When there are senate candidates who don't believe in evolution because there are still apes around. When states are proposing the death penalty for women who get abortions. When towns are trying to ban hello and replace it with heaveno When states are banning teachers from discussing the existence of homosexuality When all that is going on, I am not sure a VP using simple language is really the most important issue to focus on.

Except they are not. They are taking those profits and distributing them or buying back stock. At least they have been until this point. I already pointed out the CoconoPhilips acquisition of the Permian Basin and their intention NOT to invest in increased production but increased distribution and stock buy backs.

This sentence doesn't make any sense. Actually the whole post is a little unhinged. The point is that investors/Wall Street have been punishing companies who are not distributing profits to shareholders or buying back stock. Hence that is what the big oil companies are doing, hoarding profit in stead of investing in drilling.

Great, than maybe it would have been built, however considering the current Keystone pipeline is not running at capacity it would not have meant anything material currently. You want more oil, maybe ask ConocoPhillips to drill more in the Permian Basin position they bought from Shell. In stead they have said they will not increase production but pay a special distribution to shareholders. They are sitting on an additional 20,000,000,000 barrels. If you want to look at reasons why production hasn't increased, I would suggest you don't only look at Pennsylvania Ave and also take a very hard look at Wall Street.

Sure there are. Air cover over Ukraine just isn't one of them. In the mean time many nations are working on providing lethal and non-lethal support to Ukraine. Of course Russia's foreign minister is now stating that providing weapons to Ukraine may also be seen as an escalation of war by those countries. I don't see a way for this conflict to remain within Ukraine without significant consequences. Hope I am wrong.

No. I said the Keystone XL decision wouldn't have made a difference with what is going on now. Keystone capacity is not at 100% and Keystone XL would not have been completed yet based on the last timeline. Personally I would have been in favour of building Keystone XL, your talking points just don't make sense.

Fully agree that we need to start manufacturing in North America again. I think the hardest part will be convincing people that a rise in costs will be worth it. This means growing the middle class, which has been steadily disappearing.

If what is the case? That there is an actual keystone pipeline? That isn't really up for debate, at least not among sane people. What happens when you find out Keystone XL wasn't even going to end in Texas?

The current Keystone pipeline delivers oil to Texas and is not running at full capacity.

Neither option would change that currently Keystone XL wouldn't be making much of a difference.
