I concur. The Farm is the best DZ ever!!!
-
The last time I jumped with this balloon operator (Skyfest '08), he put us right on the DZ, in the main landing area. So if you're looking for an out landing I suggest you find another way, extra long spot or tracking the wrong way perhaps???? altimeters-checked baggage or carry on?
lauraliscious replied to bigbearfng's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My pro-trak cover got cracked one time when I left it in my helmet and checked it through. L&B replaced the whole pro-trak for free (they ROCK), but from now on I will carry both my visual and analog alti's on. And on another note, I once had 2 pocket knifes that I HAD to put in my check bag stolen out of there when I was going on a camping trip. The also removed my waterproof matches, which I later found out I should have carried on. I was pretty pissed about the knifes. Bottom line...I wouldn't check ANYTHING valuable. I glanced at the original thread very briefly before it was deleted. From what I remember, some people were posting that certain DZ's that used to take Skyride certificates have stopped taking them because they weren't getting paid. Do I remember correctly, is that accurate?? If so then that's great news! Not that the DZ's aren't getting their $$, but that they've stopped taking the certificates. But I guess I can't feel too sorry for them, they should have known better than to do business with such a disreputable company... Happy happy Birthday!

That sums me up pretty well too. I've been able to appear more extroverted as I've gotten older, and more comfortable with myself, but I'm definitely still very much an introvert. Definitely need my "recharge" time, as being around people and making small talk too long wears me out! Enemiga Rodriguez, PMS #369, OrFun #25, Team Dirty Sanchez #116, Pelt Head #29, Muff #4091

+1 If it's an issue to her, then it's an issue. It wouldn't be an issue for me, because I'm not that big on Valentine's Day, but that doesn't matter because your relationship is between you and her. So I guess you just have to ask yourself, how important is this relationship to you? Because if you value the relationship, then it's an issue for you too. Besides, are you going to try to change her mind about it by saying, "Look, we can celebrate Valentine's Day and our anniversary together! I took a poll on dz.com and everyone says I'm right!" Because I'm pretty sure that will not go over well. Enemiga Rodriguez, PMS #369, OrFun #25, Team Dirty Sanchez #116, Pelt Head #29, Muff #4091

How much money would you commit to a C-130 Boogie
lauraliscious replied to CSpenceFLY's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'd probably do 2, maybe more if there was a record attempt. I'm glad the Roaming DZ is back in business. -

I'm a BUILDER/director and gravitate to Builder/negotiators Most of this is true for me too, except I'm not so sure at the good leader part.... You are an executive. You are consistent, reliable, thorough and persevering. You can also be socially charming. So you are good at managing others at home and work, in your social circles, and in community projects. You are efficient too. You have high standards and take your duties seriously, focusing carefully and persistently on your assignments with sensible, concrete, tough-minded thinking and exactitude. You respect schedules, rules, routines and customs. Appropriate behavior is generally important to you. Yet you have a streak of the independent and innovative thinker. As a result, you have a good balance between conventionality and originality. You are also a good leader. You are direct, analytical, and skeptical, as well as emotionally contained and clear headed. You acquire the perks of rank more easily than most. And you handle your possessions gracefully. You also enjoy time alone, focusing deeply on your personal interests. Tennessee is a big state. Which dropzone would be the best to go to really depends on where in the state you will be. And if you mean the dropzone in Tullahoma when you say "Tennessee Skydiving", I'm not really sure that there is a steady group of up jumpers that jump there anymore. The owner (Chris Martin) died several years ago, and the last I heard Mike Mullins has been flying there about once a month but mostly doing tandems. I could be mistaken though. I would definitely call ahead to see if they'll be operating before you go. If you're around the Knoxville area and are looking for a good, fun group of people to jump with, I'd recommend Skydive East Tennessee. There's a really good group of fun jumpers here, they're building a new dropzone from scratch which will open in March. It's off the Sevierville exit on I-40. Until the new DZ opens they are operating out of the Greeneville (TN) airport. If you're interested, PM me and I'll get you put on the google group.... Does anyone have any pictures of Chip? I've been to Skydive Carolina a fair number of times, but not sure if I've ever met him. My mom called me tonight too to tell me that the tandem student who was jumping with Chip is going to be on Good Morning America tomorrow. Blue skies Chip. He might be wearing his special Tom Hayden for President shirt. My shirt says "Who the hell is Tom Hayden?" I can't get anyone from up here to come with me either. Apparently a group of people is going to DeLand or Zhills. I told them DeLand and Zhills are always there and the RoamingDZ events are special, and few and far between. Oh well, their loss. Guess they're not cool enough to be in the cool kids group. Enemiga Rodriguez, PMS #369, OrFun #25, Team Dirty Sanchez #116, Pelt Head #29, Muff #4091

Greeneville TN is NOT Outlaw field, if that's what you meant. The peopele starting Skydive East Tennessee (Gary Spears and a few others) are flying 2 C-182's out of Greeneville for the winter until the new DZ opens in March, on the Sevierville exit (#407) off of I-40. Kip is not involved with Skydive East Tennessee, he is still running Skydive Smoky Mountains at Cooper field as far as I know. Skydive East Tennessee is operating out of the Greeneville (TN) airport temporarily this winter (until the new DZ officially opens in March), weather permitting. So Outlaw field is definitely not the only place to jump in TN this winter. Enemiga Rodriguez, PMS #369, OrFun #25, Team Dirty Sanchez #116, Pelt Head #29, Muff #4091
