    There was an An-2 based at my DZ for a number of years. When it first arrived, the local FAA told the owner, no jumping from that aircraft. Pinocchio told me that no one ever jumped out of that airplane here.

    Yes, New York State has an 8% tax on automotive and aviation 100LL. If you are using it off road, for example farming, mowing, etc and aviation, you can file and get the tax refunded. If you are using a lot of gas, it is worth it but using your garden tractor, chainsaw, etc, flying cross country and stopping in New York to fill your plane, not really worth it so New York keeps your money. I buy off road diesel for my mower and there is no state highway use tax but there is federal highway tax. I file to get a refund on that. If you burned Jet A in your diesel mower, you could get a tax refund also.

    I used to buy Jet A and 100LL in bulk from a supplier for my DZ. All the taxes were included in the price that I paid including state and local sales tax. I didn't sell any of the fuel but if I was in the retail business selling fuel, I wouldn't have had to pay the sales tax when I bought it but would have to charge sales tax on the selling price then pay that to the state. At the end of the year, I filed to get a refund on the state highway tax.

    I believe that the tax increase would be on all jet fuel including jump planes.

    I can't help but think that whoever is elected, they won't finish their 4 year term for one reason or another.

    President Biden gives the State of the Union address tonight. His recent public appearances haven't painted the best picture of him. We will see how he does tonight. "Three-quarters of voters, including half of Democrats, say they have concerns about President Joe Biden’s mental and physical health, according to the latest national NBC News poll." With people concerned about his age now, what will they think in 11 months at the inauguration if he is elected, in 2, 3, 4 years. I am not a Trump fan either but it is looks like these will be our choices.

    A friend and I were just talking about Gift of Wings Skydiving Center. We were trying to find it on google earth. If you look to the right of the dirt pile, you can barely see the outline of the former east west runway. If you look just right of center between the old runway and the dirt drive, you can see where the old pea gravel target was. Their clubhouse was a modular building which is no longer there. I jumped there a few times in the late 70's. 6 miles down the road was Wyoming County Parachute Club. I jumper there a few times also. My home DZ was Seneca Sport Parachute Club located at the Seneca Falls Airport.

    I am surrounded by Amish. They manufacture their own horsepower and there is an Amish buggy shop one mile from me. The buggies have torsion bar suspension, fiberglass wheels, hydraulic disc brakes, head lights, tail lights, turn signals and rear view mirrors. Some of them have heaters.

    There are federal and state highway taxes on gasoline and diesel. The electric vehicles are using the highways but not currently paying the tax. At some point in the future, the federal and state government will implement some sort of tax or fee for electric vehicles.

    Nobody needs as much money as some pf these players get. Some of them have big egos and money is just a score card to them. I am better than so and so so I should get more money.
