That sort of thing is done in some municipal elections, Houston for example... to be elected mayor, the candidate must have 50%+1 of the votes cast... if no one gets it, the top two have a runoff about a month later. At the national level, the Electoral College presents a problem since it is a winner takes all situation (state-by-state)... a third party candidate would need to win a state to get any electoral college delegates... one would have to go to a purely popular vote, or reform the electoral college to reflect percentages of the vote for each state. Q, Based on the data on the link you provided earlier... looking at all the different polls, it is statistically even (within the margins of error). If I were framing my decision purely based on GWB's stated justifications, I would vote no. If I have the light, I use 1/500 a lot... Most of the time I get F8 or F9.5, sometimes as low as F6.5... but when it starts getting down there, I'll bump the shutter down to 350, or 250... you don't need a super fast shutter speed for RW, but for FF it helps As someone else noted, Av will allow the camera to slow your shutter speed down below an acceptable level if it does not have enoug light... If you want to get a specific aperture value, you should probably go to full manual mode and set your shutter speed as well... but that is an iffy game in freefall. OK, to put things back on track... If you want to get into the video rotation at your DZ you need to do a few things... 1) find out what your DZ requires in terms of experience, equipment, etc... Talk to whomever is running the video concession to get this info... 2) Don't go be behind the video concession's back... you may end up with your ass kicked or thrown off a DZ, and at ther very least, not in the rotation. 3) If a concession requires a camera suit, get one, or be prepared to prove you can get the shots they want without one, every time. 4) You may have to pay your dues, doing unpaid jumps for practice... then "try-sells"... then filling in when needed... all before you get into the rotation... the practice jumps and "try-sells" should be done with the permission of all involved (Concession/DZO, TI, Student). This all takes time... just because you straped a camera to your head, does not give you the right to be in the rotation. Every DZ will be different... some have a chief Instructor, some a camera consession... some its just the DZO... bottom line is, whom ever is in charge of the operation needs to be OK with lurkers (any, not just camera) on student jumps, as well as the instructor on the jump, and for that matter, the student too... and beyond that... whom ever is in charge needs to be even more OK with that lurker trying to sell something to the student, and really needs to ensure that it is not crap that is going out to represent their DZ.
