  1. It can be reversed. Yes, impossible.
  2. actually I didn't, but you can start here
  3. That is what I was trying to point out with the extreme examples. It all depends on the degree of differences. If I get fired because I choose to have neon green hair, I can accept that. If I get fired because I chose to dye my hair a natural blond, I would have an issue with that.
  4. Wasn't meant to sound humane If a person has no interaction with another human, it will be hard to commit murder. Good for you, I doubt it is true for every body.
  5. I am still waiting for those facts that support your opinion. I don't even care how old they are.
  6. Don't let him/her interact with other people. Good, but has no bearing on what I said. I refered to a feeling of revenge after the murderer was put to death. Not me going out and killing that person myself. You admit that the system is breaking down. You don't have a problem with possibly killing an innocent man or woman?
  7. yes Ok, insert your own favourite loved on. Now tell me you would not have an emotional reaction. So, to summarize, you would pick the certainty of death over the uncertainty of the judicial system?
  8. That doesn't answer the question. There is anotehr way of acheiving her never doing that again, without killing her. So, what added benefit has killing her? A son, or an emotional reaction to that situation?
  9. You my friend, are the one defending the position that it is cheaper to kill them. Where is your proof?
  10. Same with putting her away for life. Why kill her, what added benefit is there to killing her? If some one killed my son, I would have an emotional response to that yes. You scare me if you would not have an emotional response in that situation.
  11. and I think with that we agree with eachother based on principle.
  12. Normal natural hair colour. Let's say your employer decided to fire you since you did not have blond hair and blue eyes. You have the option of dying your hair blond and wearing blue contact lenses. Would you just shrug your shoulders and do it? Or if you refuse to, would you just let yourself get fired and not say anything about it?
  13. Good, then put words in your own mouth and respond to my answer of your question.
  14. actually, I publicly stated to know less than posters here....... I don't live a court room. When some one with a different opinion comes along about an issue that is important to me, I go out and do some more research. I don't say, I am right and until you prove otherwise you are wrong. If I have to provide facts regarding your own judicial process, then i would suggest going through high school again, or working towards making high school better, since it should have been covered during those years. In the spirit of your post: The opinion of the death penatly costing less was brought forward first, hence that opinion needs to be supported by facts first. If that is your opinion, I would suggest checking your facts.
  15. Well, it is your justice system, odd you would ask a simple Canadian for an explanation of it. The appeals process with the death penalty is significantly different from the appeals process after a life sentence without the posibility of parole.
  16. I don't see any added gratification in killing her. I would feel gratification that she got caught, that the justice system worked and that she will spend the rest of her life in jail. Which I am sure her fellow inmates will not make the most pleasant of environments. I don't get any further gratification from another person being killed. There will always be circumstances that I can think of that would trigger an emotional response from me along the lines of kill the fucker. When I think about those outbursts though is that it comes down to getting satisfaction out of a killing. Which makes me shutter, because it makes me no better than Karla Faye.
  17. I am sure you can find the studies if you really want to learn.
  18. Then I am assuming he would have no problem with a skydiver not being allowed to fly on a commercial airline. Or people with an IQ below 100 being put in camps, kept away from the regular population so that there were no stupid people around? Or a company not hiring black people because it doesn't fit with the marketing vision of the product? I could go on and on and on? The difference is whether or not it is effectively communicated. I have no problem with a company stating that they refuse to hire black people, because they would have to deal with the consequences. I do have a problem with not openly stating those rules, yet privately adhering to them.
  19. I think you'll find that many criminals who agree that they committed the crime feel they were justified to committ the crime for reasons that make sense to them. Hence, they don't feel that the punishment is justified. I would assume that if I ever committed a heinous crime it is because I felt justified committing the crime. Based on that I would certainly aim to not get the death penalty and not just sit back and accept the crime.
  20. and what if you are kept from holding any job, living in a house, dricing a car or riding on public transportation because you have a certain hair colour? You would still just shrugg your shoulders and say ohh well, my fault?
  21. To me an informed response would take into account that it costs even more to maintain the death penalty.
  22. Well, since taxes seems to be the only thing you are concerned about in this matter, it would be easiest to just kill everybody except yourself, that way there would be no need for taxes. In a less simplified world, it would be more beneficial to put them in jail for life, since that would actually cost you less tax money? If you think that they should be executed within the hour of their first conviciton, then I would question your thoughts on an effective and just system.
  23. fair enough, I answered your question. will you answer my question?
  24. well, let's see. I like to dress in a way that makes me stand out from the others in my corporate environment. I spike my hair and have highlights in them, something that certainly sets me apart in this bastion of the old boys club. If they treat me differently because of that, I would be slightly pissed and prob bitch about it too.
  25. I don't, plus I know I don't know more than everyone else? Interesting reply though, did you think it was a very informed response?
