  1. tracked back toward the flight path and almost over a jumper that was opening his canopy downwinded a landing and didn't PLF correctly (and got banged up) sasheyd in the landing area on final (I'm guessing this means S-turns) (do this way too often) Forgot my altimeter (once) Forgot to turn on my Cypres (once) landed off - winds were in the high teens though (twice) probably some others.
  2. WE WANT PICS! WE WANT PICS! WE WANT PICS! (of the puppy)
  3. Thanks. It looks like the original Sabre was in '89. I thought mine was 97, but I was wrong - 91!. Works fine though.
  4. No, Sin is the cause of all of our problems. Don't let the Devil make you do it.
  5. Yes, I know, the date is written on the tail. I want to know when they were made from (e.g. Sabres manufactured from 90-96, Sabre2's 97+) or whatever. I didn't see anything about this on the Performance Designs website, but I'd like to know this for other manufactures as well if possible.
  6. Why do you keep saying tortie? What is a tortie? The kitten looks like a silver tabby (same style markings as an orange, but silver/gray instead). The first one I happened to see was at the vet and being "stored" for the moment with a grandpa - and it was a male kitten. Grandpa was a trainer cat to teach unruly kittens manners (he smacked them around when they got out of line). But yes, I think silver tabbys are generally female.
  7. Awwwww, how cuuute! Looks like a silver tabby. Congrats! With the extra toe, it looks like a Hemmingway cat!
  8. Thanks...about what I thought.
  9. It is probably because GravityGirl is in Rantoul at the WFFC.
  10. Curious. What is the differenence in price between getting gear wholesale vs retail (i.e. dealer markup)? Different percentage for container vs main vs reserve vs AAD vs other stuff?
  11. Something I'm also skeptical about. A guy I know works for some technology company that was building some sort of similar watch (don't know the name). He had prototype that had an alti in it. He mentioned the update as well. I took it on a skydive and put it next to my analog Alti-2 and I think it seemed to update ok. Again, it (a watch) is too small in any case to use as your chief altimeter.
  12. Thanks, McBeth. Good to see you on Sat.
  13. Hey Frenchy, I'm not Breathing Hard anymore.
  14. Old thread, but blame the person who resurrected it - I'm game.
  15. No, no, *I* got to watch the track dive from behind - becuase I obviously can't track!
  16. Wow, you procrastinated almost as long as me (I just got stamped and faxed it in last week)! I know three others who waited significantly longer though.
  17. Yup, in my wasting time in the internet at work, I saw them. Loved the Glacier National Park pics as well. Was that Mt. Shasta as well? How do you pronounce his name anyways (Iwan)?
  18. He probably doesn't remember me, but I've met him briefly a couple of times at Skydance. You know I'm terrible with names and "Elisha" isn't ringing a bell. It's definately a general flaw in my character but I'm working on it. Next time we meet you should do something memorable like biting my leg. Then you can at least say something like "You remember me... I bit your leg!!!" Soon you'll have a cool initial nickname like LB and everyone will know who you are. Well, I'm probably only about as high as your leg.... No, I'm only around 5'6" - so rather short for a guy. If you read the nicknames thread in Bonfire, you can get probably more personal info about me than you really care. I was at the American Boogie this year Friday afternoon until early Saturday afternoon and hanging out with a late 40's blond. She's a total whuffo (never seen skydiving before), but after hanging out, was willing to do a tandem sometime. I think she said she talked to you briefly. She was wearing a long skirt. Oh, and I plan to be at the B & B at Davis tomorrow.
  19. I did a 2-way with some dude at the American Boogie last year and we were both landing at the beginner landing area ("the Barn"). Shortly after we were under canopy, a 100+ ft dust devil appears where the van is supposed to pick us up. I was telling myself, "You Mr. Dust Devil can stay on your side of the field and I'll stay on the other side." We both landed w/o incident. That guy was going to send me a DVD with footage from that jump, but never did. I wish he would just upload it to skydivingmovies.com
  20. Do they do anything special for Sunset loads usually? Is a XC something typical sunset? That sounds fun, since I've never done one.
  21. This far ahead of time? That sucks! I'm going out on a limb and assume that: the USPA does not reject my 'A' License card (it is stamped and has been faxed) and that something doesn't come up. Someone please move me to the "coming" list (although I am breathing hard at the moment since I overindulged at this great catered employee lunch).
  22. And I sooooo hate you for it....sprichts du Deutsch? Oh you know it..
  23. Isn't Tyson married himself or am I behind on current events? Or is it just that he has brood from past marriages hanging around the house?
