Welcome to the club. When living in San Antonio, I had one of those little fuckers get me in the forearm, then the hand when I was lying in bed. Little bastards are quick. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

I have the retail therapy bug right now at work and want to buy new risers for my Javelin J-1 but not sure the size of them, and after searching the forums I'm to believe the average stock size of risers are 21-22 inches. Is this true? Am I ok with ordering 21-22 inch risers and not affect performance? Also, any recommendations on which risers are most sought after now (velcroless of course) ? thanks in advance, Billy SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

Best single-engined jump plane?
woodpecker replied to riggerrob's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I vote the Antonov.... Simply because every time I've ever jumped it I felt like a part of history. Takes forever to get to alti but what an experience. Anything else I vote the 208. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on? -

Info please.... Last year I recieved and email about free jumping in NC for military members (and that permissive TDY was even a possibility). Any info would be greatly appreciated. v/r Billy SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

I have both...a pilot 150 and hornet 150. Love them both and never had a slammer on either. Not the exact same canopy, but defin. close. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

Problem I'm having is....whats a good program to use for this. I have Roxio, but it says the PAL formatted disks wont add the music if I burn the disk. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. v/r Billy SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

I like it. Of course, are we actually considered cargo? We could be passengers as well. Technically, we have paid to get from point A) ground to point B) alititude. Thou jettisonable passenger just doesnt sound good. I can see the headlines now: JETTISONABLE CARGO BURNED IT AT XXXX DROPZONE when..... Just a little food for thought, so take off the sleep goggles and lets crack this thing. I'm off to the DZ in 2.5 hours. We are still calling leaving the aircraft "JUMPING" right? and what is it called if we are rear float and actually just letting go of the airframe? After reading posts on sit flying/head up flying/butt down flying...falling/flying....etc. Just want to make sure that I'm still using the correct terminology. I would hate to be "that guy" when I get to the DZ today. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?

The hair in the vid just made it that much better. Gave it that dirty home made porn feel. Along with Andy, this too was my first 3 way (or first 2 three ways) and what a blast. Being it was the first time the three of us have ever jumped together, it went a lot better than I thought it would. And it was fun so who really cares. As far as the long time in the door. We owned the plane at that point so took our time. Why rush out the door when I paid for the ride up anyway. Just getting our moneys worth. To all the experienced RW flyers...please give us some pointers, tips, advice, etc. We are going to be working on this for a while (cuz its fun) so anything you give us will be well appreciated. I jump a pilot 150 (1:1 WL) and absolutely love it. Openings are awsome, recovery arc is awsome, as bonnie said it does cover a lot of ground so it takes a few jumps to get your landings (area) dialed in..but awsome. Are we seeing a pattern here? As for foward speed...its not terribly quick but you can slide out a landing if you want (no risers). I jumped saturday and did a simple approach, flared and surfed (if you want to actually call it that) about 4 feet. Fun as hell too. Only thing I hate about my pilot is YES...its slicker than snot and a bitch to pack. Not impossible, just takes a little practice. Hope this helps. Woot! What a blast and congrats on your first two vids tony. Thanks you two again for the invite....AWSOME. Oh and andy, it might work better if you stop using that tandem rig....I think its the drogue thats messing you up. Great time had by all and sorry for bullying you out of the airspace.... See you (tony) after holiday, and you (andy) next week. Nice post and thanks again. SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on? -

pilot 150--do they always open so sloooowwww
woodpecker replied to woodpecker's topic in Gear and Rigging
It actually might have been less. I pitched...watched canopy inflate....then looked at my alti, so I'm sure I added a few feet in the time it took to look at my alti. But not much I'm sure. I'll pay a lot more attention to pitch alti/ and full inflation and report back. Billy SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on?
