  1. Apparantly you are. I like how you keep digging too. Anyways, the Mexican Constitution as amended and redraughted over time tends to trump the signs you see at the US border. (those signs probably more there to warn you not to bring your guns over the border, since that would be illegal unless following the proper procedures)
  2. I know I would have taught that. Eventually they go their own way. Just hope the foundation provided is strong enough at that point. But it certainly isn't only upbringing that affects the road they chose to walk down.
  3. I think it is a combination of multiple issues, such as but not limited to: Mental health stigma and lack of adequate funding. Easy of availability of guns Easy of availability of ammunition Decline of middle class Widening between poor and rich acceptance of violence I think excluding one completely while trying to pin it all on something else is shortsighted and probably indicative of "an agenda". (education is probably an issue too. That way we don't get people saying: guns are illegal in Mexico)
  4. Family and friends are mourning their loss. They probably don't see them as you do, defined by their last stupid act. As a parent I could not imagine the anguish I would feel in their shoes.
  5. He has been fired and charged with a felony.
  6. At least this time the cop got charged and terminated from employment.
  7. Wow, what a clever way to call Kallend gay and get a dig in.
  8. Who said " mass quantities "? Are you suggesting that police ruin people's lives in mass quantities? What number are you thinking of that would be a mass quantity in this case? Nice duck. How are teachers and professors ruining lives?
  9. Idiotic logic. No, that isn't the solution. There is no quick solution for the US. There are just too many guns already in circulation. Your Founding Fathers unintentionally laid the groundwork for a very violent society. Any possible solution has an extremely long time frame before it would be effective...along the line of generations. Simply not going to happen. So, just learn to live with the incredibly high murder and gun death rate. It is simply the price you as a society has to pay. Firearms are illegal in Mexico. It seems to work down there, so why shouldn't it work up here? How about we look at a society much more similar to the US? Canada. (never mind that keeping firearms is not illegal in Mexico and actually a constitutionally protected right) Mexico is a prime example as to why I think there really is no solution for the gun problem in the US. They started with a constitutional right to keep and bear arms. They have since been trying to change that through amended consitution and further restrictive laws. If you want to compare yourself to Mexico, you are seeing what is likely for the future of the US. Unfortunate side effect to freedom really.
  10. I'm sorry are you adjusting a data point?
  11. Yeah? How do you figure that? How have teachers and professors ruined people's lives in these mass quantities?
  12. We have what is called "the sunshine list" in Toronto. Lists every public employee who made more than $100,000. Stupid money for a constable.
  13. The fact it even has to get stated is telling. I don't respect women any more or less than I respect men. Every person starts at the same level with me, then we go from there.

  15. Yes Once someone figures out there is something more or bigger than themselves, they are headed in the right direction That's right!! Only good can come from believing in a higher power like Allah!!! Atta boy guess you like the war on women Hey, you are the one who likes the higher power!
  16. Last year we had three parking enforcement officers and one police cadet in training make more than $100,000 a year. More than 40% of the entire police force, including civilian members, make more than $100,000 a year. Insane. Also makes it clear why the boys in blue like to protect eachother so much.
  17. Within roughly 4 years a Toronto cop makes a base salary of over $90,000 a year, with full benefits and a full indexed pension. Couple of paid duty shifts and some overtime and a police constable is making north of $100,000 a year.
  18. Cops don't like less court time. They wan't more court time. Easy money for them.
  19. There are lots of cops who have ruined lives without killing people.
  20. Like the Bell, FL shooter. Who was not allowed to have a gun because he as a convicted felon. Yet he got one. There was a law. Probably several. And it didn't matter. Maybe if there were a few hundred more laws that made his possession illegal it would have served as a deterrent. It would have made it double secret illegal for him to shoot his family members. Fella was nice enough to call the police, though, which is the only appropriate response to a crime. Yup. The easy availability of guns is the problem. Edited to add: And the easy availability of ammunition.
  21. I think MIke is only really concerned about the cost. Have to make sure there is enough money to keep the salaries in the astronomical range. A cop in Ontario makes an insane amount of money.

  23. No it isn't the same. These changes Buffet talks about only work if they are mandated. Just him doing it by himself doesn't serve the purpose at all. Warren Buffet donating all is wealth to the IRS would not solve the issues his proposed policy changes could make. So no, it isn't the same at all. That sentence simply doesn't make any sense. It is a great soundbite. Will froth the mouth of many while they curse socialism and/or communism. But, the sentene still doesn't make sense. Right. But we can't change policy that affects the richest of the rich. We can't tax the middle class more, cause there is very little middle class left. No sense taxing the poor, hard to squeeze blood from a stone. Awesome!!!!! And during that time the gap between rich and poor widened even further and the middle class continued to shrink. Sounds like it really helped!
  24. I read on a website that Obama only attached ISIS last night so he can divert attention away from the investigation. Since he attacked ISIS he must know he did something wrong in Benghazi!!
  25. But taxing the highest wealth earners a little more to try and manage that gap is a bad thing right? Warren Buffet has been very outspoken on this issue. Yet he usually gets ridiculed for it. Ususally by people with your political leaning. (And no I am not saying Liberals have the right ideas)
