  1. The typical standard for a modern "Class A" high-rise office buildings is 14' per story... so you're looking at 210 ft. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  2. That would actually void the enlistees contract... when you sign up as a senior, and you don't graduate, you don't ship... In my several years in recruiting I saw two non-grad slots (out of roughly 1,200 my Company was missioned for) for active duty... and they had to score above 50 on the ASVAB, and be willing to take the worst jobs (and no, thats not infantry or tank driver)... For the most part, Non-Grads only option was the NG, and even that was limited. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  3. So, was the use by Kerry/Edwards of of a line from a Cheney speech from the 2000 campaign on purpose, or just bad speech writing? Just curoius what others think... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  4. I only made a few jumps, but the pics are on my site... www.aerialfusion.com/Skyfest.html J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  5. If it were coming from Nancy, I'd say WOW... coming from Ron, Jr. I say who cares... Although he would like to think he is, Ron, Jr. is not the tourch barer /protector of Ronald Regan's political legacy (at least not to anyone who knows anything about Ron Sr.'s time as President) J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  6. By the title of the video, "CAS", which indicates Close Air Support, I would suspect that the target was identified on the ground, and the target was cleared by someone who had eyes on it... it shows a weapon being delivered as it was intended by the pilot... horros of war, sure... but that is war, and the video, out of context, does not compell me one way or another as to if this was a bad thing or good targeting. 7. No, what I said was an administration cannot impose a draft... it has to be done by a law, which you need the congress for. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  8. I fairly sure it will take a law to enact a draft in the first place... why pass a law to say that we won't pass another law unless there is a war, when that law could be repealed by another law? J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  9. Clear Channel plays it here... the DJ's joke about it when they play it... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  10. As the PA is used more and more, you will find more and more challenges to it in the Court... There are many parts of it that will not stand up to judicial scrutiny, IMO. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  11. Its played all the time down here in H-town... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  12. Almost anything is better than traffic in Houston Here are a few pics for comparrison... both birds are trying to be the next "Marine One" presidential transport. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  13. It was based on school dates, for the MOS enlisted for... 365 days was for HS seniors... I you enlisted in the begining of your senior school year, say in September, you may be able to get a September ship date the following year, again based on the MOS... If you enlisted as soon as you were eligable, 364 days from your graduation date, you shipped the day after your graduated... for Grads the system would only let you look 90 days out, beyond that you had to get an exception, and you had to have justification. 14. I would assume, based on the DS reference, the you enlisted in 1990 or so... 14 years ago... the onset of the "peace dividend"... when the forces were cut (by both the Bush (41) and Clinton administrations) too far, we had to play catch-up in the late 90's... HS Sr's shipped in June or July for the most part... September at the latest, and only for certain MOS's (that only had 2 or 3 class dates per year). If you had already graduated, and weren't in college you shipped in roughly 30 days. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  15. If this were Whoopi's stand up routine at the Laugh Stop, it would be a non issue, it wasn't... It was a fund raiser, and Kerry gave, at ther very least, his tacit approval by not objecting right then and there... It goes to his character, particularly when you add it to other statements that Kerry has made when he thought he was off tape... Dems are making issue of Bush's character all over the place... I don't blame the Dems for not releasing the tape... I is a good political move, why subject yourself to it... much like Bush not going to the NAACP, which I also think was a good move. 16. When I was a recruiter, grated it was a few years ago, getting a fall ship date for a HS student was the exception rather than the rule... and only happend with certain MOS's, based on school dates... If they did something that required an MOS change, some run in with the law being the most likey, a quick ship would make sense... the enlistment contract is fairly sacred on the Army's side, even if it's not on the DEP's... 17. Are they being called before their graduation? I doubt it... Even now, the Army does not want non-grads. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  18. That may be true, but they are not disapproving resignations when they come in... In fact my Honorable Discharge came in the mail the other day... took less than two weeks from when I sent my letter. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  19. Looks like the H-92 has a tailgate also... both aircraft look very similar. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  20. If Bush is smart it will be Rumsfeld or Ashcroft... IMO, they are his biggest liabilites right now. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  21. But what fraud is there? They shipped it to the address that was provided... Leave neutral feedback about the communication or lack there of. J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  22. the engines on the 737 are some of the closest to the ground of any comercial airliner... seems like it would not be very hard... J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  23. Spaceland's two otters have two very different Step and Handle set-ups... MF (the Blue and White one) has a big step, set low, and really big handle... SF (the all white one) has a small step, set fairly high on the side of the plane, and a small handle... Some setups are better for sharing than others, and no two are alike... if you have to share, figure out the game plan ahead of time, or you will end up fighting over the handle and with someone standing on your toes. 24. At least one was from the flight deck, wether it was the Captain or First Officer, I don't recall which... another was from a flight attendant. If the author's account was accurate, I think I would have been uncomfortable... I am certainly more aware of the people around me when on commercial airliners now, not just of people who look middle eastern, but of everyone... it is amazing how many people don't bother to turn off their cell phones, or other electronics when told to J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
  25. I've heard several announcements on recent flights about not congregating near the front lav... did you not get the memo? J All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke
