So basically Cheney's warning Musharraf that Pakistan's sugar daddy is broke and the US is going to expect their money to go towards fighting terrorists rather than housing them. What a radical idea. You know, we could still send $billions in aid to state sponsors of terrorism if we hadn't blown our wad attacking a country that wasn't one. I mean, if we can't cultivate a future adversary who are we going to be at war with ten years from now?

What if those four are the Governors of four west coast states

That's the lead to the story. "So and so was in Afghanistan today after his stops in Pakistan and Australia blah blah blah meeting with blah blah about blah blah. Film at 11:00". Why do you think Bush flies all over the country pushing his campaign donor payback proposals? "Free" publicity. No one's going to write an article about someone making a phone call.

Hard to say. Which method is likely to do a better job of getting his message out via the national media, a teleconference or a personal visit?

Lieberman Warns Democrats: I May Join GOP
idrankwhat replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Does that mean to dig up? Or to fasten ribbons to? or to coat with dog food? I always forget. either way, I am not confortable with any of those Sorry if I strayed from the idiom. That's just some purty talk that I probably picked up from Blazing Saddles. -

My sincerest apologies sir. I erroneously allowed myself to drift from the levity for a moment thinking, much to my embarrassment, that you had succumbed to a notion of genuine forthrightness. Clearly, the culpability is mine alone and I would be most humbled if you were to find it within yourself to exculpate this offender. -
Lieberman Warns Democrats: I May Join GOP

If I think about it, he could probably be more effective and could lead both parties simultaneously. He'd definitely have more intelligent things to say than any of them. Maybe so, provided that he stay away from commenting on the Iraq war or our national security. He clearly is not concerned with our best interests in that arena. -

How is that? Joe Leiberman shaved his head and wants to bury it in rehab in the Bahamas? Hey now, a headless Lieberman? Now THAT would probably keep him in the headlines for a while. He's not attractive enough otherwise. But if you think about it, even without his head he'd probably just as effective a legislator as the rest of the bunch. -

Originally I couldn't quite figure out why he was always so pro-Iraq war....then it hit me. Duh. Someone needs to remind him that he swore to uphold the Constitution of the UNITED STATES when it came to the use of its military. Who's security is he more concerned with? Maybe if he jumps ship the debate will follow with him, but I doubt it, especially if Anna Nicole Smith is still above ground. -
It is what this thread was about and you sure seem to have an opinion. If you think that's what this thread is about then that explains a lot. The thread was about baseless attacks, which explains why you and I have exchanged so many posts. Double standards must be a hobby of yours. Yep, I hate 'em and I call 'em when I see 'em.

And once again, I'll call. Where did I say that? Keep digging indeed. I'll let this die but not until you quit putting words in my mouth.

The easiest method for me is to use the runway and know its length. If it's 4000 ft, just divide the runway into half twice and mentally shift that selected piece of real estate to underneath the plane. I do it on the ground and using a picture of the dz before I go up.

Let me fix this for you. You're right Kallend, this IS fun.

US air strike kills three insurgents in Iraq

That would be a helicopter then It's entirely possible that the military has decided to use the V22 Osprey as an offensive weapon by crashing them on their adversaries. -

John I wonder where the AAA gun came from? Don't know. Could have been through Iran, Syria, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, maybe even Turkey. Maybe it was something constructed with the 380 tons of high explosives that the US decided didn't need to be guarded in Al Qaqaa. Who knows? But I'll bet you anything you want that we wouldn't have lost those helicopters in Iraq if we had never left Afghanistan for this war of choice. -
No, I do think it's relevant. But I also think it doesn't even get off the baseline when you graph it next to the Billions in other waste. For one, I think $1.71 Billion per day in interest on the debt is more significant. edited to add: Or, the ~$70 million per day in Iraq.

By being hypocritical and making attacks. Bucking for a gig at the Washington Times? You've got the right wing media style down to perfection. Just keep saying it, regardless of validity, and hopefully it will stick. I guess this thread has come full circle now. But go ahead and get in the last word. Then you can interpret my non-response to mean anything you want And don't forget to throw in a reference to Clinton.

You mean like when you claim to hate waste but not on this topic but try to make me look stupid for not liking this watse either while you accept it? You mean that kind of waste, double standard and character attack? I'm not trying to make you look stupid. I'm accusing you of being hypocritical in your attacks on myself and Kallend.

I responded to a question from you. Yes, you did indeed respond. I answered your question, No, you didn't. Your answer was only slightly more specific than "on dropzone.com". I hate double standards and I hate government waste and if you read my posts you'll see that. I do however, have a tendency to point out severe examples of government waste as opposed to the nickel and dime crap that was brought up here simply for partisan button pushing. You accused others of being blind to "their" party's waste while you, yourself are guilty of doing that very thing as your primary contribution to this thread. You want to call me out for being hypocritical? Then do it, but be specific. I'm not sure which I hate more, government waste, double standards or baseless character attacks.

Iraq PM tells Bush of 'dazzling successes' in Baghdad
idrankwhat replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
C'mon Bill. Don't be so negative. I mean it's not like they died. Why wasn't the article about the store being open and how receptive the locals are to foreigners? -
I guess I hadn't thought about the potential. I'm not sure about how it's done elsewhere but at our DZ we have wide, soft pouches attached to the helmet to hold the radio. It's a very flush fit with no real snag potential. I suppose that if you were to use a hard mount that it might present a problem. Anyone ever heard of an entanglement?

Iraq PM tells Bush of 'dazzling successes' in Baghdad
idrankwhat replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Appropriate strategies to fight terrorism were offered, but the PNAC and their puppet President felt it was necessary to ignore that good advice and create misinformation to get us into war. And somehow, the anti-Iraq war people are to blame because Bush didn't listen and are having a hard time figuring out how to clean up the mess he got us into. I'm having a hard time figuring out how it's our fault. -
This thread shows it quite well. I can't believe that you revived this thread so you could do nothing more than fail to answer a direct question.

Iraq PM tells Bush of 'dazzling successes' in Baghdad

Consistent. You sure the hell are Ok smart guy, so which part do you think that us failure fans like best? $2 billion of our dollars per week being spent? Thousands of our soldiers dead or being rehabilitated? Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead? Overextended military? Strengthening al Qaeda? Fewer allies? No end in sight? Oooo yea, let's keep it up and fuck over ourselves and the rest of the world so that we can shift the legislative branch of the Demoblican party a slight bit to the left. Give me a break. -
