Handles and PC/freebag I can understand, but extra cypres cutters? Huh? If my Cypres fires, I either: 1. Got knocked out or became incapacitated...in which case jumping should be over for the week. 2. I screwed up big time...in which case jumping should be over for the week, month, jeez maybe forever depending upon the circumstances. 3. My Cypres screwed up...in which case it sure as hell won't be going back into my rig. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

Just in case anyone needs a beginning skydiving rig that they can continue jumping as a "tall cliff BASE rig", I snapped a picture of this ad for you. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

I learned all my head-up freefly exits from watching Trace 101, getting a mental picture for what I was trying to acheive, and then hucking myself out of the Otter over and over. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

40 bucks in the tunnel is about 2 minutes. In the long run, I bet you can learn more off watching one of Joao's DVD's several times than you can in two minutes of tunnel time. And before you ask, my gear is freefly friendly. I have gotten coaching from Joao, Jon Chisholm and Mike Swanson. None of them would ever post the pieces of shit you just did to this guy. Maybe you're a better flyer or coach than any of them????? Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

I waited until I had about sixty or so jumps to take a canopy course...I wish I had taken it as soon as I got my A license...or before. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

I'm left handed, but I would still find dealing with the PC in my left hand to be awkward as hell. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

Why did you start skydiving?

Rumor has it that our action hero - Jacob Jerusalem - had contacted locals and found an object that the land owners "supposedly" were cool with extra curricular activities. Half way up the said object, the presence of police officers on bull horns saying come down showed that the land owners weren't as cool as advertised. So, in true action hero form, Jacob continued climbing to the top, and fliked himself anyways. As a side note, so far Geraldo has not yet picked up this story Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

I stopped by Skydive Ogden last Saturday. They had a nice operation going...nice big plane, nice hanger to pack in, lots of people, and the owner Suzanne was SUPER cool. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

Hey Nick- Even though Tony's email makes him out to be a total douche bag, I guess in a way your list still served one of its purposes. Tony read the list, and decided with what appears to be a fair amount of certainty that this gig is not for him. Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

Had a great time in TWF last week. Thanks once again to Tom A for answering every friggen question I could conjure up, and for packing/loaning me your round. Thanks Cheri A for the BASE triage. Thanks to the MVRMC staff for your professionalism and compassion...glad my shit was very minor, but everyone in that staff treated me well none-the-less Congrats to Tom's FJC students...after a tough weekend it would have been very easy to turn around and walk away, but you all gathered yourselves and realized your dreams. And congrats as well to the SLC crew that was in town Wed...while our time spent together was very brief, it was an honor to participate in your 1st loads as well. And lastly, thanks to the TWF crew for the MASSIVE amounts of damage control they have/are undertaking on behalf of all of us. I know that Abbie and Jamie are putting together an ad for the local TWF paper, thanking the community and the public services for their continued support. Anyone who has benefited from jumping in that area should help pitch in with the costs associated with this. Abbie, please PM me with your address and I will get my contribution off to you sometime this week. And speaking of Abbie - my gimp round BASE partner - glad we finally got to flik together. Seeing you reaching over with your good right arm to tug on your left riser was a priceless sight!!! Kurt Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

taken from http://www.bridgeday.info (7) What are the requirements for jumping at Bridge Day? There are several requirements that must be satisfied before making your first BASE jump on Bridge Day. Jumpers must be 18 years old, register online, show up prior to Bridge Day for gear checks and mandatory meetings, and follow all the rules set forth by the BASE Coordinator. In addition, jumpers must have prior parachuting experience (meaning at least 50 skydives or BASE jumps) and suitable gear. The BASE Coordinator and your fellow BASE jumpers can and will tell you to "wait until next year" if you don't have enough skydiving experience or proper gear. The safest and best gear to have is a BASE jumping specific 7-cell canopy with a low aspect ratio (Fox, Mojo, Dragon, Troll, Cruislite, Raven, etc.), a Velcro or pin-closed BASE specific harness and container (Reactor, Perigee, Wizard, Gargoyle, etc.), a 42-48" pilot chute with at least a 9' bridle (required), and a helmet and pads. High-performance zero-porosity (ZP) canopies are not permitted (we'll be glad to show you video of a first-timer Sabre pilot who broke both his femurs if you're still not convinced). If you plan on taking at least a 3-second delay, you'll want to purchase a mesh slider to speed up the opening of your canopy. If you have at least attempted to modify or purchase BASE specific gear, a tailpocket is another good idea to clean up your pack job and provide reliable on-heading openings. Reserves can be used if necessary from the NRGB if you have sufficient altitude and quick hands, but many who have used them in the past have only had a few seconds of canopy time. Also, forget your AAD on this jump as it will only get trashed if you land in the water. You will not be permitted to jump if you cannot safely make the jump using the proper gear and attitude. Your best bet is to purchase BASE-specific gear because your life depends on it. And remember, there usually aren't reserves! (8) Can I rent gear or should I bring my own? For how much? Plan on bringing your own gear to Bridge Day if possible, as there are typically only a few rentals available. Your gear options include: New Gear: This is your safest option if you have the cash. A new 7-cell BASE canopy will cost you around $1300 and a new Velcro-closed BASE rig is approximately $600. Other prices include: Mesh slider ($50), 42" pilot chute with 9' bridle ($85), tailpocket ($20-$50 installed), toggles ($20-$30), and stash bag ($35). Examples of BASE-specific canopies are the Fox, Mojo, Flik, Ace, Blackjack, Dragon, and Troll. Usually, instructional video tapes are included with new canopy purchases to show you how to pack, and there are free packing and first jump courses the day before Bridge Day.
