People who work at non uspa dropzones do have follow the BSR's of USPA if they want to keep their ratings!! A fun jumper is different. The instructors are still required. As far as Demo's waivers are done by FAA and why would they ask for a membership as long as you are qualified. That's why I put that foot note in there. Like I said, there's no law that you have to be a member of some club to jump out of an airplane. And I am pretty sure that if a person were to be employed at a non-USPA DZ, go through the training and show the proficiency just as he/she would if they were getting a USPA Instructor's ticket (with the exception of Tandem) That person can operate with no problem. And for the Tandem rating, I may be mistaken, but 4 different DZO's that have told me on more than one occasion that as long as you have the manufacturer's rating, you don't have to be a USPA member. I'm not Tandem rated, so I'm not going to try to dive too far into the requirements on that rating. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

Don't worry about the USPA, you don't need it. Joining or being a member of a "Club" does not make you a better skydiver. The only thing it does is enables you to jump at DZ's that are gung ho USPA group members. (that mentality only limits their business) Our staff and jumpers are USPA members, but we don't require it. If someone shows up wanting to jump, and they have current entries in their logbook, and their reserve is current, we just check them out and pair them up with a qualified staff member for their first jump. It's that simple. And furthermore, the USPA cannot show up at a non USPA DZ and say someone cannot do this or that. I don't know if they can do that at a USPA member DZ. They are NOT a Government Affiliated Agency and they have no governing powers if you're not a member. I will add that by me saying this, that does not mean that I am anti USPA, I think they are great organization with the exception that they, like hundreds of customers, got screwed by sLyride, I just believe that a lot of people have way over-estimated their power and what little authority they do have. I have done Demos into everything from Birthday parties and Wedding receptions to Football games and drag and stock car racetracks, and the FAA has yet to ask me for my USPA membership info. I have done those both without being a member, as an expired member and as a current member. The FAA didn't care. I'm sure I'm going to catch some friction from saying this, but until someone of governing authority tells me different, you are not required by any Federal, State or Local laws to be a member. My statement here may or may not apply to any level of Instructional ratings, ie; Tandem, AFF, SL etc. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

