Today, Tennessee State law says No to Skyride!
Jumpdude replied to Jumpdude's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well, I guess the good thing is that they will be fighting the Tennessee Attorney General if that makes any difference. They won't get any money out of me, there's no money to be had here. I live in an apartment and don't own anything that would be worth anything to anyone. So that being said, I guess I have nothing to loose. Refuse to Lose!!! Skyride is fixin to find out how expensive it is to break the law. After we get through with them, they will think twice before screwing with a bunch of ass kickin', Redneck Tennesseans again! Hang on to your ass skyride, enjoy the ride that we are going to give you! Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

I guess the difference between a skyride owned DZ and a privately owned DZ that accepts skyride vouchers is that the Non-skyride owned DZ will be less likely to out right screw the customer where as the Skyride owned DZ has no problem either double charging the customer or acting like they don't have any record of the customer ever calling or even existing. The best advise to give a customer that has gotten screwed by skyride is to tell them to ontact their state's Attorney General and present their case along with the evidence. A customer should never try to go head to head with skyride, that customer will lose. Mostly, individual people don't have the financial backing to win against skyride. It's all about money. Well, at least you agree that skyride is a scam. I'm sure that offshore people are probably unreachable, but give us some credit here, at least it's a effort anyway. It is more targeted towards companies like skyride that are widely know for thumbing their nose at the law and doing everything they can to screw the customer. I will contradict myself by saying this, but if a company is straight up in their business practices and don't try to rip people off, I have no problem with that company. The whole Skyride idea could have been a wonderful idea, but Ben and Cary had to go get greedy. As I have said earlier in this thread, if a business is selling a shipable product, I don't really care where that company is as long as I get what I paid for, but in the case of Skydiving, as you know, the customer has to come to your place of business to receive the services and that's where the problem comes in. As you should know, skyride sells a skydive on the pretense that the customer thinks he/she will be going to a DZ that is just minutes from their home. There is documented cases that skyride has told customers that the dz is only 10 minutes from their home, them after the customer gave up the credit card info, they were told that they had to go to Atlanta, Ga. which was in exess of 200 miles for one customer that I know of. That's why we got this law made. Keep your business clean and you'll never hear any complaints from anyone. That's the way I see it. Refuse to Lose!!! If sLyride was not in the picture at all, every legitimate DZ in the country would have more business than they could do. Just think of how many people each year that buys the Skyride jump ticket, only to find later that they have to drive hundreds of miles, passing possibly as many as 3 or 4 (or more)real DZ's before getting to a skyride DZ, then they just say "screw it" and never make the jump they paid for and never knowing that there may have been a DZ within an hour or so for their home. I wonder if skyride actually pays taxes on all of that free money they get evey year. Hummmm??? Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

Don't worry, when I presented the case to Our Senator, I was very careful to add those sites in the list as well. I presented the Senator with OVER 400 websites from sLyride, Adventure, thrill planet, and their other names for skydiving alone. I also added the ones for the Hot air balloons, race car driving, war birds, gliders, white water rafting, and countless others. In all I presented the Senator with close to 1000 websites. Most were duplicates of each other with only the name changed, but the senator was blow away enough that you see the ending result. Refuse to Lose!!! Not sure I would have admitted that. 8.5 here and don't mind putting a measuring tape to it on the top side. Besides that, I did come here to compara Johnsons. Being that you work for sLyride, do you really think that hardly anyone will vote for you? I won't. You screwed yourself on that one when you took the sLyride job. Talk back to ya tomorrow. I've been on here in the forums off and on for probably a year now and almost every time I've said something about sLyride, some supporter jumped in and tried to take over the conversation and put up their smoke screen. Well,,,, Where are they now??? Second time I've asked that. They see they don't have a dog in this hunt now. So how does it feel to be all alone skyride? It looks like your friends bailed out on you.... Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

Yep, like I said, I didn't know if I would be right or wrong by saying that about the 800 numbers. You are right about that though, there are more of them popping up. You may also be right about the law not allowing a company to do as you with the multiple locations. The point of it was to stop companies like skyride from advertising to be everywhere they are not and in our case, up until a couple of months ago, they did not have any locations in Tennessee, but a couple of the idiots that we Kicked out of our DZ opened the door at Clarksville for skyride. But that's ok, last I heard, now all he is to them is their grounds keeper. I've heard that consistently from multiple credible sources. Thanks for the congrats. I am one person that absolutely does not sit around and whine, I may not win every time, but my opponent will definitely know I've been there and this is no exception. I never give up and I don't quit. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

As for the extended hours answering, We have two of us that do that, Myself and our DZO. We miss almost none of the calls (unless we didn't have reception at the time, cell phones, go figure). I will add that we are a small Cessna DZ, so if we were larger, it might be different. We still prefer to communicate with our customers by voice, but we do sometimes use email if the customer prefers. The 800 number thing has not been an issue for us. The way cell phones are now days, I think, and I could be wrong, 800 numbers may become a thing of the past. Like I said, I could and probably am wrong about that, but it's some to think about anyway. As for enforcement, It's not at all about enforcing operations in Ga, It's about making sure that if a company like skyride tries to do business in Tennessee, there are laws in place to make sure that they operate legally. I hope all that made sense. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

That's one gray are that we knew about. If it were a situation where a company was providing a service in which they were either coming to your place or selling you a shipable product, that would be one thing, but skydiving, as you know, is a situation where the customers come to us and that is where they use it as the deception. The reason we were able to get that part added was as we know, there are many states that skyride really don't have anyone that will do business with them. and until just in the last couple of months, no one in Tennessee accepted their crap. The point in that is that when a customer sees a website that says they are, let's say, Columbia (Tennessee) Skydiving, The customer calls, then the sales person has to ask where the person is located, then when the customer questions why they are now sent to a location in Georgia which is 250 miles away and they don't get this information until AFTER they have been charged for their skydive PLUS the other BS fees that Skyride charges. That, my friend is why we tweeked the law to add that. I don't know of any DZ around that has to have a call center. They usually do their own answering. We do... and we have no need for an answering service. Refuse to Lose!!! Failure is NOT an option! 1800skyrideripoff.com Nashvilleskydiving.org -

I checked the sites earlier and I don't see any change. i made a call as if I'm a wuffo, they acted the same as if there was no law. Go figure. We worked with our senators all the way back to December to get this law made and stay on the down low until not for this reason. We knew that if they thought that someone would actually enforce this law, they would make the changes. Now since they are illegal, IT"S ON!!!!!!!! Here we go!
