this party. The crowd was a little more wine-oriented as well.
  7. Can you? I brought a Spaten 5 L mini-keg to a BBQ yesterday and there is still about 1/3 left. I turned the top knob back to the closed position and shoved the spout back in. Will it still be ok for a few days or will be it flat and taste like sh*t? I know the only way to really know is to just drink it, but I wanted an answer by someone in the know. Thanks.
  8. I'm convinced. I'll have to try that with my 20lb lazy fat boy. MAYBE it'll get him running around! Looks like fun for me too!
  9. Yes....and then click on the "trace precedents" button to see what cells factor into the formula in B3 or whatever cell you're looking at.
  10. Is he dead or severely injured?
  11. I command you to buy...used, affordable gear. And then, after 100 jumps, go buy a Wings.
  12. Oh, and I'm 160 OTD and there is are a couple of female camera gals that could be close to Japanese Freestyle Females in weight as well.
  13. I have never seen a skydiving 206 that didn't have 6 jumpers as its normal load. i have no idea why you think it would be "bold" to get in one with six jumpers. Like I said... I'll happily wave at any 206 taxiing out with 6 jumpers + 1 pilot on board... Ahem...if you want to wave at us, just make sure you're waving to all 8 of us...7 + pilot. It is a turbo and we still get 800/min. 5 or less plus pilot seems almost...turbine-ish in that turbo 206.
  14. Here's another couple (sorry, no pictures): #1 I've seen a rainbow strip (very thin - about an inch wide or less and over a foot long) on the back of cars - like a bumpersticker. Is that just a gay pride type of sticker? It seems different than the flags - almost like a decoration. #2 Today, I saw a rainbow cat sticker on the back of a car. WTF is that supposed to be - they support lesbo cats or something?
  15. crazy f*cker. At least you're otherwise healthy. Heal up soon.
  16. Oh, 10 sounds if shouldn't be a problem. We've been putting 7 routinely up in Cloverdale in the turbo 206 and someone even said they crammed in 8 once (maybe they were all Japanese female freestylists).
  17. The heart attack in a wrapper I might get today is: A Greek burger ground lamb patty topped with hummus, melted feta, grilled onions, lettuce and tomato. I just noticed this the other day at a place called Pita Cafe (Mediteranean food) located next to the Subway I was going to for the daily $2.99 special.
  18. I answered my own question. DC Power was booth 223.
  19. Bill, Was DC Power systems there? I might get a job in their finance department. I know the CEO.
  20. What's the difference practically speaking between a CASA and skyvan? They seem pretty close to me. I guess you can have more people past the red line on a CASA unless I'm mistaken.
  21. Hey - I can't help it if my repack cycles always coincide with the American and Byron boogies - they need to change the dates! Matter of fact, the Byron Boogie should have been the FOLLOWING weekend so I could actually go this year! Arrrrrggggghhh! I'm going to be in St. Louis for a conference that has been planned for over 6 months...for which almost all my expenses have been paid. Have fun and be safe for me.

    Spectre?

I know a camera flier who jumps Sabre1's....with the regular factory un-modified slider...and they are 150+ in size. To each their own...
  23. I sent mine too today. Should make it by the 27th.
  24. An old Ren N' Stimpy episode from over 15 years ago coined this from my experience. You can not resist the big red button....