Today, Tennessee State law says No to Skyride!
Jumpdude replied to Jumpdude's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am adding some examples to the previous post since I missed the edit period ealier. This is two of sLyride's sites for what they advertise to be "Nashville Skydiving" http://www.nashvilleskydiving.com and http://www.skydivenashville.com This is the link for the Georgia Supreme Court order; http://funjumper.com/skyride/gadoc.pdf You will notice that this court order directs sLyride to add their physical locations to their websites and is to be on the home pages. And there are other directions in this court order as well that they have showed no apparent effort to comply such as the obvious links to their "Terms and conditions" and the modified information contained in those pages. After checking those sites, and the court order, you will see that theyr have not done nothing more than thumb their nose at the court order and the Tennessee law. This is the Whois report for one of their domains that they are apparently trying to hide the identity of the ownership of the domain so they don't have to comply with the court order. http://who.godaddy.com/WhoIs.aspx?domain=nashvilleskydiving.com&prog_id=godaddy as far as I can tell, they have done this to all of their domains that are used in Tennessee and I'm sure they do it in the other states as well. It is quite obvious that sLyride is trying to pull out all the stops to continue to scam their customers as much as possible. Another point that they probably didn't consider when they did this change, is the we now have a law the govern their kind of deceptive advertising, and by them showing ownership in Tennessee, it makes it more enforcable, and will show those theives that the are not above the law and now, our law DOES effect them! So my message to all you sLyride supporters that read these posts, and I know you follow them, GET LEGAL OR GET THE HELL OUT! Refuse to Lose!!! Today, Tennessee State law says No to Skyride!
Jumpdude replied to Jumpdude's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
To no one's surprise, sLyride is not complying with the new Tennessee Law and they seem to have completely thumbed their nose at the Georgia Supreme Court order. They must know that their time is short and they are scamming as many people that they came before the Government shuts them completely down. Any thoughts? Refuse to Lose!!! Making 1st Tandem Jump this weekend ... Any Suggestions
Jumpdude replied to seadream91's topic in Tandem Skydiving
Make REAL SURE that you know that the person that you are talking to about making your jump actually works at the location that you will be jumping at. This is very important information. Make sure that the DZ is not in any way affiliated with the company called 1 800 Skyride, Adventure Skydiving, Thrill Planet, IGOVincent and/or quite a few other aliases. They are a scam. I'm not going to burn up a lot of time here explaining the situation because almost each and every user here knows the deal, just go to the thread on DZ.com Forums that's titled "What can we do about Skyride II" for more information. This is another good reference for information; http://1800skyrideripoff.com/Skydiving/skyride/ If the person you are trying to schedule with asks you where you are before they tell you where they are or they are in a big hurry to get your credit card number, hang up the phone because only REAL Skydive Centers will openly tell you their physical locations. Keep in mind that if the place is real, it doesn't matter to that person where you live. Often Most places will direct you to a DZ that is closer to you anyway. Not all, but most. Be careful and don't get screwed. Check the references I have listed here and you will see indisputable proof that I am telling you the truth. Refuse to Lose!!! What Can We Do About Skyride II
Jumpdude replied to slotperfect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah, without fail, I always advise those people who contact me to do 3 things, (A) Contact their state's Attorney General, as well as the Ga. AG. (B) Gather all the info they can from the various Consumer Alerts and other customers that have been screwed who can be found online, and approach the local news media to hopefully get a news story ran to help educate others to keep them from getting screwed. (C) Don't try to take on sLyride on their own, simply because the average person does not have the financial backing to go head to head with sLyride. If any of that is bad advice, let me know so I can either adjust it or to change it to something different. I'll PM you for the contact info. Thanks,,, Refuse to Lose!!! What Can We Do About Skyride II
Jumpdude replied to slotperfect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Does anyone have anything new in the fight to stop sLyride? I had someone pm me yesterday that had been jacked on a Skydiving gift cert. just this past week. The person didn't know who to contact, so this person made a DZ.com user name to be able to contact some of us for help. So that being said, and I have seen no effort on their part to clean up their act to be in accordance with the Georgia Supreme Court Order, I guess they are thumbing their nose at that just like everything else.... Why are there no Antonov AN-2's in the US?
Jumpdude replied to flyhi's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Just a thought. There's one sitting down at Columbia, Tennessee that I think has been there about 10 years that I know of. I wondered then if it was jumpable, then saw this thread and thought I'd ask. Thanks for the feedback. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -
Why are there no Antonov AN-2's in the US?
Jumpdude replied to flyhi's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I may be thinking outside the box, or I may have missed something, but how practical or possible would it be to fit an AN2 with a Turbine. The Caravans, Pac 750's and Porters are turbine, so why not the AN2? I'm sure it would be expensive, but is it possible. I'm not an A&P, but I really don't see why it couldn't be done. ie; Beech 18 with a Turbine becomes a Westwind (in some form or another) Everything I am seeing in this thread tells me that the biggest Physical problem with the AN2 itself is that the engines like to take a shit occasionally and they use a lot of oil and some gas. ie; RADIAL.. That being said, It appears that a turbine on an Bi-wing aircraft would be an incredibly excellent climber considering how much lift all that square footage of the wings will make. On the flip side of all of this, I sure the FAA would find some way to shit on the idea. Just a thought. Like I said, I'm not an A&P and only have about 120 hours of airtime in Cessna's, so, what do I know? Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -
182 flipped over at skydive las vegas
Jumpdude replied to freeflychris's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I'm not sure if that's the DZ, but the is one in Vegas that takes sLyride. If that's them, Well,,, Go figure... That is to be expected of anyone that is in bed with those crooks. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -
Another thing is that the DZ's that don't take kids are cutting off about possibly as much as 30% of the business that they could have. Good business???????? Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

