  1. And how do we do this? I just see a page and no links/forms/contact info on the website, although I'm sure I could get the Byron contact info from bayareaskydiving.com. Btw, I've seen your mug at Skydance boogies, but you probably don't remember me, as we haven't formally met. How do you pronounce your name?
  2. I haven't received it yet. Has anyone else not gotten their's yet? Should I call and bitch now?
  3. I think they are only $15 daily at The Parachute Center in Lodi, CA. Keep in mind that they are non-USPA.

  5. Glad it went well...but you could have at least compromised and got something like a keg of Heineken. If it had to be light, at least make it something good.
  6. Congrats, Phil! And I'll try not to be the world's slowest tracker next time too.
  7. Rather ironic, but below was the case up until around my last 25 jumps... Now, I have my own rig, even if it is used and this has been happening... I find that watching Good Stuff and stuff form skydivingmovies.com helps.
  8. Different but related. I echo this sentiment. I frequently had the "warm fuzzy" feeling when tutoring other students in math when I was in college. Likewise, even though I've been the 4th slot, soloing on a tandem w/ vid load many a time now, it is nice to share the experience with a first time tandem. This past weekend, this lady about 50 or so did a tandem. She had no idea what she was doing that day, as a guy friend just took her on a drive. She thought maybe wine tasting, but found out differently when she saw the DZ sign. She was very calm, a great sport about it and enjoyed the experience. I don't know if I could ever have the time to get a coach rating (as in time needed to be involved in the sport), but I enjoy teaching at times. (But I don't think I would EVER be willing to be a math teacher. Give me mature adults and practical data to work with any day over babysitting those who don't want to be there.)
  9. Cool. I think I read somewhere that Mark Philipousis used to be (or still is) an avid skydiver.
  10. And sooooooo proud of it! I accept nothing less!
  11. I'm going to eat a Freschetta frozen pizza after I do some yoga...with the pizza accompanied by a Moretti La Rossa (dark Italian lager).
  12. And then you guys will need me with my statistical/actuarial background to analyze the data for you...for reasonable consulting fees of course.
  13. I'll ask my rigger at the next repack, but from looking at the card I think the 12 years + 3 Mos from the AirTech website will be up by this time next year. I don't really want to spend a grand or so on an AAD. Is there much of a used Cypres market?

    Point Break

I rented ExtremeOps this weekend. Cheezy of course, but good action scenes.
  15. 0:2:0 Two uneventful solo jumps (4th slot on the cessna tandem load w/ vid). Nice standup on my first, but slipped on landing on my second and got a little dirty.
  16. Beth, I didn't know you were into (Golden) showers.
  17. I'll take mosquito bites any day over poison oak....(insert sideshow Bob shudder).
  18. I think it must've been "Good Stuff" - I just watched some of that tonight.
  19. Dude, you said public transportation. Mine was the most viable option. I'm sure there is some sort of bus service from Pittsburg to Brentwood or even Byron or possible at least to bum ride off someone FROM the Byron DZ back to the Pitt BART station.
  20. Take BART to Pittsburg and then get someone to give you a ride to Byron. Probably the closest DZ. Google says Byron is 23.5 mi from Pittburg.
  21. So, did I get to all your guilty conscience's and make you run to church or am I just the best thread killer ever?
  22. Oh, and thanks for letting me look better, Tom.
