  1. really, where did I say that? or is this another logical conclusion? I left JK a long time ago.
  2. Ahh yes another informed response.
  3. so, the other purpose is revenge. Now, what if technological advances prove that the person who was executed did not commit the murder? Say oops, sorry?
  4. Or it has been hidden well enough. Just one of many other possibilities. Ahh yes, another logical conclusion.
  5. Not what we were talking about.... You indicated that if some one did not get prosecuted for a crime, or if there was no proof, then the crime is not a big deal. I disagree with that statement of yours. You disagree with it when it comes to other crimes. Hence, you have somewhat of a double standard. Not sure where the whole execution and killing comes from. But then it would seem that americans are somewhat preoccupied with killing people.
  6. Yeah just look at all those companies Bush worked for........
  7. But what if you fail to act on your choice? Or you chose to walk, but stumble in stead? see, life really isn't that simple....
  8. and then I put that same line of thought to task with a murder and in that case you said a murder was a ig deal. So, once again, which one is it? The crime is eitehr a big deal, or it isn't. or in your case it would seem that it depends on the crime.
  9. That refers to the act, not the person. so, were you wrong the first time, or the subsequent opposite explanation?
  10. We in Canada do this sooooooo much better
  11. So does life in prison. So if that is the only purpose it serves, there is really no reason to keep it around.
  12. I think people like to distinguish themselves form the norm. They like to indicate they are different.
  13. yeah, it is obvious to me that if only more people in the crowd had guns this would have never happened. I wonder what the perp thought about the death penalty before he committed this crime. Wonder how he overcame that huge deterrent?
  14. What a crock o shit that is. So if some one got murdered, but nobody got charged since they can't find proof tying one person to the murder......it means the murder wasn't a big deal. I guess in your world breaking the law is only bad if you get caught.
  15. Some of it might be a cultural issue to. Growing up in Holland it was very common to see young children playing naked on the beach. It was especially uncommon to see young, young girls with a bikini top. To this day it amazes me when I go to a beach in North America and see all these 2 year old girls with bikini tops and bathing suits.
  16. I know what he meant by the statement. But taken literally he is blaming the rifle for the death. More precisely the length of the barrel. The reasoning is that if the barrel had one more inch the agents would not have been on him and his wife and son would still be alive. same reasoning as saying that gun homocide would not have taken place if the gun had not been available. usually the reply to that argument is: guns don't kill people, people kill people. sorry if you don't see the irony.
  17. Exactly, nothing like a good killing to make me feel good.
  18. together with those american companies who were on that list. However, your administration blacked out those names, so we don't really know who those companies are..... So let's say Haliburton is on that list, it would have been during Cheney's time there. Does that make him a spinless (sic) idiot too?
  19. I know. statements are very similar though. I am pretty sure those federal agents did not walk up to him and said, barrel is to short we will now execute your wife and child. I am sure it was his actions and the actions of the federal agents that led to the outcome. It is the pro-gun crowd that keeps yelling that it is not the object but the actions. Not the guns but the people..... hence, still an odd statement coming from some one so deep into the pro-gun issue.
  20. So, if a soldier refuses to follow an oder based on him/her claiming it is unlawful it ends up in front of a courtmartial. If the court decides it was lawful, the soldier immediately gets punished for not following the order? sounds like the system is certainly in favour of just blindly doing what you are told?
  21. It was me asking the question....and i have been slammed by better people
  22. Then what is this talk about the obligation not to follow an illegal order? I agree that this guy signed up and we should send him back and he should face his punishment. I am asking out of clarification for myself.
  23. That's kind of a funny statement coming from a guy who keeps screaming that guns don't kill people, people kill people.