There are quite a few of you gems out there! How do you guys deal with release of liability waivers? We are talking about Case Law here. Not the decision of the DZ. (Possibly influenced by liabilities etc.) Simple, keep it safe, use the proper equipment and don't get hurt or killed. Refuse to Lose!!! Come to Russellville. We're not a USPA DZ, and we do take kids. We don't pay any attention to USPA's garbage. The BSR's mean Basic Safety RECOMMENDATIONS, at least ass far as the USPA is concerned. The FAA's rules and regs are more enforcable. The only governing authority that can have any real say so in skydiving is the FAA and they don't bother us very much. Now they can ground a DZ for cloud jumping or other illegal acts. The most I've ever seen the FAA do is the occasional ramp check, and I've never seen one at Cessna DZ's. The FAA does not dictate an age limit. They look at it just as if a kid were a passenger on American Airlines. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org

What Can We Do About Skyride II
Jumpdude replied to slotperfect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The Smart thing to do that would give the greatest chance of winning their legal battles would be to actually run an Honest Business. Something that they simply have not done in the past. It is pretty pathetic that so many people think Fraud and deception are acceptable business practices. Glad to hear that Skydive Dallas has finally decided drop their association Skyride. Between the Injunction in Georgia, the on going Lawsuit in AZ and the New Law in Tennessee... Hopefully Skyride will someday get what they deserve. The only correction that I would make to you statement is where you said they have not been honest in the past, didn't you mean the past and the current and possibly the future. Well at least that's the way I see it. On another note, the last info I got is that Skydive Kentucky, (The guy that picked up after Bardstown closed), has cut his affiliation with sLyride. So that means that there is no DZ's in Kentucky that takes sLyride. Word has it, and I have not heard this from the horse's mouth, but sLyride jacked the owner out of quite a large chunk of money. I didn't see it, so I can't confirm that but it sounds consistent. Three unrelated sources told me the same thing, so I kinda have to believe it. Refuse to Lose!!! That's awesome! Another victory and another step colser to those fuckers going away! ***Tip*** watch for their advertisements in the different forums and give the appropriate feedback. What Can We Do About Skyride II

WOOHOO!!! Go get em Eloy! Larry for President, Betsy for Vice President!!! I'm for making noise! Look at the Tennessee State Law, which to no one's surprise, sLyride has thumbed their noses tom, but the point is, we are some persistant MFer's and we absolutely will not give up until sLyride is gone! When I heard they were going to set up camp in Clarksville, I immediately got on my Registrar Acct and bought up each and every domain that pointed to Clarksville Skydiving and every derivitive of just to block them from fraudulently marketing Clarksviille. The point is that I felt highly complimented when a former (Supposedly former) vender rep for sLyride called me to imform me that I was a :Pain in their ass" because I put up a road block. I told him "Thank you for the compliment" I guess the point is that they know that Eloy is not alone in this fight. Let's keep the fight going and no one drop the ball. Besides all of this,,,, Where's all the sLyride supporters through all of this? Someone said they are "Running their DZ's" But why are they not here defending sLyride?? I guess no loyalty afterall, or no balls!! Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

Jumpdude replied to mitsuman's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Forget AFF and go Static Line Progression. It's a couple of thousand dollars cheaper and it doesn't ram all that info down your throat all at one time. Plus, there's nowhere as many failed jumps or jumps that you will have to re-do. AFF only benefits the DZ and only benefits the student that is well off financially enough to drop $250+ per jump, AND those that are the kind that were born with a rig on their back. Static LIne jumps usually are around $165 up to around $225 for the first jump, and They usually drop to around $65 or less for the following jumps. Keep in mind, Yes you are a student, and you will have to pay more for your jumps because you will have an instructor attached to you, but Upjumpers only pay $20 to $25 (Average) per jump, so why get hosed for hundreds? Do the math. Keep your money in your pocket, Go Static Line. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -
