This is the same issue as the Houston flooding. The desire to have no to minimum regulation and have costs as low as possible. Great when everything works well, but also means no money is being spent on dealing with potential problems outside of immediate control. Then when it happens, they rely on government funding to bail them out. They are identical to the welfare people they despise. Unwilling to work towards getting better, unwilling to contribute, but rely on the government when it matters. The ultimate takers.

You don't come across as very blissful, so clearly it isn't.

Is that a problem with wind or a problem with Texas? Seems like wind turbines are able to operate in cold climates in other parts of the world? Same as natural gas works pretty well in cold climates, if properly prepared. Texas decided not to learn any lessons from 2011 and prior incidences of cold weather impacting the power grid, resulting in history repeating itself. Looks like the issue isn't how the power is generated, but to what standard the network is maintained. You want all the cheapness, but then whine when it turns out cheapness has a price.

Have a feeling not many of those recommendations have been implemented.

Celebrating gay people dying of aids is not holding up a mirror. If you think all Rush Limbaugh did was hold up a mirror, that says more about you than anything else.

Do you need a safe space?

Rush's "Aids Update" history alone is enough reason to not be overly sad with his passing. But I understand that behaviour like that is something to be celebrated for you.

From what I have read and found, covid related restrictions in Canada are increasing mental health concerns and complaints among school aged children. Preliminary suicide statistics for 2020 in Canada are showing a decline from 2019. All in all, likely too early to make definitive statements on the impact of covid related restrictions. Of course, without covid restrictions children could easily infect elderly family members causing their death. That too would have an impact on mental health.

Nobody needs facts when the New York Post of all publications has already done the thinking for you!

Florida 1,350 deaths per 1,000,000 California 1,200 deaths per 1,000,000 No wonder Brent thinks this is a clear win for Florida.

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998

Interesting, the article says there isn't enough data and specifically long term data to make a determination in their opinions. They state that these short-term observations shouldn't be relied upon. You post that right after claiming how the current cold-snap is proof global warming doesn't exist. -

Wonder what could disrupt the polar vortex like that? -

So you are saying a bunch of snowflakes is shutting down Texas? -
This! It took me quite some time to realize that many opportunities afforded to me were really not available to everybody.

Lot's of good examples already shared. The biggest thing you can do in my opinion is being aware of it, try to recognize it and and try and support change.
-
Very upset you didn't thank God first. Religious privilege reigns supreme!!

I have not said the military is not addressing these issues. Actually the links I have posted indicate the steps the military is taking. It also shows clearly that the military is aware that this is a problem to begin with. Recognizing an issue exists is the first step in any solution.

Have you been to Toronto? You may find it is a bit different from Winnipeg, Vancouver and Montreal. Why does multicultural remind you of Bangkok, Buenos Aires, and Jakarta? None of those cities struck me as very multicultural. Singapore, San Francisco, Sydney, even Paris much more so. Even Vancouver isn't multicultural in my opinion, with 3 predominant cultures. BBC has a decent piece on Toronto being the most multicultural city in the world. You can listen to it here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p03v1r1p

That still doesn't address the fact that visible minorities are statistically underrepresented in leadership positions in the armed forces. I reject the idea that it is due to minorities giving up easily and crying racism as you are implying here.

Nor do you about me. Feel free to look back what comment you made to start us down this road.

And the demand was?
-
That is only because old white men like you try to maintain white privilege doesn't exist. Or should I say Mexican privilege for somebody as multicultural like you?
-
And if you want to think an area that is dominated by two cultures is a prime example of multiculturalism, go right ahead.

not surprising you would leave out: "many, especially variegated." Plus, multicultural actually has its own definition: mul·ti·cul·tur·al /ˌməltēˈkəlCH(ə)rəl,ˌməltīˈkəlCH(ə)rəl/ Learn to pronounce adjective adjective: multicultural; adjective: multi-cultural relating to or constituting several cultural or ethnic groups within a society. "multicultural education"
