Why I don't believe in Gun Control.....
SkyDekker replied to markd_nscr986's topic in Speakers Corner
So, do laws against killing work? There seem to be many people in jail for murder...guess those laws don't stop anybody from killing some one. Guess we better get rid of those laws, since they are not working. -
What cracks me up is the avid pro-gun crowd on here, the ones usually proclaiming in all their bravado they will shoot any government agent who tries to take something from them. The ones who claim they need guns to protect themselves and their property, the ones that shout the loudest that they are free and will do whatever the hell they want. They are the ones now shouting the loudest that these people should have left everything they ever owned behind and just start walking. People with elderly, with young children. People who had nowhere to go...NOWHERE....the poorest of the poor. I wonder if those raped at the superdome wished they had stayed home in stead..... So, should these people just have started walking? Where do you think they should have walked to?

Interesting article about the La. governor / Mayor Nagin

funny, but when some one brings up something against your leader, then you need proof prior to believing anything. In this case you believe whatever you read, since it speaks well of your great leader, until it is proven wrong... -
A Hurricane Exposes the Man-Made Disaster of the Welfare State

That is all nice and well if the scenario could not be foreseen. But the levees breaking and most of NO being submerged is not that unlikely that it should not have been planned for. -

fine, so if you remain on private property you can own a gun...as soon as you want to take it off private property...you need to register the gun, get a license and be insured... how is that? I wouldn't have any problem with that at all....I think many in the pro-gun crowd would though.... -

yup, that is why you need a license and insurance to buy one legally. Want to do the same for guns? -
ahhh good, he did give himself some one to blame....

I wonder why he came back from vacation? People here kept telling me that he could work just as well from his vacation residence as he could from the White House. The best part was him saying that the relief efforts were not acceptable. I guess he forgot FEMA reports directly to him..... I don't think Bush is directly to blame for any of this though. Situations like this show who the great or even good leaders are (think of Giuliani for instance). I think it is pretty clear that Bush, based on his performance in the last week or so, does not fit in either category.

$300,000 to each Jewish Settler removed from Gaza.
SkyDekker replied to rhino's topic in Speakers Corner
Please explain that sentence, for now it reads like "google my response". Because you use common sense and you think I am a lefty it must be your English skills? -

Obviously your grammar and english skills aren't that great either... In order to "google my responses", I would have to formulate my response, enter it into google, and see what the search engine comes up with. His sentence (and this is most certainly not the first time) makes absolutely no sense. Maybe google can try and direct him to English classes in his neighbourhood. -

Canadian National Exhibition is on Glass floor on the CN tower China Town Toronto Zoo Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) Scarborough Town Centre (just so you can say you have seen my mall) -All dropzones are at least 1 hour by car

it is...I agree, but I would think it is a disgrace that 99% of your population isn't interested enough to go beyond the front page of the papers to find out the rest of the names.....

This sentence makes no sense, maybe you will see that when a different subject is put in its place: Adns ince no law ever passed has ever accomplished the goal of preventing criminals from speeding, then there should none passed which prevent the law-abiding citizens from speeding.

You should try it, maybe you will start making more sense. -
The Netherlands is another country that used to and still does that. Indonesia - used to Dutch Antills - still do

correct, since I don't hate America (how can one hate an institution or a country?) there is no limit to it either....
-
LOL true, though I think these debates centre around many non-americans not understanding why you would want to have all these guns around and Americans not understanding why people would NOT want to have guns around. The discussion is far more interesting when it is about what happens within one country. If brittain upholds their gun laws, and these events are not allowed, then the US is more than welcome to withdraw their total Olympic team in protest.

But, who decides a fact is a fact and cannot be in question?
