Absolutely. American society is fine with that price, most other Western civilizations are not. I would not be suprised if Zimmerman felt more powerful with a gun, which influenced his course of action.

People would still get the treatment, but would end up not paying their bills, which would drive up costs for those who are paying. Which brings us back to the situation you are in now.... -

Wouldn't solve anything. Car insurance doesn't cover gross negligence. If health insurance would go the same route: No coverage for those overweight or obese. No coverage if you drink more than maybe one drink average per day. No coverage if you do not exercise on a relatively frequent basis. No coverage if you live or work in high risk areas. Smoke? Sorry, no coverage Forcing a high deductable on people. That doesn't solve anything either, since many people would not be able to cover the costs under the deductable limit. -
This is a prime case showing the price society pays for the 2nd Amendment. Some will say it is worth it, some will say it isn't, but that is exactly what it is.

That 2nd Amendment can be pretty pricey. Does Barney Fife follow this kid if he doesn't have a gun in his pocket? Would he go looking for a confrontation without the gun? Probably not. But that is the price you pay as a society.

Without further facts, that would be a racist statement. You would have to look at incident and conviction rates before you could get even close to making such a statement. You would have to equalize for social and economic status etc. Dismissing all that by just claiming that blacks are more violent because they make up a disproportionate block in the prion population would indeed be racist.

The difference is pretty large. Santorum has publicly alligned himself with a fair number of the ideas put forward by this preacher. Obama had not done such a thing, yet his presence was used to show a supposed hidden agenda.

Actually, Costa Rica has universal health care. They abolished their military to pay for that and education. -

You mean like enforcing car seat laws better and increasing fines for non-compliance. That option wasn't given by one of our resident gun-nuts above. But why have any laws, according to the 2nd Amendment it really should be an unrestricted right. Nobody is willing to have that discussion though. At least not on here.

Since it isn't zero, the laws are clearly not working and should therefor be taken off the books. Even with mandatory education, doctors still make mistakes. Lets do away with mandatory training.

Charge him an arm, a leg and his first born to do as many tests and procedures as possible to maximize earnings.* *Makes you think: a. This bozo has no idea what he is doing. b. This bozo has a Ferrari payment due. Just pure capitalism. Don't like it, find yourself another doctor. Governemnt should get their nose out of healthcare. It would be so much cheaper if it wasn't so regulated. Who needs a licensed and trained professional anyways? It's not like it is brain surgery...uhmm...rocket science.

No. The Greek situation comes down to expenses being bigger than revenues and debt service no longer possible. What the money is being spent on is really not that relevant.
