  1. Nice cartoon Tristan, you put in some work to keep the brand fires a burning
  2. No, just part of the teams and demo jumps. There had been talk of something last year but I think Loic was organizing it.. Get well soon LJA. BASEstore.it
  3. There was a good showing of wingsuit jumpers at the Outdoor Games in Chamonix last weekend
  4. uploading to sm.com now. If you want bigger pm me J. BASEstore.it
  5. Everybody hug Yuri. [hug] Flocking is what it is. Fun. Most of the time we use less than 50% of our suits "range". You can get frustrated or you can try and change the situation. But writing posts on DZ.com won't help much.. (but it does pass time at work) Lead by example. BASEstore.it
  6. New video is online here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4742293923978008335 or here: http://www.phoenix-fly.com/videogallery.htm BASEstore.it
  7. 120 mph..? This goes against what we saw at break off and in the head to head race in Arezzo. The Vampire was significantly faster than the SM1. Robi reached the deployment altitude at least 20 seconds before Tristan (maybe more..) Tristan arrived just a little shorter than Robi in distance, a slower vertical speed, but a much slower horizontal speed. BASEstore.it
  8. Vampire average around 2.4, Stealth average around 2.2. I get peaks on both suits in the 2.5 to 3.0 range but they don't really count, as previously discussed. (But in the end it is stamina that counts!
  9. Mr. Zipple, would you like to tell us about your background in WS flying? BASEstore.it
  10. I think it is important to clarify what is fast / slow in terms of horizontal speed. The V2 will comfortably fly at around 100 mph horizontal speed when flying for distance. The Stealth will comfortably fly at around 65 mph horizontal speed when flying for distance. The actual speed will of course vary depending on your body shape, weight and flying position. When I try flying the Stealth faster it also descends faster, I heard the same from some SM1 pilots also. BASEstore.it
  11. A canopy flies at say 3-3.5:1 and most accept that it generates lift. A wingsuit flying at between 2.5-3:1 does not..? From the tests we have made it appears to be a combination of vortex / conventional lift. Don't believe me? Ok, get your needle and thread out
  12. I made a presentation to the FAI International Parachute Commission this evening. I had the last slot of the day so tried to keep it short and light. Thank you to Jarno for providing video of Cochstedt and Team Topgun for the presentation, I also showed the Stupino 07 video. The presentation and video went over well. For the moment resources are focused on VRW but lets see what happens in the future.. Email or PM me if you would like a copy of the presentation. J BASEstore.it
  13. Like canopy manufacturers, WS manufacturers cannot be expected to reference every customer. Rules may be there to cover the lowest common denominator but common sense should never be left behind. BASEstore.it
  14. Hi Eric, i'm sure more people will post their thoughts once some suits get out there to demo. Should be soon. Long flights, J BASEstore.it
  15. In general BIG surface area suits are not good for BASE: - larger burble increase risk of PC tow - large wings making reaching PC trickier (even with pouch) - slow forward speed making sensation of flight less intense - not a factor for most but precise (proximity) flying is more difficult J BASEstore.it
  16. I didn't read anything -ve in your post, it was a reasonable question. We thought long and hard about leaving the standard cables off the suit (But it would require a 2 piece cable and a lot of extra tabs for wings this big!) Our webmaster has finally come through and the Stealth stuff is online.. BASEstore.it
  17. Robi's main motivation in WS design is to improve glide ratio. But the wingsuit jumpers around the world have many other different motivations and so he must make suits to meet other expectations too! (Be it Prodigy, Acro or Ghost) The Stealth is a reaction to the trend the market was following; easier to obtain slow vertical speeds and rapid assembly. I still love my Acro for flocking, big wings make you work hard to get "down". I prefer to work hard to stay "up" . J BASEstore.it
  18. In answer to your questions: - yes we will have demos out to FL as soon as production begins (we are in pre-production now) - materials are ZP and Parapack, there will also be a special colour option - the PF web master is back from holidays so hopefully everything will be online on the PF website later today BASEstore.it
  19. Just got back to a desk and a reliable internet connection
