  1. I've asked this question before too. It seems odd to me that the ticket counter person would have remembered anything about an unremarkable person at the counter. The stews I can understand, because they would have had opportunbity to observe him afterwards too. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  2. Like goggles and an alti...? Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  3. Georger, were you given any info on the size of the bag? Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  4. I agree the photo looks of a much older man. Of course, if there was a photo of Duane like that, at any age, Jo would no doubt take it as more "proof". Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  5. lol! i was somewhat tickled by the photo of the paper bag and the briefcase (am i right that there was never any clarity about the size of the actual bag Cooper had?) and the "sweet" lady who got a big cash loan from Christiansen. The book sounds like fun and I may read it in that vein when it comes out, square canopy or no, but I first need to get through "The Big Short" (highly recommended, as is all Michael Lewis's stuff - both professionals and "lay people" seem to enjoy his work - I've been a fan since "Liar's Poker") and "This Time Is Different" (which most of you probably won't want to read ) Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  6. A book subtitled "The true story of DB Cooper" doesn't get off to a good start with a pic of someone flying a square canopy on the front cover!!! Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  7. Very unlikely distribution, statistically speaking. Right Orange? 377 um, as far as real life pavement (or sidewalks in the US, but i understand nigel
  8. btw Sluggo deserves some kind of Cooper Loony Forum Lifetime Achievement Award... he actually got Jo to give a straight answer! (Muses: will we see more posts now in the form of a list of options with boxes to X next to them??) Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  9. Yes, in fact seeing as Jo volunteered the fact that is she going to make some "moves" and this discussion is not in a PM to sluggo but in public, I think we should all be let in on it. (Georger can skip the posts to preserve his blood pressure.) Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  10. Lol - while certainly not commonplace, this feat is not unusual among people who live down here. Oh, and remember I told you Max the Gorilla got treated at a hospital? Today another hospital had a lion admitted
  11. Makes sense. Has there been any confirmation of how much money, exactly, was found on Tena's Bar (ref the reports about more being found later in the searches?) Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  12. v interesting post sluggo... thanks! Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  13. i don't think she is trying to "construct an elaborate hoax"; I think she believes it all. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  14. I know this is off topic, but how does it work if the call is between states with different laws? Sheesh... if you guys can have one currency in 50 states you'd think you could have one set of federal laws??!! Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  15. It is my understanding of US law that as long as the person doing the recording is one of the parties to the phone call, that recording it is is not illegal; it is only illegal if a 3rd party records without consent. Is this true (or does it vary by state?) Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  16. Confirmation bias (or myside bias) is a tendency for people to prefer information that confirms their preconceptions or hypotheses, independently of whether they are true. People can reinforce their existing attitudes by selectively collecting new evidence, by interpreting evidence in a biased way or by selectively recalling information from memory. People tend to test hypotheses in a one-sided way, focusing on one possibility and neglecting alternatives. This strategy is not necessarily a bias, but combined with other effects it can reinforce existing beliefs. The biases appear in particular for issues that are emotionally significant (including some personal and political topics) and for established beliefs that shape the individual's expectations. Biased search, interpretation and/or recall have been invoked to explain attitude polarization (when a disagreement becomes more extreme as the different parties are exposed to the same evidence), belief perseverance (when beliefs remain after the evidence for them is taken away)[, the irrational primacy effect (a stronger weighting for data encountered early in an arbitrary series) and illusory correlation (in which people falsely perceive an association between two events). Confirmation biases are effects in information processing. They can lead to disastrous decisions. Confirmation biases contribute to overconfidence in personal beliefs. 17. Nobody here cares what the answers are, because it has nothing to do with the Cooper case. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  18. Not bourbon? Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  19. I'd dismiss the nutcase, but the 2nd one sounds interesting. The reconstructive surgery angle is interesting but confusing - the pic says it took place in 1987 but the text says "sometime after 1977". I'm assuming the pic is pre-surgery. You can't see his ears, which doesn't give us a potential immediate elimination. Question though: would someone with the hairline shown in the Cooper sketches be able to grow the mop in the pic Sluggo posted of Wild Bill? He had lots of aliases of which only 2 seem similar ... so I agree with 377, it does seem odd he might use his real last name. He knew how to fly a plane...but I don't see anything hinting he would have known how to jump from one. Wonder if any of those cessnas he flew ever dropped jumpers? I think chances are slim it was him but it is good to see investigations are continuing. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.

  21. DROPs??? You gonna jump Jo? 377 no, more dropping hints/teases ..a.nd so on. so apparently the stuff about whatevr being 'revealed' soon just meant, look forward to more promises of stuff to come being made ...which will end up being the same old thing. There are many suppositions but noproof so far; but there is one thing I am 100% convinced of by this stage, and that is that Jo Weber (or whatever her real name is because we know it is no longer Weber, she's admitted that) is delusional. 377, you've pointed out, others have seen, the conspiracy elements. And she already knows her "proof" isn't , trying to pre-empt that with saying people still won't believe... Who in their right mind would believe that a country that has no problem exposing its own presidents' misdeeds would go to such lengths to protect a petty criminal in a crime that, at the end of the day, was almost victimless? (I say "almost" because we know Tina was severely affected thereafter.) I agree with 377 that I think someone somewhere is taking advantage of Jo's delusions, most likely for monetary reward, and that is very sad. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  22. I said there was a picture of 3 guys who volunteered for a program as smoke jumpers for the forestry thru the prison ...the guys obviously had some jump experience in the mililtary. I contacted the prisons, but found no one who had any knowledge of this or the picture or any attempts at this program. ==================== I have stayed on point and I looked just like you and others have to find that darn photo - it was there. ======================= Same thing I asked Doug Pasternak at that time...he couldn't find the darn photo either. ===================== We found "something" someone else had recorded - purported to have been found by this person prior to his death. This person had the means to find the information and the motive to conceal it. The yr of this training co-incided with other information we have acquired regarding Tx, Mx and Az. The FBI had a name and picture and place of employment to work with - yet, they came up empty handed???? Do you really believe this one - I don't! I had to come back and quickly edit out some of the above - Sorry...even at this I have said WAY too much and there is MUCH more. What a load of crap. Oh dear 377, and you still await stuff? Come on, show us you are rational... that you learn from past experience ... please Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  23. Yes I am placing my bet that Duane never jumped. If you can prove unequivocally that Duane jumped then a lot of skeptics including me are going to have egg on their face and crow on their dinner plate. Why wait Jo? Are "they" still muzzling you? 377 Hm... the eggshell might get closer to being broken, but even if she can prove Duane jumped, it's still a long way from being DB. It will be a step closer, though, so come on Jo: show us. There can not possibly be any danger to anyone just from showing us that Duane once, somewhere, anywhere, exited a plane while it was flying. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  24. I think I agree with this view... not that it pleases me to say it. Perhaps it is better characterized as a self-perpetuating thing as Jo keeps trying to prove that all the previous time spent is not in vain... and so it continues. She can't rest till she finds closure, but she will not accept what the closure actually is, so she keeps going on. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
  25. You and I had that luxury of SL altitude...my favorite paratrooper used to exit at 800'. Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
