These videos may have already been posted. I thought they were interesting. About 20 - 25 minutes long each.

"Washington — The Senate voted to move forward with former President Donald Trump's impeachment trial on Tuesday, with a majority of senators determining they have jurisdiction to place former presidents on trial in cases of impeachment. By a vote of 56 to 44, the Senate rejected arguments by Mr. Trump's attorneys, who asserted that holding an impeachment trial of a former president is unconstitutional." If Republicans held the majority in the Senate it is likely they would have voted that impeachment trial of a former president is unconstitutional. I think that is a decision that should be decided by the Supreme Court.

I thought Tampa Bay would have a tough time with Kansas City and don't think I was the only one. Everything was fine until kick-off then TB basically handed KC their lunch.

The first thing that came into my mind when I read this was JFK.

I don't think Trump should have been impeached a second time and not because he doesn't deserve it. He is now out of office so the reason to impeach him in that regard is moot. There is a chance that there will not be enough votes in the Senate to convict him. Trump loves attention and the impeachment will help keep him in the news. He still has a lot of supporters that may not react well. If he is not convicted, it is just like him to take advantage of that and boast " they impeached me twice and couldn't convict me so I did nothing wrong. If they take the steps to prevent him from running for president again, that looks to me that they are afraid he may run and possibly get elected. Just let him play golf in Florida, eat his big Mac's, keep him out of the news and keep your fingers crossed that he fades away.

I sold my DZ 5 years ago and the cost of my jumps went down to $25 a jump.

Joe Biden could declare that he is transgender then we would have the first woman as a president and since "she" is married to Jill Biden, we would also have the first gay president. And while I am at it, what about the east German women in the Olympics in the 60's and 70's. Were they men, women, cheating or was transgender way ahead of it's time in east Germany.

New York State had been allotted 300,000 doses of vaccine per week. There are 3.2 million people eligible now. That is a little over 10 weeks to vaccinate them, the Governor said up to 14 weeks. I saw on the news Monday night that the Governor wrote a letter to Pfizer (a New York corporation) asking to buy the vaccine directly from them and not wait for the Government to distribute it. I hope that happens, I have a reservation for April 6 but I don't want have to wait that long.
-
Good for you, another case of right place, right time. I am now on a call list when more vaccines become available in my area.

Now I need to go look at a road kill to get that image out of my mind.

December 17 is the 117th anniversary of the first airplane flight. It is also the 85th anniversary of the first flight of the DC3. I have jumped from a number of different DC3's including Mr. Douglas. Hopefully I will get to do it again.

My wife works one day a week at a winery. One of the owners was exposed to Covid. She got a call from them and was informed. She was exposed to 4 of our friends plus myself. She went and got tested and the results came back inconclusive. She got tested again and came back positive. We kept our distance and she slept in a tent in the back yard for 10 days. The 4 friends plus myself all tested negative. The County Health Dept. was informed and they checked up on her for the 10 days and with no symptoms, she was cleared. Several weeks later got got the antibody test and it came back negative. Who knows if she really had it, were the tests false positives, what about the antibody test? There is a lot we don't know. Her mom is 91 and in an independent living center. They have taken all the precautions and so far everything has been ok with only one staff testing positive but they weren't at that facility. Since early November, they have let my wife take her mom to doctors appointments so she has been able to see her mom a few times. Thankfully we have been really lucky so far.

EPs for shoulder dislocations during a skydive
johnhking1 replied to David Wang's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Years ago one of my instructors had his right shoulder dislocate in freefall. He pulled his reserve and did not unstowe the brakes. He steered toward a large open area and landed doing a PLF holding his right arm with his left. I would suggest on a regular jump trying to flare using both toggles in one arm. If you can't do it, unstowing the brakes may not be the best idea. -
I forgot to include the fact that the northern DZ's are open and busy August / September and a number of people may not be able to attend.

The PIA Symposium has been rescheduled from February 1-5, 2021 to August 30 - September 3, 2021. Planning the event takes a lot of work many months in advance and with the uncertainty of the Pandemic, it was wise to reschedule. The question is, is 6 months enough. Will the covid virus be under control by the end of August. No one really knows for sure. There are several promising vaccines and large scale manufacturing is underway but none have received approval yet, maybe December, January ? When the vaccine is available, it will be administered in phases, starting with health care workers and first responders, then so on as time and enough vaccines are available. How long will this take, 6 months, 9 months, a year to get things under control. For the reasons above, I would be in favor of postponing the Symposium to January or February 2022 then holding future ones on even years. What are your thoughts.

I got my riggers rating from Dave a long time ago. Glad I got to see him at the last Symposium. If there is going to be some sort of memorial or get together, please post when and where.

I wonder how much those baseball cards I used would be worth now.

When EMHO started coming out to Finger Lakes Skydivers in the 1980's, he was living at the VA Center in Canandaigua, NY. He told me that he used to walk over to the County Court House and just sit in the gallery and watch what was going on. After he had been there a number of times, the judge was hearing a case and looked out into the gallery and saw EMHO sitting there. The judge said to EMHO, "You have been here a number of times, what do you think of this case". I guess it is one of the many EMHO stories.

I guess you need to stay visible if you want to receive grants.

I am guessing that Social Security seemed like a good idea when it was founded in 1935. When the baby booms started working, what a boost to the system. Now that they are retiring, it is putting a strain on the system. Social Security is starting to look like a giant pyramid scheme.
