Why Skydive City(Z-Hills) is better than Skydive Deland
MarkM replied to stitch's topic in The Bonfire
Nope, but if you're gonna be there in early April I have a tent you can share. I toss and turn a lot though -
That's a nice looking S6. Though if you look in the legwing extension photos you can see the guy in the PHI is literally flying circles around the S6. This is likely due to the added agility the PHI user gains from the scallops in the wings on that model of suit.

Well, you all know Medusa got a new S6 recently. Apparently the instructions that come with the S6 are in english only, so he had some problems figuring out how he was supposed to put the suit on. By all reports the jump went well even with the suit on backwards and by the end of the day he had figured out how to properly wear it. Matt has some nice air shots and probably some better quality ground ones.

Forget those other places, Lake Wales is Where It's At :o)

Ahh, you're just jealous because you're not in Florida. I'm sure you'll remind me of that this summer when I'm sitting in a metal plane in 90 degree heat with 95% humidity. -

Home of the Z-Flock. You can do laundry on site. -
Any chance your rig can fit a 150?

Fear is such a powerful emotion and it's probably the number one thing that holds people back in life. All skydivers had to learn to manage fear to get through their jumps, so you're experiencing pretty much what everyone felt as a student. But the cool thing about it, is when you learn to manage your fear in skydiving you can apply the same principles to manage it in other areas of your life.

I just like that they're making plastic products from corn instead of petrolium.

Since Walt's post seemed to be the only one with constructive criticism... I'm thinking this type of film is going to have 2 markets with completely different expectations: skydivers and whuffos. The whuffos aren't going to understand, get, or really be interested in the skydiving aspects of a film outside of what they can relate to. Maybe a tandem a scene, or maybe some cheesy skydiving stuff. But if you go into a skydiving scene that would impress a skydiver, it'll probably be lost on a whuffo. You want novelty for this market. The only reason anyone is going to pick Skydiving Sex Adventuers over Teen Anal #187 is for the novelty of it. You don't need any sort of realism for that. And for the skydivers, you're never gonna satisfy them unless you spend 2 years shooting tons of footage and only pick the best 20 minutes of it. But you might grab the skydivers with novelty, the novelty of mixing porn and skydiving. Crap like, having Bill Booth doing the tandem warning video, only about some "experimental" sex device would be a riot and skydivers would buy it for that alone. If you could get some well known names to do comedic non-sex scene cameos, skydivers would buy it because xxx was in "that skydiving porno".

727 downloads so far that is roughly 44 Gigabytes of data transferred on my network from a free service. This one video is averaging about 10mbps of traffic, that is $1k worth of bandwidth. Thanks. At least you can do is push the donate button. Why didn't you host this on http://www.nicolesheridan.com/? Give this about 20 mins to finish uploading and people in this thread can download from here: http://www.tarsis.org/OHC_Documentary.wmv I've got about 3/4th a tera to spare for this month yet and it should be a faster download.

That's because Ducati's are so friggen expensive to keep running, hardly anyone owns one so there's no point in making fun of them

That looks sweet dude. Too bad the father is so ugly. Hopefully the kid will take after its mother.

The one in Lake Wales is pretty nice. It's about a mile from the DZ too. If you go to http://maps.google.com/ and select Find a Business near the Search button, you can put in Super 8 in the 1st box and Lakes Wales, FL in the second one. That'll give you a map with the Super 8's shown on them.

Is it? Apparently it isn't.

Nice bike, too bad it's a Harley.

Best Skydiving Movie EVER (Chris Cowden)
MarkM replied to Floats18's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Or you could: A> Put them out 1st with an early spot. B> Have the DZO give them a little talk about speeding up their exits if they want to continue to jump there. . -

Hot Roommate Needs to Jump and Hookup--Can You Help?
MarkM replied to jumpnaked69's topic in Events & Places to Jump
And they all just want to hook up and have wild, meaningless sex! Yeah, it gets kind of old getting hit on by sex crazed chicks at the DZ all the time. Can't they understand that most of us guys are just there to jump??? -
I work Saturdays. I'm off in 10 mins though and tomorrow is the start of my weekend.

I was a student for 2 SL FJC's and 3 AFF ones. My comment was that in the static line FJC's there was a lot more time spent on PLFs than my AFF courses. I was supposing that that was due to my SL FJC's having less to deal with, training-wise. But who knows, maybe it was because the canopies where I did my SL jumps were old worn out Mantas and Falcons and my instructors knew I'd be pounding it into the ground no matter how much I flared.
-
Who said anything about uninformed? 6 hours of canopy instruction is better than 2, but you can't do that in a FJC. 6 hours of covering mals would be better than 2, but again you can't do that. How many hours long are your first jump courses? Now don't tell me if you didn't double it, you wouldn't have better trained students.
